Bought it to replace my old router. Gives me fast internet. No issues. Router gets me good speeds on my pc which i use a wifi antenna and my phone as well. My house isn't that big 1200 square feet. I get internet all around my house and the outside as well. I have about 20 devices connected. Tablets, tvs and phones and gaming consoles. No issues with connections.

Best router I've ever had. We went from a mostly working 150-200mbps to a steady and reliable 400-600mbps on the same internet plan. Easy to set up. Took about 30 minutes which I did before work.

This is my 3rd NetGear router over about 10 years. My second NightHawk. All I can tell you is they just get better and better. I am technically competent but by no means an expert. Startup was about as easy as you can get. I'm sure some technocrat will have something negative but I sure don't. Covers my 2500 sq ft home 3 bars and up. I am extremely satisfied.

Works well. Better than renting from a cable company. Pays for itself after about a year or so. Try and find on sale.

This is my second Netgear router. There was nothing wrong with my first Netgear router, I just decided it was probably time to upgrade since we have more wireless devices and smart TVs. They are easy to set up and maintain.

I've always liked Netgear network products. They have a reputation to uphold as one of the best manufacturers of network devices in the business. As my 8 year old router was starting to cough up more dust than bandwidth, I thought it was time for a change. And this is when I got the Nighthawk AX5300 Dual-Band WI-FI 6 Router. Let's see what gives: First and foremost, this is not a cheap router. It comes packed with a lot of newer tech, such as WI-FI 6E which is the latest, and fastest version of the WI-FI protocol and hardware. It also comes packed with easy to use, everyday functions such as parental controls, speed test, remote access and more. The router itself is a little bigger than other routers. It comes with 4 antennas, a power supply and a flat type Ethernet cable. There is no manual because... you don't need one! I have used my smart phone more than once to setup modems and routers. The difference is that the Nighthawk is *meant* to be setup using a phone or tablet. The setup/dashboard app (called Nighthawk App) is a tiny download, which will guide you through the entire process. It worked surprisingly well (Tip: before setup, remove the WI-FI access you have on auto-connect in your phone. It will allow the router to reconnect properly during the initial installation). Once installed and up and running, I decided to fire up the speed test utility provided within the app. It slashed my latency almost in half (72ms to 42ms average), the bandwidth is steady and I haven't had any random disconnection issues so far. The router comes equipped with your typical connection options: 4 Ethernet out, 1 Ethernet in, a reset button, an on/off button and a USB 3.x (which I imagine is to create a small local cloud storage). The LED's in the front give you most of the info you might need. Included is also a nice new feature called ARMOR. It's a subscription service (you get 1 year for free, after that you have to pay to keep it) which claims to block harmful programs and connections before they reach the devices attached to the router. I have no idea on how efficient it is, but the fact that you have to shell out money for it is a bit of a bummer. And talking about bummers, within the parental controls, Netgear advertises a premium version of the tool. That's already 2 things you'd have to pay on top of the hardware. Now, I could post speed test results, graphs and all kinds of fancy - yet pretty much useless stats, which say nothing about the router but much more about the connection quality of your modem and your ISP. But what I can give you is this: the Nighthawk router enhances the stability of your connections and lowers the latency significantly. The bottom line: The Netgear Nighthawk AX5300 is meant for streaming and online gaming, or for users who simply want a good router that is easy to manage and control. The only things I dislike are the subscription required for the ARMOR tool and the paid "premium" Parental Controls options. Aside from that, it's very likely one of the best options on the market. I highly recommend it.

The NETGEAR Nighthawk AX5300 Dual-Band Wifi 6 Router is an improvement in every way over its predecessors. I took down and my old router and disconnected my device connections. The devices were Tablets, computers, and Streaming Services. Next up I had to set up the new NETGEAR Nighthawk AX5300 with their new App. It was supposed to make things easier, and it did. After downloading the Nighthawk App, I followed the step-by-step instructions from my smart phone. Everything was user friendly and although it took about 15 minutes that was faster than if I had tried without the App. The Nighthawk App setup security measures, speed settings, passwords and eventually devices. And it looks pretty cool too! I have a close Gig broadband internet speed. Would I get faster downloading with connected streaming, tablets, computers, and printers? Before I dismantled the previous router, I did some speed tests. The average was 261 Mbps (average of 5 tests). Once the new NETGEAR Nighthawk was up and running with devices connected, the average speed was 472 Mbps (average of 5 tests). It was flying fast! It made a huge difference in speed and the streaming, tablets, computers, printers. Everything was faster and with upgraded security over previous router models. Could things get better? Yes, I did not need Wi-Fi mesh devices. Coverage is estimated at 2500 square feet. My house isn’t nearly that big and as I stated before, it was faster for all devices all over the house. Now that everything was setup, I went back to the App. Security automatically ran tests periodically and gave me updates as to the status of the router and devices. Everything has checked okay, and things ran well. In the App you there are sections for a Device Manager, Security, Internet Speed, Parental Controls, Wi-Fi Analytics, Wi-Fi Settings, Traffic Meters and even separate Guest Wi-Fi for privacy. Everything is at your fingertips with the Nighthawk App running the show. Overall, I am very pleased with the new NETGEAR Nighthawk AX5300 Dual Band Wi-Fi router. It does everything better than its predecessor. The Speed, number of devices, the App and 2500ft coverage is all impressive. With its faster speed, I can watch my streaming services without interruptions. There is no lag time on my computers or tablets. Pick up the Nighthawk and enjoy what speed and protection can do for you!

I was excited to receive this NETGEAR Nighthawk router for our home needs. I did have some technical issues getting it set up, as I had thought it was a simple plug-in-play device. Connecting it to my modem was simple and downloading the corresponding app was easy. This is where I ran into some trouble as my devices were not able to pick up the router. It took me a while to figure it out and once it was up and running I was amazed at how well this router is. First, you are provided the NAME and PASSWORD for your device which ‘helps’ so that you are not using the same from previous devices. The router also has 5 additional ports for devices you want to connect. I added a hub for my Philips Hue light devices. Also, I noticed that there is a standard wifi site, a 5G and a guest site. This is very helpful when we have visitors come over. You are stated a range of 2500ft and it is really noticeable. My home is only 1600 sq feet and I get amazing coverage in all areas of our home, our backyard and in the driveway. With that, the speeds of this router are incredible. My previous router had only 226 mbs download speeds (at best) with the multiple devices connected. The Nighthawk was giving my well over 350 mbs. We were all very pleased with this as the increase of home learning, browsing, smart devices require so much from the router. Where the Nighthawk truly shines is the app. You have so much helpful tools on here to get the most from your wifi experience. Through the app I can see all of my connected devices, manage them from away (which I do when at work). There are parental controls which you do have to subscribe to, and NETGEAR Armor that helps protect your network. I found this very helpful as it would scan all of your devices to see if there are any threats. The only issue that I found is a personal one: I just wished I had the choice of creating my own password. With thatC it’s been painstakingly frustrating re-connecting my smaller devices to this network (Home security, printing, etc). Other than that, it’s been an absolute joy having this enhance our online experience. The family is happy that their gaming and entertainment experience has shown remarkable boost while on at the same time.

Before I purchased this router my 800 mb/sec i paid for was only giving me around 300 - 400, which is good, but not what I was paying for. Now I consistently get in the 900’s which is awesome.
