Customers are saying
Customers love the Nighthawk AX1800 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System's ease of use, extensive coverage, and quick setup. Many appreciate the strong signal and wide range, resulting in improved performance. While some experienced connectivity issues and found the app less intuitive, the positive feedback on performance and range outweighs these concerns. The WiFi 6 capabilities are also frequently praised.

Stable at first, Got worse and no updates/help
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Became unusable over time. Kept dropping wifi connections. You get a mesh system to reduce dropping, this increased it. I stopped using it altogether and went back to my older AC router and AP to bring back my connection. Netgear support was worthless and I waited and hoped they would update the firmware. I couldn't wait any longer since the wife has to work from home. I ultimately replaced it with a much more robust Wifi-6 system with Unifi. So bummed I wasted money on this system, but I'm happily using a proper system that doesn't try and spam me with "secure features". Instead I bought a system that does it without extra cost.

Hard to set up, poor user interface
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The user interface i.e. Nighthawk app is extremely slow, inaccurate and offers very limited functionalities. It is best to just browse to the router unit to configure all features. Bestbuy also gave me the wrong advice is stating I could deploy 2 routers and 2 satellites to get better coverage across 4 floors. So I bought 2 systems and struggled for 2-3 months to get the system to work, only to find out out you cannot run 2 routers in the same mesh as you will experience duplicate IP addresses on you wifi LAN. Wrong advice from BestBuy.... and now i cannot return the second pair satellite/router because i am past the return period.....

Don't purchase
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this NetGear Mesh Device thinking it will give me better coverage in my four level Townhouse, but I was wrong. I was able to configure and connect other devices until the next day whereby it kept losing network connection to my NetGear Cable Modem model# CM1150V. After rebooting both Cable Modem and the Mesh about 10 times, I just gave up. Moreover, when you use the NetGear Nighthawk App for the Mesh. You don't have the ability to Enable the Boadcasting, therefore anyone can perform a Wi-Fi scan and find your device which is a huge security issue.

Terrible product
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product is garbage and the "free support" is garbage. I am returning this product. My suggestion to you is find another solution because this is not it! Tech support is useless. I have a 1700 sqft house and this solution is rated for up to 3000 sqft, and yet standing in the same room as the satalite it drops the signal, then cant find the signal all the while if you are near the modem it is working great. Save your money and do not buy this its a waste of time and money.

It is worst router ever made
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some devices require the 2.4 ghz and not 5, and setup usually requires phone to set WiFi settings. This router will not allow you to choose between them. The “smart” router automatically forces the 5ghz. It turned a 2 minute job into 45 minutes. I hate this router more than I can describe. I would return if it wasn’t such a pain. I waited on hold for over an hour with netgear to see if I was missing something before I just hung up. Look elsewhere for a router. This one is terrible!

Incredible Coverage, when you can connect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me preface this review by letting you know I do telecom engineering and management and I'm a little smarter than the average bear. I set one up upstairs and the other downstairs connected to my cable modem. And even after software updates, setting everything to default and multiple other tweaks the units would quit assigning or reassigning DHCP/IP addresses and my phones and laptops would attempt to reconnect and time out. Not sure what the bug is, but I returned it.

Super downgrade from an eero
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried this device when my eero wasn't working properly anymore. I should’ve just switched the eero out for another eero as it was under warranty. Instead i thought I’d try this one out and save some money and get some store credit and buy other things. Very bad decision. It’s signal is weak compared to the eero. I have a two bedroom apt and the nighthawk was struggling a lot to get wifi for my two tv in each room. Have in mind one nighthawk was right underneath one tv. Lol

Don't experience any faster performance.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.disappointed by the fact I don't see any faster speeds than my Apple Extreme router. Also the Nighthawk frequently ceases to work and had to be rebooted.

nighthawk mesh router; as good as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By Blake V. 12345 Have a 2 story home and a basement. My modem is in the basement and had areas of poor coverage of WiFi, especially on the 2nd floor. Now have good WiFi coverage throughout the entire house including the 2nd floor. It also maintains my internet speed very well. Also, it was very easy to set up.

USELESS
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the WORST product that I have ever purchased from NG. They offer ZERO w/o purchasing their $50 Tech Support package. CONSTANTLY disconnecting from devices - even those that are hardwired. NG forums is loaded with complaints, but NG just ignores them all. I have always purchased NG and never had issues until this. Based on the "Customer Service" (LOL) experience - NEVER again. $200+ for a digital paperweight!! VERY disappointing!

Poor performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed these and it made my home wifi worse. One of satellite's kept dropping random devices that were hooked up to it. My ping also shot up quite a bit. Customer support is outsourced to India and its all very scripted/generic. If you go to the actual Netgear forums you will see a lot of people having issues with this system. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Mesh-System/bd-p/en-home-nighthawk-mesh-system

DO NOT BUY
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could have given this a 0 I would have. When I purchased this, I was a Bitdefender subscriber and had just renewed my subscription. Very disappointed that Netgear wanted me to pay for the subscription twice to use it with their product. Very sneaky Netgear. Going to return this piece of junk and get something other than Netgear.

Good Speeds when they work
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to extend my wireless network in my house. The speeds worked well, and I have about 20 devices on the network. The issue was that half of my devices would be connected, but would not get internet. This would happen randomly with wireless devices, even though I would have an internet connection on other devices on the same network.
