    Netgear Fails me twice

This little guy ended up being nothing but trouble for me. It did work okay for a little while out of the box but after less than a year it just stopped working all together. My modem was fired up and had internet coming into it but the router was not sending internet out. I did purchase a protection plan for this particular router and as a result was able to get some money back and purchase a different system. This is the second Netgear product that is just up and stopped working on me. I probably won't be giving them another chance

Wasn’t a good match for Apple Home. Horrible app and no phone support! Went around in circles trying to get help. Took it back and waiting for another brand.

Here is the summary. I purchased my first AX4 about a month ago. Like many others it started out strong. Then within an hour or two, the speed started dropping, the connection reset and it became unreliable. I finally broke down after firmware updates, calls with support and hours of frustration and returned my first unit. I tried the same model for the last 10 days. It is going back on Monday. It resets too often and the download rate peaks at about 10MBps per Speedtest. I bought a Linksys AC3200 and so far (about a week) it’s flawless.

It died after two whole days! I exchanged for another one and decided to spend the extra $20.00 on the warranty just to be safe. I hope the replacement lasts longer than the first one.

Worst router I've ever had to use

I've had so many problems with this thing I could type a novel. From it just not giving off a signal entirely, to it endlessly flashing a red led, to weak internet speed and where it'll even give off a signal but no devices can connect to it, etc. I've exchanged this unit twice now and I'm still experiencing the same issues. At first it seems like everything will be fine, however, mess with one setting in the router and the whole thing just dies and the only solution is to completely factory wipe the thing.

Got this router today. At first my 1gig internet over WiFi was 600mbps+ but after the first few speed tests the speed has been all over the place. The speeds are very inconsistent(100mbps to a high of 640 and down again) compared to a consistent 420-430 on my older router(Netgear X6). Find a deal on a wave 2 AC router while this new tech gets ironed out. Maybe the more expensive ones are better but not this one. Also, coverage isn't any better than my other router. Tested everything on S10+

Bought this Router July 19, 2019. Today is May 31, 2021 and the router no longer functions. Less than 2 full years at over $200 and it can no longer connect to the internet? That’s pretty ridiculous. I would definitely NOT purchase this product and if it speaks to the rest of the Nighthawk brand i would not recommend the brand. I certainly will not be purchasing from this product line again.

Radios kept shutting off, or ssid went back to default, or web interface would freeze going from page to page even if I wasn't saving changes. Tried multiple browsers, 2 different laptops. All this using a wired connection. Phone app never connected. Returning less than 24 hours after purchase.

Great Option for the Newest Wifi Specs

    Posted .

While not without its flaws, this is the most cost efficient way to get into the newest AX/WiFi 6 in a router on the market today. Here are some pros and cons. Pro + Sleek look will really stand out when you want it to but can also easily hide in the background due to its black finish. + Fast speeds! This thing can pump out some serious bandwidth to your devices due to the newest technologies. + Set it up and forget it. Once you get it set up, it should consistently work great for you without having to futz with it all the time. The best technology works with you and for you, and this is a great example. + Cheaper than other AX/6 options. Don't overpay for the new technology. Cons - Expensive (even if cheaper than other options). You can certainly find cheaper routers if you don't need the specific features of this model. - Setup can be labor intensive; it's not plug and play. - Not many end devices (phones, computers, etc.) even support AX/6, so it may be overkill right now. So, overall I think this is a great router that will get you blazing fast speeds and will future proof you for quite a while. It may be overkill for some so take that into consideration, but if you're excited about the features in this thing don't hesitate. I received this product to review as part of NETGEAR's First Look Review Program, but the opinions expressed in the review are solely mine.

1st time buying this product and it's not good at all. It wifi works for a short time then turns off until I factory reset it then it works for a short time and round and round we go. Working with netgear now hopefully it will get resolved.

Poor reception for the cost. Would’ve returned it buyback I thought it was my Internet provider. By the time I realized it was the router the 14 day policy was expired.
