Great router/modem combo for the price. My original Netgear of 7 years had finally died, this one with a decent upgrade in spec had a very similar UX so I could load in all my custom rules (I use pi-hole for DNS and a few other things). So far its been great.

I upgraded to the nighthawk modem router AC1900/C7000v2 from a Motorola modem and there’s a big difference in speeds and less fluctuations. I’m Very happy with my purchase.

Recommended Modem Router for high speed internet

-Setup I currently used the TWC leased modem. It was simply replugging my cables from the old modem to the AC1900 and everything was smooth as silk to setup my modem. -Features Strong Wireless Features with 4 ethernet and 1 usb connections. All in 1 combo to make your room clean and organized. -Performance This modem router has an outstanding performance. The TWC lease modem is currently a wireless modem Arris DG1670a. My internet service is 200/20. The TWC modem's wireless was giving me 70 mbps down, which is almost 3 times less the speed. After using the AC1900, My down stream boosted to 180 mbps. I can surely say the wireless is massively stronger and giving me what I am paying for. My ethernet connection to the AC1900 was toping more speed as well. This is truly a beast. -Expectations I honestly disliked wireless featured modems due to the lack of performance, but after using this AC1900 It has changed my whole perspective on these products. -Price-Value My work forces me to have good internet connection around my house. It is sad that the provided routers from TWC are not fulfilling the performance for the service I pay for. If you know you need quality internet performance you will know what to get. Certainly having everything in a combo package works better. You do not have to have a separate wireless router and modem. If one of them fails you are bound to replace one of them, thinking in the long run this is price efficient. -Recommend I truly recommend this product for people that currently have a good internet service and wants to take advantage after it. Strong wifi signal and coverage truly made me fall in love with this product. I have received this product from Netgear with the Friends & Family program, to provide an unbiased honest opinion and review.

Significant boost over horrid Arris cablemodem/router Spectrum gave me. $200 is a little steep, but I don't have to pay Spectrum each month for theirs. (Actually, in fairness, their hardware is free... weirdly, they charge you to use the wifi on it, if you can believe that!) Very easy to set up and configure. Great range and speed.

Worked better than the defective modem from our provider, but does NOT work with Spectrum Gig Internet. This was my fault, I should have double checked before buying it. I didn’t; and had to return it a few days later after contacting Spectrum. If you have Spectrum Gig Internet, it will still give you about 300-500mbps speeds. It will not allow for full speeds. I bought this originally because our devices were consistently getting kicked off the WiFi when a new device connected. With our entire house working from home full-time, we needed more reliability. This modem/router was very reliable. It did not kick our devices offline. I loved that it was one device for both modem and router. Great product, if your ISP supports it.

I have had this router for a month now. Prior to this, I was using the ARRIS TG862G that I owned. I have Comcast Blast Internet at 75Mbps downstream. With the Arris router, I was constantly having WiFi connectivity problems. I have 2 smartphones, 1 tablet, 2 media devices, 2 computers and 1 printer. The printer would often go offline and I would have to restart (and sometimes reprogram the Wifi info into the printer). So far, it has been smooth sailing with this router. For one, it is much faster as it offers 24 channels (I think?). The reliability has been excellent. As for the printer, I now have it connected over Ethernet (versus WiFi previously). The speed difference (I used speedtest.net) between the Arris and Netgear is clear as day. While arris was topping at 45 Mbps, the Netgear averaged 65 Mbps. Yes, it is pricier than the Arris router, but it is well worth the extra money. The time you spend wasting trying to recover from an offline device can never be recovered.

I went to best buy after getting rid of my Cox cable modem and was looking for a new modem that was fast enough to keep up with my internet and my nighthawk x6 router. I asked for help from one of the best buy associates and he recommended this modem. When I got home and installed it, I was upset and wanted to return it because I only wanted the modem, I had a router at home, and this product is a dual cable modem and wireless router. Before returning it, I decided to give it a try, thanks to my son asking me to do so. I think it was a great decision, my internet is beyond fast, and extremely reliable, i've has it for almost a month and I recommend this product 100%. Thank you best buy associate, good pick.

I really like this router/modem. It was very easy to install and works great, much better than my router provided by my cable company. Faster speeds and much less dropping of signal if any. I was first a little hesitant to spend over $200 on a router, but it was definitely worth it!

Set up for this product was quick. With old cable modem/router combo, did not get speed I paid for. Now I get speed I paid for. Maybe there is something to channel bonding. Good range This set up is in a room with a closed door so signal travels through walls fine. Great deal!

My old NetGear C6300 Modem/Router failed (after about 8 years). That particular model was no longer available, and I replaced it with the Nighthawk AC1900. It was pretty much plug and play and my home Wi-Fi network was back up and running as good if not better than before.

Purchased after realizing the existing router we had would not support the gigabit speeds we are getting from Xfinity. Easy setup, a multitude of devices are connected and rarely notice any lag. Very happy with this purchase so far.

Great router most of the time, confusing options

When I switched internet providers, I wanted a really good router/modem combination, to save on space and power requirements. This cable modem/router had the best ratings I could find. Plus I've always been a fan of Netgear products. Pros ===== + Dual 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. Great wireless performance (most of the time, see Cons below) + Simple user interface, lots of configurable options + Handles the needs of my family, with 4 PCs and a couple of dozen iPads, Kindles, phones, etc. Cons ===== - Wireless drops out semi-randomly, every few days. During the drop outs, the hard wired connections work fine, just the wireless (both bands) drop out and get reset. When this happens, the wireless usually comes back about a minute later. I tried checking the router logs but they are inconclusive. I think this is a bug in the router firmware and hope they release a new version soon. - Many options have confusing names. One option, "Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection", was checked by default from the factory. This means that this protection was disabled by default. I read from different sites that this should be _enabled_ (unchecked) for maximum protection, which I did. Now the router logs show dozens of DoS attacks. Not sure what to think about this. Should the option be on or off? - No capability to block a specific IP address. I wish I could just block all traffic from one address, rather than have it show up in the logs with DoS attacks. Netgear says their firewall automatically detects and blocks IPs, but I want to be able to totally block a specific IP. Netgear really should fix this. Summary ======== Overall I'm actually really happy with this router, in spite of the cons. I really think it needs a firmware update to address my concerns. It does perform really well, but if the wireless drops at exactly the wrong time (like during my son's gaming sessions) it's bad news and ruins his game.

I purchased this to get a better coverage radius around my house and have been impressed with just how far the coverage extends, I can walk to my neighbors front porch and still have connection. It works great, was easy to set up and connect and worth every penny. Found this to be the best option for the price.

I bought this router to accommodate my TWC service. It is fast and overall - excellent with no problems to date. The only issue is my anti virus system warns the password which came with the router is weak. My daughter was rushing to finish an assignment for school and was able to continue in the garage and to the mailbox (router in the family room). She had finished by then so the chances are the range is even further. I'm just enjoying the fact this is the best router I've had. There's no need to rent from the cable companies as this will quickly pay for itself compared to a rental, plus if you choose to go to another company you have to give it back. No thank you.

WARNING: Cannot handle anything above the 250mbps speeds from Comcast. This is mislabeled according to the comcast local services. Apparently need DOCSIS 3.1. That being said this is an amazing router/modem. Have had no issues with it and love the customizable functions. Others I've had in the past have been fried after 2 years right on schedule. Gone over 3 years and almost to 4 years with the older model of this one. Only reason I bought this one was for a family member's house. We even kept it in an enclosed box and never overheated. Can handle a full smart home with multiple streaming devices, smart light systems, thermostat, and cameras + still spike up to speeds of 285mbps on comcast which it isn't rated for anymore. Love the customizable options and the control I have vs the IPS provider options.
