The NETGEAR Nighthawk was first of all easy to setup. The directions were excellent to get me started. I have connected over 10 devices and tested them all using data of WiFi at the sametime with no issues. I have three floors of living space at approximately 2500 square feet. With having two boxes and a small WiFi extender I was able to cover the entire home and backyard no problem. Speed and range we excellent to go with my 1 Gbps Up/down of my internet from Verizon. Having a guest network is helpful too as well. Overall I would highly recommend this new technology. For the price, it pays for its self over time as it should last for quite some time.

    A Mesh above the rest.

Before I installed the Mesh MK62 system I was running a Netgear Nighthawk router in my house. The device worked will but I did notice a few spots in my house and yard where my signal strength was low. The Mk62 fixes this by creating a mesh wireless coverage over my entire home. This allowed faster speeds, smoother reliability and greater coverage in areas that were not getting strong signal strength. This really helped with some of my wireless security cameras on the outside of my house. The MK62 system replaces your home wifi router but does not have a built in modem so it will need to be connected to one to reach the internet. You can setup your device with either a web browser or the Netgear Nighthack App. I used the app on an IOS device since I already had it installed for my older router. The app steps you through every configuration option during setup. It will also give you quick troubleshooting tips if you have problems along the way. The entire process took under 10 minutes to get up and running. After the initial setup, you can fine-tune your configuration and start connecting clients to your system. You may need to move the satellite device around to different spots of your house to get optimal coverage. The MK62 system will not disappoint if you are looking for a mesh system to expand your network and take control of devices that connect to it. The performance of the system was perfect for a household of 5 streaming video from multiple devices, playing multiplayer Xbox games, listening to music on Spotify, and controlling my Hue lights. The system met all my expectations and then some. I highly recommend it over a standard wifi router. I received the NETGEAR Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System (MK62) as part of NETGEAR’s First Look Review Program.

It is very easy to install the NETGEAR Nighthawk Mesh WiFi 6 System. You download the Nighthawk app and the app walks through the installation process step by step. It took me about 15 minutes to set-up. They couldn’t have made it any easier to set-up a home router. I get consistent speed in my home (2 story, 3000 Sq. Ft. home). Connections are stable with my devices connected to the router and get great speeds. I have a home office that is in a different room than the router and always had connectivity issues. Now with an Ethernet port connection has significantly improved and improved performance and I no longer have to deal with connection interruptions. I wish the device had more ethernet ports!!! You can easily manage, monitor your internet usage,Wi-Fi speeds etc. The app interface is user friendly, doesn’t take much time to adopt. The product design looks very sleek and modern. I like the black texture on the product, fits well in the home with other devices. I highly recommend this system to everyone who have a large home and dead zones. This is great price/performance value. I was provided this product for free to test and write my un-biased review.

    Nighthawk app is convenient

The app is convenient. Since having it for a week or so, I only had to reset it only once. i expected the set up to be easy but it became cumbersome when satellites weren’t being detected though everything was ready to go. However with some patience and several tries I had it all connected. Overall, it’s performance has been okay. Internet speeds are steady though I’ve experienced slow speeds intermittently.

Great for the Novice users, IoT, and streaming fam

Since I have owned these Mesh units, it has improved dead spots around my house. Our house is a heavy streaming house and IoT devices. At any point we can stream 4-6 streams at once and no one complaints about any kind of buffer or sudden stop in their stream. We also run a lot of IoT or smart home items in our house as well. We have IP security cameras that are 24/7, smart plugs, Alexas', WiFi smart bulbs, and many more. At any given time we can have 35 WiFi devices connected along with 20 wired devices and this system does a great job keeping all items running smooth. When it comes to WiFi, I can cover all 3 levels of my home. I also have a blanket of WiFi around my house as I can stream in my back yard and my in my garage which is 80-100 feet from the mesh point in the house. Do't forget these are new tech of the AX or WiFi6. We have several items that support that in out house and noticed we are seeing improved battery life on our devices. Great price for a great setup.

    Easy setup. Good range

I have a 4000 sqft home and these cover the place well. There are not many Ethernet ports, but we need more than any router provides so I have two switches attached in network. I was able to setup in about 15 minutes. The longest delay was to update firmware. I have mine operating with Ethernet backhaul. The devices aren’t close enough to get good signal between the two but that’s intentional, I want to maximize coverage to the front and back yard. I get Good signal about 50 yards from the home in every direction. I’d highly recommend. It has WiFi 6 and supports wpa3, the next generation of WiFi security protocol.

Bought these to see if it would extend my wifi out to my new detached garage for some equipment we had hooked up out there. Wasn’t sure if it would work but thankfully they did. We have the Spectrum internet signal coming in on the far left side of our house and we were wanting to extend the wifi almost 125 linear feet out to the new garage. We’re able to receive almost max wifi signal out there with this Nighthawk wifi 6 mesh system. Would 100% recommend to anyone. Extremely please with this product.

    Likely Returning

Pros: - Setup was easy and moving the satellite or router to different locations around the house was painless with respect to the router coming back online and being able to find the satellite without any intervention - Looks nice and minimal Cons: - Connection strength degrades without me moving - WiFi speed varies significantly. anywhere from 30Mbps to 862Mbps without me moving at all (Tested on an iphone 11 pro using the nighthawk speed test within the app) - Unable to connect to servers located within the network (iphone to server running on laptop) without it constantly timing out. Switched my laptop over to using my phone as a hotspot and i was able to connect to the server running on my laptop with no issues - Nighthawk App is often unable to tell you which devices are connected to the router and which are connected to the satellite. Often just shows that no devices are connected to either - Ran into a very weird issue on 2 different laptops where the router wouldn't assign an ip to the laptop - Web admin interface crashes whenever enabling or disabling the guest network - Seeing an alarming number of DoS related logs i.e. [DoS attack: RST Scan] from source <REDACTED>,port 443 Friday, Mar 06,2020 04:03:07 [DoS attack: TCP SYN Flood] from source <REDACTED>,port 44046 Friday, Mar 06,2020 04:09:47 - Unable to manually switch devices from router to satellite Likely returning on Monday

We have been having problems with our speeds and wireless connectivity for some time which has of course been even harder to deal with since covid and all the video conferencing my wife and I do. Got this system, downloaded app, installed, added satellite...all in 15 minutes or so and we were in business and it is Way Better than what we had for a router before. Highly recommend!

I get good coverage in my house. I have my desktop computer hooked to one of Ethernet ports and it is fast. I have 300 mbps internet and it consistently gets 290-310. Might be around 250 during peak hours. But does the job. I was definitely in need of an upgrade and satisfied.

It took me about 10 minutes to get this system all set up and my internet speeds have been great since. Coverage is amazing, I have a 2 story 3500 sq ft house and zero dead spots. I am able to get coverage in my backyard and garage now without issue as well. Great product and would highly recommend.
