Customers are saying

Customers find value in the Nighthawk 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Voice Cable Modem's ease of use, strong performance, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate its voice support and competitive price, particularly as an alternative to cable company rentals. However, some users experienced compatibility issues with certain internet providers and reported problems with the Ethernet ports. The lack of built-in Wi-Fi was also a recurring point of feedback.

After a lot of research, i bought this NETGEAR modem to replace my Comcast Modem. I selected this one because I have VOIP service and it was compatible with Comcast. This was really easy to set up and works really well.

Its a good option if you don't want to rent the equipment from Comcast. I'm not sure how much I will save in the long run since you must also buy a router and equipment like this does lose value over time. It has been running for 1 month without an issue. Setup was easy.

Easy set up, router had a bit of an issue but the modem was a piece of cake. Works well with Comcast/Xfinity as this is your only option if you have phone service as well. Had to reboot once due back to back power surge/outage. Has amazing speed.

I bought this after COVID hit. We were having spotty internet due to multiple zoom meetings going on simultaneously. Paired it with a google mesh WiFi setup. Brings in the speed I pay for and no more choppy or dropped meetings.

Works fine burn install not clear when also connecting WiFi. Need to have modem fully registered with cable company before completing and moving fin to WiFi set up. That really isn’t clear since modem and router were from two diff companies (net gear and eero)

Bought this to replace my rented comcast modem, and finding one with a phone jack wasn't easy, but this worked perfect. The internet speed is better than my rented modem, and the phone works great. best option for those with gigabit internet and a phone line.

Excellent router! This thing is very fast, faster than a roadrunner getting chased by a coyote! We have multiple devices in the house that consume Wifi, but there is just no slowdown with this thing. Buy it!

The store didn’t have this version on site. Had to order it and it came fast for the holiday. Been working great. We went with this one since it’s capable of over a gig speed if we upgrade. Installed by the service tech. Recommended.

    Replacing Comcast Modem

I had Comcast Internet, video, and phone lines for 10+ years. Charged rental for the modem and every individual converter for every TV in the house. Not a small bill. I have been waiting for this modem to appear on the market, so that I could ditch all the rental equipment, and switch to a pure internet plus phone household. I did the switch over in August 2019. The Nighthawk modem is currently the only Comcast approved device to replace their own internet/video/phone modem. That made life simple. I bought it. Switched the gear out. Word of warning: you can’t do this yourself as the online self-help Xfinity system has no way of dealing with a new modem. You’re probably going to need an on-site technician. Other than that, it’s now September, I’m a pure streaming household and while my Comcast video bill dropped through the floor, my Comcast Internet bill soared through the roof. There is no free lunch.

Should have purchased this brand first before suffering through others! So far, performing well. Only drawback is the small size of the icons on the unit which are difficult to see.

This is a great option for gig-speed on Xfinity if you want to avoid renting their equipment. NOTE: you must have your own router if you want wi-fi. In fact, this was the only option for a gig-speed voice modem to purchase instead of renting, but it does the job well.

We have Comcast, this modem is supported by Comcast and it’s super easy to set up. It took less than ten minutes. If you have Comcast there are specific instructions to set it up. Very easy. The modem works so far. Our internet speeds are where they are supposed to be. Stop renting your modem and buy it! As for technical stuff I have no idea what any of it is without googling something. I paired it with a LINKSYS EA7300 wireless router and am now enjoying way better connectivity.

Once setup is done it is pretty straight forward. I'm sure I'm not using it to the fullest. I just wanted to get rid of my Xfinity modem and stop paying that monthly fee that I have been for soooooooo many years.

Bought this modem since I bumped up my speed to 400mbps and also to eliminate my monthly bill from optimum which was $11.00. I called to set up the modem and optimum said, The modem is not compatible for phone service. So now I’m paying triple play with no phone service hopefully soon they will be an update from netgear to solve this issue. If not I might have to switch to a different service provider. If you have optimum do not buy this modem especially if you have triple play this modem won’t allow you to use your phone according to optimum. I would only recommend if you have double play which is cable & WiFi.
