Like most modern households, I have multiple wifi connections, phones, laptops, tv’s, etc. This router was easy to set up, extended range and it can handle all of my devices without slowing down. I’m getting 500 mbps wirelessly.

Bad product, lost connection with my satellites. Called netgear for support. Best they can do is change it to refurbished device. So, u brought a brand new device to be changed to a refurbished one. Will not buy again

Absolute piece of trash. Go look at the Netgear forums on this before buying. Wifi disconnects every single day. The only fix is to reset your router every day. Then it'll work until peak time the next day before crashing again. Dealt with it for 45 days. You only get a 15 day return window apparently so now I'm stuck with a 400 dollar paperweight. I've installed 2 different versions of firmware. None fix the issue. If you post on the Netgear forums you likely won't get a response fr Netgear. If you make a support ticket it'll take over a week and they'll not help you even after your ticket is made. This is the worst networking purchase in years. Sad because I have been loyal to Netgear for years and years.

I'm not your average smooth brain network user. I set my own SSID, IP ranges, wifi channels etc. Why does this product at every turn stop me from setting it up through a web GUI? I have to use your crummy app to set it up instead of typing in 192.168.0.1. And great move making it 192.168.1.1. Just have to be difficult right? A subtle hint for your customers to REDACTED with themselves I am sure. Well go REACTED with yourself Netgear. When I finally get into your web GUI all I get are "192.168.1.1 refused to connect." I go back to your data-mining app and now it says it can't find the router. Hah! Apparently the app no worky if the SSID is changed. A hammer is looking like the best tool for your product. In what REDACTED universe are your design choices well thought out?

These are by far, some of the worst mesh systems I’ve ever used. I have given these things nearly 6 months, but will be returning them. Setup: Setup seems simple enough, but nowhere close to as smooth as Eero, Linksys or Nest Wifi (Google wifi). If you don’t setup the nodes/satellites correctly it can be difficult to get them adjusted later on, my units needed to be reset 3 times before they recognized my modem and it’s internet connection. App: all modern mesh systems need a good app to accompany the hardware. For diagnostic purposes, checking network health, updating basic settings. But this app is very unreliable, only seems to work well if you are directly connected to the network. On top of that they spam you about their warranties/network protection services. Operation: this is the crux of the issue with this unit. I live in a small apartment, but I needed hardline connections in every room. So I went with the 3 pack, so I could hardwire as many devices as possible that need as low of latency as possible. The 800mbps that I have coming in, immediately off the first satellite, on my wifi 6 devices with direct line of sight to router, they get 450-600 mbps. The good news is at the farthest satellite, I will still get about 400 mbps. But to be honest, unless you’ve got a lot of bandwidth/speed to play with, this is a similar drop off to just using a range extender. My old Linksys Velop system maintained about 90% of its speed wirelessly, but losing 50% is very pitiful performance-wise (and yes all firmware is up-to-date Netgear, stop treating your customers as if they are stupid). But the biggest reason for my disdain for this product comes from its constant failure and reboots! This unit will either tank (speeds as high as 2-4mbps) or completely shut down and start back up for absolutely no reason. I have lost too many online matches this way or have been disconnected during important calls just because the router was “tired” or throwing a fit. My modem, which is nearing 4 years old at this point, chugs along just fine. I cannot stress enough, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. If you need wifi 6, buy Eero, Velop or Amplifi. Do not bother with the joke that is Netgear nor their inferior “premium” brand Nighthawk. This performance barely justifies a $200 price tag, let alone a $500 one.
