Good product, bad company

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It took NETGEAR support staff close to 90 days to resolve a faulty hardware issue that was present since original purchase of a Nighthawk RAX120v2. Bluntly/honestly speaking, this consumed a very unrealistic amount of personal hours in dealing with what felt like half-baked solutions, custom firmware builds, and very slow support response times. When asked whether they would provide an additional 90 days of support for the replacement device (the customer pays postage), the short answer was buy more of our support services. The bottom line when buying NETGEAR is: you're not a valued customer, any QC issues are ultimately your problem to solve, and support services are really poor. I honestly shudder to think of how a similar situation would have unfolded for less tech savvy people (think parents/grandparents.) Your dollar is your vote, and I'd highly encourage you to elect another technology candidate.

Not worth the $

DNS doesn't work or stops working. Multiple Firmware updates with hopes of fixing. The blended 2GHz/5GHz auto change sounds awesome but I have to disconnect/reconnect iPhones because they must think they are still connected at other frequency. Don't get sucked into all the bells and whistles!

After only 4 months I can’t even go 2 days without dropping all connections…. For a Netgear $900 setup router modem and extender couldn’t be more disappointed… and after 3 months if it doesn’t work don’t even try and call Netgear unless you wanna pay to renew your monthly plan…. After complaining that it doesn’t work for 2 hours they finally fixed it to go out the next day again…. I use to own a Netgear nighthawk X6 AC3200 not bad just slower and range wasn’t far enough for the amount of walls to go through. Just because they make 1 good product doesn’t mean something newer will be better… I don’t see how people give this a 5 star….

Reboots 5-7 times a day

I believe its a firmware issue but non the less about 5-7 reboots a day. Not sure what is making it reboot because the logs are getting cleared every reboot. Would stay clear of this.
