I waa convinced it was the provider and was ready to change. Living in a rural area, options are limited. Having two kids doing virtual during a pandemic and working from home - intermittent internet was just not going to cut it. A tech said that they would recommend this Netgear Nighthawk modem/router and let me tell you - BEST INVESTMENT I HAVE MADE IN 2020! I have had virtually no issues since installing and using this piece of equipment and I HIGHLY recommend it. We have multiple gamers and several WiFi devices connected to this and have had no problems whatsoever.

It's a great modem and router

I have a house full of devices, phones, video games, streaming.. After change my modem i can play while everybody else are using their devices and have no problem.. Very happy!!

No more rental fees!

This one has the added bonus of being a wifi router. I added switches and 2 more wifi routers (all 2-3 bands) and everything is online without the lag. I couldn't be happier.

All my other and they were different brands as well needed to be restarted at least once a couple weeks. This one isn't the case, great speeds and distance coverage.

Finally in control of my equipment

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After years of getting stuck on a DSL provider that insisted on rented (crappy and unreliable) equipment, I switched to cable and was able to actually purchase my own equipment. Out of the box this has great looks and I love it stands vertical to take up less room. Configuration is a breeze and the user interface easy to use (for setting network names, securing access from unknown entities, and making strong passwords...in fact I have to go back in and look again because there are some other nice maintenance features not available in my older router). Great to match the equipment to the speeds but this is current on protocols etc. 4 port hard wire gets you clean speed when you want it.
