Upholds bandwith and speed of provider
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I enjoy this router over my Nighthawk it replaced. The only complaint I have now is that I enjoyed the Circle app compadability of the Nighthawk as it kept sites blocked automatically without me adding each manually through router settings.

I don’t know why I can’t get great coverage throughout the house but It does work well just not great especially coming from something this expensive

Fast & can handle ~30 wireless devices
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Expensive, but it's money well spent if you have plenty of 5Ghz devices. Fast with better 5Ghz range my previous R7800...It was having 5Ghz congestion and/or heat issues. The RAX120 does get pretty hot as well, but it's easier to cool thanks to well placed heat sinks and vents. Built-in active cooling is nice, but I placed an additional USB fan underneath just in case & it's running cool as a cucumber. I don't think I have any WiFi 6 devices so there all 8 5Ghz + 4 2.4Ghz streams to alleviate any congestion. You can read up on the RAX120 vs RAX200 differences.

Worst Product I Ever Bought, and Worst Support.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have been purchasing computer products for 40 years. For the last 20 years, always loved Netgear routers. After this product, will never buy any Netgear product again. $500 piece of junk. Bought it last summer, wifi was terrible, very slow, problems connecting. Netgear support thought it was a lemon. Sent me another. Same problems. Sent me a third. Same problems, but they played around with the settings for one hour so that it worked well enough for me to just accept the pitiful performance. Since then, just a nightmare. Almost every day, 5G network randomly drops connections, randomly disappears for anywhere from 1 to 24 hours, randomly slows down to a few MB per second (480 Mbps out of the back of the router at all times, and 150-180 Mbps normally on my workstation when 5G is working, so clearly a wifi firmware problem). And even the 2G network frequently slows to less than half normal speed (sometimes down to 5 Mbps, normally 40-50 Mbps, weak performance but at least usually working). Had to buy the annual Netgear "support" contract because the product worked so erratically and poorly. Most of the time, a full modem and router reboot fixes the problem, with reboots required almost every day, sometimes several times in one day. Have called Netgear support double-digit times, with average call time 1 hour, for them to try to adjust my settings to make the wifi work better. Every time, same routine, first bring laptop to router and test wifi speed, then connect to back of router and test speed, wasting my time. Every time same results. ITS THE WIFI FIRMWARE. It stinks, and Netgear is not finding the right people to fix it. Today, same garbage with 5G on my workstation. Called Netgear support, wanted me to go through the same routine. Tired of it, and told her so. But, "Can't get you to Level 2 support until we correctly complete a full case ticket." Let her know this was the worst product I ever bought, wished I never did, and don't want to purchase any more Netgear products because of it. While I'm booting up a laptop to go through the same garbage, as it was a desktop workstation I was working on, which I am not going to "move next to the router," the line goes to dead air. From their end. Call back support. They hang up. Call back support again. They hang up again. Trash product. Trash support. Not sure this kind of a company deserves to be in business anymore.

Amazing Router for Early Adopters
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great router, easy to setup and install. They need a dark mode for the web interface and I would love to see an SFP+ Port for 10G connectivity to 10G switches.

Just Awsome!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had continuous lag and disconnects while gaming and streaming using our Internet providers equipment. Thanks to the Netgear Nighthawk RAX120, these issues were completely resolved. This radio is a beast. It has a powerful processor, handles 12 streams simultaneously with ease, has the extended signal distance I needed. and uses Wireless 6 AX technology for the latest smart phones, etc. The Darth Vader Star Wars ship appearance is cool, too. It’s just Awsome!

Decent Speed, Drops Periodically
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 700 Mbps service at the modem. I get 400 Mbps via wi-fi in the same room as this router. Speed is decent. Coverage is average in basement and across the house which is through walls about 50 ft away. Setup was easy with Nighthawk app. Security is great, but the bitdefender security offered is relentless and annoying. You don't have to use it on your other devices so it's not a big deal. It might be nice for people that want it. I just don't want to pay for it continuosly. Overall, I think it's too much for the performance, but I don't know for sure if other options would be better.
