I replaced an older router that began having problems. At first I bought an Asus router, and could not get it to work. After hours of trying, including calls to Asus, I decided it was time to try a different router. The very helpful sales associate at Best Buy recommended a Netgear for ease of setup. I bought this router, had it set up in about 30 minutes and it has worked perfectly. The app for setup is intuitive and useful. The speed of the router seems strong. I highly recommend this router.

I have a large house with many devices connected to wi-fi at any given point. The speed of data transfer is incredibly fast - better than I expected. The unit is located upstairs and cover the entire house (about 2700 square feet downstairs). The device is easily controlled with the mobile app. Easy install and set up, just took a couple of minutes. High level security for all connections. I highly recommend this to you.

This router does every thing as described. Setup was a breeze, we have about 17 devices connected to the router. Even though the router is not ideally place (ie up high and in the middle of our home) we get complete coverage using 5ghz, and our home is 1900sqft. I highly recommend this router if you are looking to update your old one or installing for the first time.

We moved and I needed to get router that would not only handle the new plan we are on with our ISP (higher speeds) but have greater range. Being a previous Netgear customer this was really a no brainer. It not only handles the speeds but I get the range I need in our new house. Easy to setup and works great.

Great speed I was able to get 850mbps vs direct connect on modem was 900mbps. Lost could be due to other things. Can connect many devices I have about 15 items actually connect at all times and another 10 that goes in and out of the house all of the time, it works great haven’t had any IP conflicts yet. WiFi coverage area is good covers about 2000sqft. Let’s you know when devices connect to your network. Scans devices to ensure not a threat. Blocks out sites which it thinks will harm your device. Setup is slow took about 2 hours with all of the rebooting etc. app connection is super slow to respond to changes. Just use wired connection and the router ip to set and adjust. If you are not techie then don’t get this because setup is going to be painful it is not a plug and play device. The site blocking had blocked the kids school book fair site, and even after I added the site to the do not block list it keeps blocking…so not sure what thats about…not other issues.

We had to purchase a new router because our old one was having issues and with Covid-19 we needed a consistent connection for Microsoft teams, zoom, and our family’s work at home. We were having issues lag on multiple applications that require internet. I had a internet package that advertised 500 mb down and 25 up and I called because I thought I was getting ripped off as I only speed tested 350 down even when the other router was working properly! Anyway swapped out the old Netgear router for the new AX5400 and I achieved the speed my provider advertised! I have only had it a week but it does do everything as described. Fast, great range over the entire house, multiple device, and simple to set up.

TL;DR: Great router, rock solid and going strong. Except for Netgear support (more below). Recommended! Long review: I was skeptical about Netgear, my last Netgear router didn't last very long, about a year and had issues (just minor at the start). Fast Forward a year ago and i bought a Netgear DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem and that thing is rock solid with no issues (except when Comcast thought that an issue with the modem, it wasn't), still to this day performing well so i said since that worked well how about their routers. In short great! Well when i first powered this thing up, it booted fast (at least faster than my old Linksys) and I haven't had to reboot it yet (my old Linksys required consistent rebooting). Still going strong, very happy. Pros: - Wifi 6 (802.11ax) - USB 3 port - Large but not excessive - LIGHTS!!! (a bigger plus there's a light for every network/usb port!) I like seeing what is going on, our old Linksys had no lights except a orange globe when the internet when down, ok I know some like to hide their routers, I know to some it may not matter but it certainly does to me. - Admin reset: You can reset your admin password if you forget it without resetting your router. Be careful about the questions and answers you provide! - Coverage in our two bedroom apartment was great (get full signal in the whole apartment. This allowed us to get rid of extenders. Cons: - Support: You get a year warranty but must pay for any kind of support AFTER 90 DAYS!!! Which you need to do to get a replacement if you ever needed one, I would recommend a Geek Squad extended warranty its cheaper and easier to work with (saved me when Comcast thought the issue was with my cable modem, which it wasn't, what a lifesaver it was). - Antennas: BE CAREFUL ABOUT PLACEMENT! There are four in the box 2 labeled rear and 2 labeled side, make sure you don't mix these up. They are also labeled on the antennas themselves if you lost the packaging or cant remember which is which. - Heat: Gets warm but not hot. My last Linksys would feel hot to the touch. - App: Not really a con but I like the old school way of setting up a router, https://192.168.1.1 and boom all set up. I know others may like the app since we may be approaching the day when households may not have desktops (or even laptops for that matter) and may also like the convenience but the setup page works on phones (and what info does the app store on your phone anyways *paranoid*?) but I usually disable remote admin by wifi anyways.

I bought this Wi-Fi router as many of my IoT devices were randomly disconnecting. I used Apple’s Airport Utility to scan my Wi-Fi networks signal strength and found areas that were at or close to -65db. I had 2 SSID’s for 2.4 and 5 ghz being broadcast and I wanted a mesh router that could do the same thing. Luckily, this router enables you to have separate SSID’s and another one for guests. I kept the SSID’s names the same as my Comcast modem/router. When I scanned the signal strength again, I found a 10pt difference in signal strength, so no more lost connections. I am pretty happy so far as I have a 2 story 2500 sq ft home with over 30+ devices and this Wi-Fi router is located next to my Comcast modem and I now have better coverage. I also believe this router is only supposed to connect 25 devices and it has had no problems connecting more.

    Netgear Nighthawk AX5400 Router Review

The Nighthawk AX5400 was easy to setup and activate. Once activated, my PC connected to the internet quickly and smoothly. Some wifi devices connected automatically and some had to be manually reconnected by re-entering the network name and password, or by the WPS button. All went smoothly. The Nighthawk app. for the cell phone is a nice feature. Neatgear Armor is another layer of protection for my network adding to the antivirus programs on our individual computers. This router replaces a 5-year old Netgear router. Internet speed is faster and smoother. Gaming is faster and smoother. Picture and audio quality of movie and music streaming is greatly improved.

We were having WIFI issues in our home and our Internet provider found that our router was not working properly. It was several years old and old technology. So we went to multiple websites and read reviews and decided to get a Netgear Navigator for our 2000 square foot, one story home with exterior decks, pergolas, etc. where WIFI would be needed. The Netgear Navigator WIFI Router was very easy to add to our system, directions were easy to follow. It immediately worked giving us a very strong signal. We have 2 large screen Smart TVs, 2 iPhones, 1 IPad, and often devices from grandchildren, connected at any one time with no problems. We would not hesitate to buy the Netgear Nighthawk WIFI 6 Router again…great product.

OMG! The setup was soooooooooo super easy!! Download app, plug it in and follow the prompts. I strongly urge you to use the same name for your wifi you used on router you are replacing. Made it super easy for everything to connect easily. Important when you have 25+ gadgets to connect to wifi. The speed is amazing and noticeable! Granted I just hooked it up last night, but I am very optimistic about the future. Netgear has about a 1 year warranty and I always get the Geek Squad. I'm one happy camper!! Great coverage inside my 2800sqft house and out back around the pool!

Easy to install. Works well. The router is working very reliably, but does not completely reach all the corners of our 2,500 square-foot house. If it had, would give it five stars. Caution to take care when prompts present as "Netgear Support" after purchase. We had a time getting out of one which had seemed legitimate and promised 24/7 support, but was only available from 9-5. Very pleased with this purchase overall.
