Dropping is something I NEVER had to worry about until this product. I got this specific brand and model on the advice of Best Buy - normally that is great advice - not this time. Conservatively my internet drops three or four times a day. This is a problem any time, but it is that much worse because I work from home and have to have reliable internet - which I no longer have.

Easy set up, looks nice in person. I was hoping for better coverage, but it does not penetrate cement walls very well.

Buy far the most easy to setup and strongest wifi router I’ve had. Two in the basement where we hang out the most opposite ends of a 2000sqf ranch and one central upstairs. I keep super strong wifi across most of my two acre property.

This product is very disappointing. We have 1 gig speed fiber coming into the house. We purchased this mesh system with the recommendation from a Best Buy employee. Once we hooked up the system, we could never reach speeds above 300 mbps. I spent over 6 hours total on two separate occasions with Net Gear customer service attempting to resolve this. We updated the firmware and separated the 2g and 5 g channels and still never get over 300 mbps. We also have times when our streaming cuts out and stutters. The results from this mesh system is not as fast or reliable as our previous router and extenders running with only 100mbps coming into the house. Even after doing everything that NETGEAR customer service suggested, we were never able to get close to the speed that we are paying for and the signal is not reliable (yes, we had the fiber company out and it is not the fiber system). I would stay away from this system and wish that we had.

We installed it in a church. We are finding that the wifi internet connection is being dropped regularly, or somehow interrupted while using laptops. Even when a streaming laptop with camera, both Ethernet connected by cat5 wire has interruptions. We are ready to return it, not having received quality support from Netgear.

This Netgear mesh router is very disappointing. The mesh system does a very poor job of moving computers between the base and the satellites as connections relocate through the house. The satellites will randomly stop providing any network connection even though the base and the satellites think they are connected, and have to be power cycled. This is made even more frustrating by the very high signal attenuation on the base and satellites. The configuration options on each generation of Netgear products and each firmware version get more and more limited, leaving no option of trying to fix the product's shortcomings by tuning power, among other things. Meanwhile their annoying push to get you to subscribe to excess "protection" services keeps getting ratcheted up and up. I would not recommend this product or purchase it again, and probably will avoid the brand altogether.

Once set up correctly this system works very well. I back hauled my satellites to get optimal performance. It’s important to follow typical router guidelines too. I purchased a second set for my Son’s home too.
