I needed to replace my old Netgear cable modem/ router because it stopped working after 5 years (got good use out of it). I decided to get the newer version of my old model and it did not disappoint. We currently run all of our televisions (4), our computers / laptops tablets (4), our Alexa devices (5), and our phones (5) off the new Netgear modem router with zero issues! I would recommend this Netgear modem router if you are in the market for one, you won't be disappointed.

I’m very happy with this purchase. The setup is easy, and the signal has been strong and consistent so far. I have had absolutely no problems. I have noticed that devices seem to access content faster now. I recommend this.

Absolutely love this product! Super easy to set up! You can change the name and password for the WiFi. Also has an app that allows you to control the router/modem right from your phone. Great option at a great price!

So...originally I had the AC1700 which was recommended to me by some NOC guys where I work to replace the fees and unreliability of xfinity modem router combo. The AC1700 would drop its Wifi broadcast consistently after connecting w/ my Lenovo Yoga 710 -15ikb. I decided to take it back and pay a little more for the this AC1900 and it was the best choice I have made to date. Easy setup and completely reliable. Xfinity router/modem was dropping my signal at least once a week. AC1900 is a workhorse and completely stable with consistent 75-90 speeds any time of day. Save the lease fee for a sub-par cable provider modem/router combo and buy this thing.
Pros:
RELIABILITY, SPEED, and EASY SETUP (security and parental control)
Setup was very simple and easy. Compatibility with all my devices, desktops, and laptops.
Netgear Genie Phone and PC app makes modification and configuration a breeze.
Cons:
Price...but you can find it on sale if outside your budget.

I highly recommend getting this router over anything that your ISP (i.e. Comcast) would provide to you. This will save you money by not having to rent the router, so it pays for itself in a way. It's easy to setup and very fast.

The easiest way I can describe this is "tech is obsolete the second it leaves the store". Almost like cars, it loses value and gets revised and replaced so quickly it that often times it's best to get more than you need if you can get a good deal. Best Buy was great about matching a lower advertised price at the time of purchase, which closed the deal for me and saved me a drive across town.
At home we run a 300mbps connection through TWC. We run 2 cellphones, 2 laptops, 1 wifi printer, 1 tablet, 1 smart TV, and 1 Roku device all over this modem/router. Operation has been flawless. Connection is fast as would be expected. Set was easy!
My advice, you'll end up paying an average of $10 a month for a rented modem/router from the cable company ($120 for the year), that won't perform nearly as good and at the end of the service you'll have to return to the cable company. Plus getting them to upgrade their device is like pulling teeth. Pay a little more, and own it, and go overkill so you're satisfied and the device don't get outdated quickly.
Great buy.

I bought this after a little research and am very pleased with it's performance, it may be a little over kill for my 2/2 apartment but I have zero problems with range. it will support to 960mbps so it's pretty future proof as the internet standard becomes faster and faster.

You said this router would work with Century Link. It turned out it did not. On the box it said it worked with Xfinity. Now I have Xfinity for TY, internet, and mobile phone. I like the range of this router- it makes it possible to use small set up boxes instead of cable to watch TV. Got a great deal on a phone as well.

We used to have the Comcast rental for our internet and as usual it's garbage! We purchased this netgear modem and it's been so reliable ever since! We live in a 2 story home and we have no dead zones and our internet goes at the proper speed. Definitely recommend.

Our previous NETGEAR modem/router didn't have as many down and up channels which caused lots of buffering and frequent drops as Wi-Fi devices have been added. This new modem/router is the difference between a 2-lane road and a super highway! We now have minimal buffering and no drops.
Connection and setup was fairly easy with the Nighthawk app. and NETGEAR customer service. We did have to call our internet service provider (ISP), Cox, to finish the connection, which they goofed up by changing the device name. Fortunately, with NETGEAR customer service walking us through a device reset, and a 2nd call to our ISP everything now works perfectly.
We're glad that we made the investment in this modem/router to bring us "up to speed".

I purchased this Modem/Router combo to replace original modem from Optimum which started to drop signal almost every hour. Plus Optimum keeps on raising rental fee. Setup took just a few minutes: follow instructions in the package. Than a quick call to Optimum customer support: they asked if new modem DOCSIS 3.0 compatible and MAC ID to register it in the system. Couple of minutes later after system refreshed - I am online with faster connection, steady signal that hasn't dropped once and $10 plus Tax a month savings on modem rental from Optimum!

Great combined router

Turned in my Comcast supplied combination router and saved $11 a month. This dual band modem router surpassed my expectations. I figured it would be better than the Comcast equipment, but its way better than their equipment. I'm paying for 55 and am getting 75+. I can see a noticeable difference in the way my computer loads and moves. Very easy to set up. I'm not a pro by any means but had no trouble getting my system up and running in less than an hour...I wasn't rushing. Since set up about a month ago there has been no problems. The net has not stopped working, as far as I can see....others stated theirs lost contact with the net but I have not experienced that problem. Its relatively small and fits just fine into my existing equipment. So far, a great purchase, plus it will almost pay for itself in the first year.

Purchased to replace the piece of junk that Sparklight had provided. Easy setup and works fantastic. Has a much stronger WiFi signal and the 5Ghz covers the entire house now. Totally worth the money.
