It's an excellent modem/router for a two story house. Very good range and covers pretty much entire house. Performance is great for online streaming content. I had no difficulty in installing and setup.

I live in high density housing and my old Arris 802.11n residental gateway could not compete with the 50+ other wireless networks within range. After researching this issue, I found this AC router was what I needed. It was very easy to replace my existing Comcast residential gateway (didn't require a call to Comcast) and within minutes I was up and running at full speed! I can use my devices in any room without any signal degradation. After doing a wireless survey, I even found an unused channel in my area, so my wireless signal is unimpeded by the surrounding neighbor's WiFi devices. This unit also has a NAS feature, which is very easy to use and is recoqnized by my other network devices. Great value, performance and features!

We were using the cable company router/modem and kept getting about 50mbps on our 100 mbps plan throughout the house, with really spotty service in rooms. We bought extenders which didn’t really help and we’re about to buy a mesh system when a friend recommended this device. Set up is easy, and we’re getting over 100 mbps throughout areas that we would barely get a signal. This also saves $10 a month in router fees so it’ll pay itself off in a year and a half. Totally worth it.

This was the easiest to set up. The one I bought before this one was an Arris G34. I wasted almost a week, trying to get things to connect to the router. And couldn’t get to connect. I brought that one back and bought this one. The best thing I ever did. Set up was a breeze.

We bought this so we could avoid having to rent Comcast's modem/router. We moved into a 2 story 2800 sq ft home and I wanted something powerful enough to cover most/all of the house without having to use wifi extenders. This thing does that and more - I can catch a strong signal out in my front yard 25 feet away from the house. I am not a super tech savvy person so I can not speak to the technical aspects of this but if you want to avoid having to rent your modem/router and want something that can support all your devices, this is it!

Router/modem from TW cable is new enough and does what it can, but I have walls, 2story, nooks&crannies, tile/cement bathrooms, doors, walls and studs and drywall and I wanted more. Netgear's latest modem and a feature loaded router does the trick. Better, faster, stronger. Have to keep the TW original due to having the phone hookups/jacks, so I plug in both for power. Netgear Nighthawk is on TWs list and eliminates the monthly charges I had (keeping the TW box just for the phone has no fee. and I don't have to bother to turn it in or recycle it.) Happy family makes me a happy customer

This a great modem/router combo. Set up was easy, except the part where they don't tell you that upon first initialization that it'll take approximately 1hr for it to recognize any kind of signal from your cable company. Once that hour has gone by, it works great!! Just don't try to do it before trying to go to bed like I did & stay up waaaaay past your bedtime to make sure it worked properly. Lol. Hope this review helps out some

This is actually the second purchase of this item, kind of. After purchasing the first time I set up my nighthawk quickly and easily and was off and running. Unfortunately some 10 days later or so I moved some furniture around and accidentally broke a prong on the power cord and was suddenly without an internet connection. After talking to Netgear and Best Buy they allowed me to exchange the nighthawk for a new one and was able to up and running once again. The nighthawk works great even running 3 TVs, multiple phones, PS4, and a few other items!

I needed to upgrade an old cable modem and apple wireless router. The set up on this was extremely easy. I went from speeds that were half of what I was paying for from my ISP to speeds that are now at, or exceed, my contracted service speeds. Very happy with the investment. The dual band allows older devices to still connect wirelessly on the 2G and my newer devices connect on the 5G. I would recommend to anyone who's system is running on older, slower equipment. I can be on Zoom calls while both my sons are on line gaming and not have any buffer or lag issues.

At nearly a 1GBB/S its EASY to set up and use. Once in the main router information and settings web page, it's real easy to set up for family use and requires little tweaking for the average user. NOTE: My only problem involved getting to that EASY interface as other installed Internet Security, browser and AV/Malware programs thought my local network was INSECURE or UNSAFE (weird) . There are two choices, either turn off your AV (Not recommended) or White List (AKA: Allowed websites) your private domain (Usually 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.200, as well as http://www.routerlogin.net and http://www.routerlogin.com (both are local). ENJOY!!!!!!

I purchased a Motorola Arris Model SBG6580 SURFboard Modem &Wi-Fi Router earlier this year. The N300 device did not perform well for us. The speed deteriorated significantly at my smart tv in the next room. We were encountering buffering when trying to stream movies. I went to Best Buy and discussed the issue with a knowledgeable sales associate. He recommended the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900. We are very pleased with the performance of this device. It meets all of our streaming and Wi-Fi needs. The speed and signal strength remain strong throughout our home.
