Setup was simple and download speeds seem really fast. The only limitation I see is that adding multiple devices can slow things down a bit - it is a dual band after all.

Able to use 3 smart TV's, laptop and cell phone with this router - great product. The only drawback was the antennae that do not stay in position when moved.

This router did improve our reception as our old one was outdated. Unfortunately we only have access to satellite internet and it has its limitations.

This Nighthawk AC1900 (9R7000) gives us good strong coverage in our 1700 S/F tri-level. We are on 1 Gbps internet provider and this handles perfect. Our only limitation is the speed of the computer/laptop in use.

My four year old router would bog down when the family was logged on and there were weak areas. This router solved all of the problems. We have a large 2-story house so getting something that could reach all areas was important. The improvement is obvious and the only limitations is the service provider.

Was having trouble connecting devices to wifi with previous router in certain parts of my house. Bought the Nighthawk and I am now able to connect any device anywhere in my house. Great for gaming. Only downfall to this product is the price.

This router is awesome. The signal range is amaazing and it has a ton of features. Unfortunately, the only drawback is that the latest firmwares are buggy and I had to downgrade to an earlier firmware. Moreover, Netgear customer support sucks. I won't advise this router to anyone who is not tech savvy.

I upgraded from a Linksys that would always drop my signal, get overridden by neighborhood signals and would get bogged down by all of the devices connected at once. This hardware is like night and day difference. My speeds doubled! The beauty of this is that all you need is your smartphone and you can connect it. I love being able to monitor traffic, connections and what devices are connected via my smartphone. Bear in mind, it is much bigger than my last router but I still had no problem finding a spot for it. The "smart connect" feature is beautiful. It connects to the wider range signal when I leave the proximity of the access point, but the downfall is that I've to turn off the wifi on my device (phone, laptop etc) and then reconnect to get back into the fast lane. A minor inconvenience but doesn't detract from the overall greatness. So far, I've had ZERO issues.

I've long ago accepted that routers basically need to be replaced every few years to keep them running smoothly. As a Mac user I always got Apple's Time Capsule routers-even though they're obscenely over priced-because they were easy to set up. I finally gave this bad boy a try and I'm glad I did. Getting it up and running the way I wanted took only a few minutes of fiddling around with the web-based config. It was no more difficult than using Apple's Airport Utility app. As a bonus, it's delivering much faster WiFi speeds, and it apparently has much farther reach than the Apple TimeCapsule because I used to have to have an Airport Express set up as an extender at the other end of the house to get any signal. Now I get a strong signal with no extender at all. The ONLY drawback I see is that the only USB 3 port is on the front of the router. I guess someone might find that useful, but I find it ugly and annoying. If you're a Mac user tired of paying $400 for the Airport Time Capsule, just get this and a cheap 1 or 2 TB storage drive to work with TimeMachine and you'll have the same basic setup only it'll work better and you'll save about $100-$150.

Let me preface this by saying that I've only had this a few days so reliability is yet to be determined. If you need versatile VPN functionality you might be better with an ASUS, as the VPN ability of this router and others in this category (such as the D-link 1900 model# are limited. It is worth noting that it seems the newest firmware has fixed most of the issues that have been reported on the internet #including the signal dropping). That aside, this is a great router so far. It has great signal speed and range. It hasn't dropped a signal yet. I love being able to use the 5 GHz band for my devices that offer that option #note: the range on this band will be about half of the 2.4 GHz band - this is with all routers#. Your other hardware will be the limitation for speed between it and the router, not the router. I used to have "page can't be displayed" messages all the time when going to different web sites and would have to reload pages, but not anymore. It looks great, but is big. It runs much cooler than I expected #people saying the ASUS runs really hot is one reason I went with the Netgear#. The Genie software is easy to use and provides a lot of functionality, including seamless firmware updating. There is even an app you can get for Apple or Android products that gives much of the functionality of the computer version of the software. Set-up was more complicated than I'd like, but this router has much more functionality than any other router I've had. If you are computer literate you will figure it out if you take your time #and the instructions that come with it are pretty good#. It is DLNA compliant which makes it great for playing music over the network on my Pioneer Elite receiver.

Now that almost everything is wifi based in our house. Our wifi has dragged for years. We had one of those stupid modem and router setups from the cable company and those are the worst setups you can have. It was super old, as we have had it for prob more the 5 years and it had a really low speed capacity. Although, every time we complained they would bump us to a "higher" connection speed and charge us more bc clearly we didn't understand at the time that we still weren't getting the performance that we were paying for because of the limitations of the box. But we finally got up on game. This has been one of the better purchases this year. We found this and disconnected the wifi portion of the dual box from the cable company. Now we only use their box as the modem. BEST MOVE EVER! No more buffering, no more lagging, no more stuttering, no more switching off the wifi on our iPhones, iPads, laptops, and no more cursing out the wifi, and throwing adult fits about how horrible the connection is. We can add so many more wifi enabled items to our home without worrying about slow connections, or the wheel of death on our laptops or phones. Such a great feeling. It's large but still visually pleasing and the lights light up white if you care about that sort of thing. We hide all of our stuff so it won't be seen but if we couldn't it wouldn't be that hideous sitting out somewhere minus the three antenna. Easy setup and worked right away, once we learned how to turn off the wifi portion of our previous dual setup. Call your cable/wifi company if you need help. It's been over a month now and we still are extremely happy with this purchase. Highly recommend it.
