Ty netgear
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Moved my older modle netgear to a friends laptop to upgrade with success. This product therefore was my upgrade that I didnt really need however lets see what happened. I am getting all the current compressions that comcast uses and others spec that marry up perfectly. Speedtest results are 190mg per sec dowload with comcast capping me at 200, 15 mg per sec upload as expected and 13 ping. These results are repeated through 3 walls and 20 feet of space. Are you kidding me wow! My situation demands wireless and games being played by several others are not hindered in any way without a cat cable hooked up.

Fixed slow speeds, 3-4 times faster!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After upgrading to the Netgear Orbi modem/router AX4200 package (which is awesome), my kids computer was still having some issues speed wise. This was the fault of the network card in his PC. I decided to get this product which tripled-quadrupled his speeds. The set up was easy, selected the AC band from my Orbi, and ran multiple speed tests. My kid said he could tell the difference. No long load times into Roblox games anymore. No more lag. Often times a product like this will be what you need, not a new PC.

Extends wifi signal & significantly boosts speed
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was at the well-built resort because the wifi signal could not get to my laptop through two solid walls. I was forced to get something more powerful than a built-in wifi adapter. The Netgear AC1900 resolved the issue instantly. Not only my speed of 8 MBps Down / 1 Mbps Up went up to 78 Mbps Down / 56 Mbps Up, but it also extended the signal to the areas I could not even see the wifi network before. Yes, it is expensive. But would you sacrifice a constant buffering movie night with family and friends over a $75? Probably not.

Lifesaver~
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I both game and I also work from home. When we moved into our apartment, we got the internet up and running within a few hours. The problem was that for some reason, the router/modem provided to us by our internet provider would not work well with ANY of our Ethernet cables. The cables were all in working condition prior and we even bought new ones to see if it helped. Every few minutes it would lose the connection when we had it plugged in, but noticed wifi on our phones never wavered. A day later, we bought two of these as a temporary solution until we could pick up a replacement router. This thing was a LIFESAVER! It was very easy to set up with the modem. No dips at all with wifi and it even worked well on our computer in the other room. I’ve been trying to clear out things we don’t use anymore but I have yet to get rid of these things. They were so reliable initially; they may come in handy again.

Great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent device. I purchased for my niece who received a Cyberpower gaming pc for Christmas that would not connect to her wifi. I consider my self to beyond tech savvy and can honestly say that setting up the device would be a breeze for a novice. So far no problems with disconnect or lag during game play. One thing I would say is make sure you have space because this should not be placed near your hard drive.

Good, but not perfect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this was an easy setup and it provided the speeds as advertised. I've always had my PC wired in to my router, for optimal speed and reliability, however when I recently moved, it was just too far from the modem for a wired connection, so I got this for Wireless. It works great, but when I game (FPS) there are random instances where I'll glitch back about 2-3 seconds... so there's a few network hiccups. This happens about 1-2 times an hour. If I was a competitive player, I'd definitely be upset and even return the device, but since I'm a casual player, it isn't worth returning.

Great wi-fi ruined by not so great design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its an AC1900 wi-fi receiver where AC designates that it can process/receive 802.11ac signals using 5GHz technology. The 1900 designates the theoretical bandwidth it can process 1900 = 1900 Mbps, 3000 = 3000 Mbps, etc. So this receiver fits nicely in the middle range and for its cost is a decent deal. Also provides the ability to move from computer to computer. But I am left trying to grasp some of the design decisions (see quibbles below). In the box Wi-fi receiver Some warranty and warning info Base Install disk Pluses; It has foldout antenna to help with its range and speed. Has base to help position it for greatest reception. Easily installed and you can use the “default” windows driver(s) or use install disk. Check website for updates too. Using disk installs Netgear genie which provides visual representation of your network as well as connection info – network name, Mac, IPv4 and v6 addresses, channel, etc. Is pretty fast – running speedtest.org I was steadily in the 190 mbps download and 23 mbps upload range. I have an Orbi 3000 mesh router and was probably around 10 feet away when testing. Quibbles – all related to design; Why provide a base unit that has powerful magnets to hold it in place with no option to easily remove them? In the box is a disclaimer to not use around pretty much any commonly used data storage device – hard drive, SD cards, etc.. Thanks for that but it makes no sense to me! And it really only works if you have metal to attach it to anyway. Because wi-fi unit is so wide/thick it can cover other USB ports on your computer. I happen to have a USB 3.0 extension cable handy so I didn’t have to spend any more money to buy one. Base USB connection cable is decently long but WHY is it hard attached to the base? Why not have it removable so as to be able to use as an extension to connect to the wi-fi unit to computers? I did wind up keeping the unit as it does what I wanted it to do and was able to work around its design issues. I do think its fast for the money and would suggest it as long as know what you are getting into…

Just what I needed!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This worked amazing once I got it going! I have a desktop with no WiFi card but all I had was mobile hotspot. My desktop wasn’t playing nice and this little addition helped! The only catch is you must download the software to run it! It would be smart to load it in the device itself but they rely on CD and online.

Better range, signal and speeds!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is a great device. Was only getting 1 bar of strength from previous usb wifi - full bars on this one. Download and upload speeds went from 3.5 down and 1.5 up to 200+down and 30+up. Well worth the money! I am extremely satisfied with this device! I have recommended it multiple times to friends who have issues with signal strength from one end of the house to another and it resolves it - without the need of repeaters.

GREAT!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I rarely give 5 stars, however, this AC1900 unit solved all my problems instantly. I have 3 walls, and a huge set of electronics to go thru. No problems. Honestly it surprised me. In addition to the 40 feet from gateway. Nice quality, and stand. Is quite big when all put together. I think it is overpriced considering we are a million computer years into wireless. But I would buy it again. Bonus, stand alone driver, and no bloat!

Good fast connection but rather large
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have used various wireless adapters on our computers upstairs (they do not have built in wireless capability) but they don't work very good. They lose connection and are slow. We have a Nighthawk modem/router downstairs so I decided to try the adapter. Wow what a difference it has made. Connection is good and pages now load fast. Very happy with the Nighthawk adapter. A word of warning though - it states it has a very strong magnetic base so I would not recommend placing it to close to the computer. Ours is on a bookshelf next to the computer. Also it was a lot larger than I expected.

Great depending on usage!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was impressed with the connectivity of this device, however for my purposes I ended up returning it. The device kept a good connection for web browsing and streaming. The issue I had was a hiccup of lag here and there while playing a demanding game like League Of Legends. My 5ghz router was approximately eight feet away fyi. If I needed something like this for non-gaming I would recommend it.

Fast and Reliable
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a fast and reliable wifi adapter for me. It has never given me any issues since I've owned it. It's larger than older and slower adapters but is worth it. The included base is very nice to use and has enough cable length to enable placement.

Satisfied Customer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a wireless usb adapter that was only getting about 20-30Mbps and had a good signal. I purchased this Nighthawk AC1900 with limited expectation and was shocked. The speed test was 450 down. This keeps me from having to run cable for a hard wired connection.

Buy it! Don’t second guess!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to use instead of trying to run wires. Was skeptical at first as to how it would pick up but VERY HAPPY with the purchase. I’m a fan of netgear products and this doesn’t disappoint. Picks up very well about 50 feet away from router (through multiple walls). Able to work, download, upload and play any games with no trouble just like my desktop was still hooked up with the Ethernet cable.

BEST WIFI ADAPTER! For Connectivity or a Booster
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a custom-built gaming PC for my son - did not realize it had (and they typically don't have) built in wireless capabilities. I was freaking out thinking I'd made a huge mistake & hadn't done my "homework" & just wasted hundreds of dollars on something that I was going to have to put even more money into this system that I didn't even have. Got online, started a chat with a customer service associate. He basically showed me this wireless adapter & told me that's all I needed. He was right!!!!! This is so easy!! All you do is put in the software disc it comes with (or download software online if you don't have a disc drive), plug this little savior into an active USB port in your machine, install the software, connect to your in-home wifi & voila!! You have the best & fastest working internet connection you will need - for streaming, gaming, you name it.,, The speed was truly surprising to me - it's faster than any network I've ever worked on before. You NEED this - if you need a wifi connection or a boost to your current wifi - THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO GET!! You will wonder how you ever lived without it!!
