Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the Nighthawk AX4 router's ease of use, range, and performance, with many praising its strong signal and broad coverage. However, some users experienced challenges with the setup process and reported issues with the app and occasional connection problems. Positive feedback frequently highlighted the router's improved range and speed compared to previous models. The Wi-Fi 6 capabilities were also a selling point for some customers looking to future-proof their network.

Regularly drops connections - Not recommended
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The AX4 regularly loses connections with all devices, even wired ones (intervals spanned a few hours to a couple of days). I spent over three hours on the phone with Netgear tech support and, in the end, decided to exchange the router for a different model. Required a 10-minute power cycle every time it booted devices. The speed was great when it worked, but I don't consider this a functional model until Netgear fixes the connections loss issue.

Great Router for Gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wi-Fi speeds just boosted up, before I used to get 100 mbps tops... now it maxes out on around 450mbps. Good reliable signal strength and also good for wireless gaming. Really recommend.

Great for starting a smart home
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product works awesome. Can already tell my speed has increased and I haven’t change my download speed with Comcast. All my devices work well on the router and setup was easy.

Could not get a wifi signal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hooked this up, and could not get a reliable wifi signal. I had to try and set u manually because the app asks for a QR code to be read with the phone and alas there was no QR code to be found anywhere on the router or packaging. While setting up with phone app, I would continually lose signal. Then, I tried to rename and give new passcode and signal was lost completely. I then attempted to plug PC into it to change setting via the PC and that did not work. When trying to make changes, it would take 1-3 minutes to save changes. Returned and bought a different brand, and was up and running in less than 5 minutes.

Worth the cost
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this thinking it was just going to be a temporary fix. Turns out it exceeded what I was expecting. I initially thought this was just going to be another router that does the basics. Turns out this made a huge difference to my network. I now can fully reach my office and also have my wife and kids on the internet and not suck up the bandwidth. This makes sure I have enough bandwidth to keep me working and not hear the kids screaming about the internet being slow.

Great router, only one complaint
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always loved netgear products, they are very reliable and well built. Netgear is consistantly patching security risks with firmware updates. This router is no different, works better at traffic control than the AC1900/R7000 that I upgraded from. Only complaint is the box shows the router as having white lights but the lights are actually green. Also this one does not support light flashing with activity (hopefully a firmware update can fix the latter.)

Not great for the money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had high hopes for this new Wi-Fi 6 router. Specifically due to the large number of connections that Wi-Fi 6 should be able to handle. However this router was very difficult to set up. he required me to install and uninstall the Netgear app several times before i had a stable view of the device. Also it was unable to cover my whole home.

Affordable Wi-Fi 6 Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the Netgear Nighthawk RAX40 for a couple of days now and I absolutely love the coverage and speed performance it has given me over my old Nighthawk R7000. Netgear's RAX40 is designed to cover medium to large homes and it is capable of penetrating walls without breaking a sweat. The RAX40 sports an attractive design that really stands out when you first look at it. The setup process is really easy thanks to the Nighthawk App which you can download from Google Play store. The signal strength is much better than what I was getting with my Nighthawk R7000 and the latency has improved quite a bit too. I have more than 12 devices connected at all times to my router in my house and this router easily handles all of them. I have four laptops, three smartphones, two gaming desktops, two printers, and one NAS which I use to stream movies. With my R7000, I was getting around 130Mbps (download) and with the RAX40 I now get over 200Mbps (download). Pros + Attractive design + Fast speeds + Easy Setup + Affordable + Great Coverage Cons - Requires 802.11ax devices to take advantage - Not many devices available that support 802.11ax Overall, I am very happy with the RAX40 because it has eliminated all the dead WiFi spots in my house and it has also allowed me to get coverage in my patio and garage which I wasn’t able to before with the Nighthawk R7000. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who is looking for the an affordable 802.11ax WiFi router. The RAX40 will provide you fast speeds but only if you have a device that supports the new 802.11ax standard. The RAX40 is overkill for most people and it will certainly future proof you for a long time. The RAX40 will provide you will much more consistent download speds and the WiFi will be more reliable. I received this product from Netgear as part of a test and review program.

WiFi 6 for a great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely easy set up, took about 10 minutes with the Nighthawk app. Only gripe is that it seems to take a bit longer to restart than previous routers that I’ve had in the past. Upgraded from a 2in1 to this and a SB6190 and immediately noticed a difference.
