I did a lot of research when selecting this router. There were several similar models offered at varying price points. Pay attention to the model number. This unit reaches every square foot of my home (2600 sqft approx). The speeds are upwards of 100 mg on wifi and 450 on wired. The app is great. It tracks usage, speed by room, channels, security, and parental controls. Guest wifi feature as well. We have Round 30 devices connected at a time and spend a fair amount of time gaming

Saw good reviews on the Nighthawk series from different PC sites, so I went to Best Buy, and there are...no kidding...10 different types of 'Nighthawks' !! We have 10 devices, while not on all the time, we still get fantastic coverage (3500 sq ft) house and over 850MB/S speed!! Did I mention the fantastic parental controls, we have teens and between the PC and school....we know who usually wins.
You can create a profile per child and set up separate bedtimes, total computer time, etc...all from the convenience of your smartphone!! This router is well worth it in my opinion!!

I have usually always used Netgear. Purchased the Netgear Nighthawk Dual Band and it has excellent quality. I’m just learning the new app technology and updates that are offered on the newer routers. Once I get that all figured out I’m positive I’ll enjoy it even more especially with the extra options it has that the old ones didn’t. Thank you for making it simple to upgrade devices and the quality. I recommend these routers, in fact bought more as gifts this holiday for family and a friend!! Happy Holidays!

So i purchased this router because Amazon Prime Video updated their app. And for some reason I couldn't get on the app. Using any of my Samsung products, my 2 tvs and my 2 cell phones. I tried everything the techs told me to do to no avail. Than I thought maybe its the router because its from cable and I've had it for many years. Well not only was the Nighthawk super easy to set up but I was also able to watch Prime video again. Another major plus was the fact that my computer loaded so quickly. I'm extremely happy with this purchase. I thought I was spending a lot of money but with all the extra features of this router IT IS SO WORTH EVERY PENNY

I purchased the Nighthawk AX5400 router as my router of choice to ensure that network speeds were maximized from the initial ADSL modem/router combination, and to add an extra layer of security. This router has far exceeded my expectations in all areas--from ease of installation and setup to network speeds exceeding maximums of the original network. Highly recommended as a first and only router to those looking to purchase an excellent product, but without breaking the bank...

This is practically the next to the top of the line Netgear router and a nice introduction to the new world of Wi-Fi 6. This gadget works perfectly for my smaller, two person household with a gigabit feed. No problems with streaming or connecting anywhere in the house as well as in my large backyard while streaming music during bbq. Setup was easy and the app used for router administration works great. I recommend.

I bought this router becuase I was having ISP and power issues. My house is not grounded, so my electronics tend to die quickly. I was having issues with sustaining a connection, yet so it was time to buy a new one. After some research, I saw this was a newer router with WiFi 6, it is faster, and if you want to load your own provision of Linux, you can. Not recommended if under warranty. So, this is a fast, multiband, secure router, and I highly recomend it.

Excellent router, ever since I purchased the AX5400 every smart device in the house has been running smoothly and I have over 20 devices connected to our router with two people working from home on zoom conference calls, two gamers and two TVs constantly streaming shows and movies. The AX5400 is a champ and setup was simple. I was expecting the setup to take all day but I was done within 20 minutes. The price is a little high but it’s worth every penny.

Solid performance and stable firmware so far

I bought this to replace an aging Nighthawk R7500v2 that was starting to require regular reboots, even with the most current firmware. My internet service provider plan is a (relatively) modest 200Mbps down / 20Mbps up, so this router isn't noticeably faster on a given device than my R7500v2. However, so far it seems to be much more stable, particularly when more than one video call is in progress.
All of our household devices (several laptops, desktops with wireless cards, smart speakers, thermostat, 4K TV, security cameras, consoles, etc) seem to be happy with it. Coverage in my small (< 1200 sq ft) house appears to be a bit better, especially on the 5G band. The usual Netgear provisos apply; both the admin console and the app are annoyingly slow for a device in this price range, but I almost never touch them so it doesn't really bother me.
Value is subjective. At the time of writing, it's kind of expensive - but pretty much every AX router in this speed range is expensive, many much more so. All of my previous Netgear routers have lasted me 4+ years, so if this one lasts that long, I'll be happy. If you don't need mesh, and you need to replace a similar older unit immediately, this seems solid. For what it's worth - given that I keep my routers for at least several years - I judged it a better buy than the RAX40, even given the higher cost.

This router works extremely well. Price point is high, $300, but when I went into the store there were two routers left. The shelf was bare, so I had no other choice. Glad I went with this router though, because it suits our needs. We have a 3000 square-foot house and it reaches all the way upstairs to both kids rooms, along with the office, and the family room. We are all online at the same time. I would definitely recommend this
