Xfinity Customers Avoid

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm pretty technically adept, but wasted much of a Saturday trying to set up this thing. The setup using the app was not very helpful. It involves bouncing around between the Netgear app, Xfinity app and iPhone settings. When trying to get it to connect to Xfinity, I was caught in an endless admin sign in loop. Eventually, after I finally broke down and called India, it did connect to Xfinity. At a pathetic 30 mbps or slower. It eventually went all the up to 130 mbps (I pay for 400). I was getting 230 mbps on my old ancient modem just before trying to install this device. Netgear said I'd have to call Xfinity about the speed. Before I connected with Xfinity, the Netgear lost the connection and never would reacquire it. Xfinity couldn't help since they were unable to reach it. I put this garbage device back in the box and went back to my 6 year old modem and 10 year old router and instantly started getting 260 mbps. This device clearly doesn't work with Xfinity, though the box says it does. It's going back.

Modem / Router review

I called the tech line and was on line for 20 minutes and when someone answered, I was talking with them for a few minutes when we got disconnected. They didn’t ask for my number in case we got disconnected so they could call me back. It took 1.5hrs to get it working in my system.
