Works great for our sound booth at church. The previous one died unexpectedly and had to be replaced ASAP. Had to be able to connect a sound board and multiple iPads via a locked down network for remote mixing and this is working perfectly. Will be ordering another when there is another sale for our restricted use office area.

My one year warranty is almost up and my router likes to drop the 2.4 GHz band. Not a big deal for the iPad but since just about every smart home device connects on the 2.4 GHz band, it’s a big deal. I did the factory reset and all the usual troubleshooting before contacting Netgear. Their tech support had me do everything again plus jack with the MTU to no avail. We agreed the 2.4 radio was on the fritz. It’s been two weeks since and nothing but silence from Netgear. I update Case # 44913346 and Case #44913450 daily asking if Netgear is going to do anything, nothing but silence. I think they’re delaying until the warranty expires or hoping I go away. Maybe instead of a “form reply”, Netgear can give me a useful reply here?

    Very frustrated with video buffering

I have DSL 80 Mb connection. Not super fast but easily fast enough for video to play without buffering. I bought a NetGear Nighthawk AX6000. I was excited to connect my TV to it and watched some videos, but noticed a lot of buffering (YouTube, Netflix, and Disney+). I never had buffering connecting directly to the DSL modem. I started capturing internet speeds between my DSL modem and my new router. Many times the new router performed better than the modem, but there were quite a few times the modem did better than the new router. When the modem out performed the new router, it wasn't close. I am talking about the modem would get 30 mb/sec and the new router would get less than 2 mb/sec. Also, I ran the speed check, from the Nighthawk app, the initial speed appears to be slow, but subsequent speeds are much faster. I put my TV back on my DSL modem, because the buffering was so bad.

I bought this and a netgear docsis 3.1 modem, to replace my xfinity gateway where I have gig speed service. It didnt work; service was quite slow, many items wouldn't connect or had weak connections. Its performance was a fraction of my xfinity gateway. But mostly, the problem is Netgear support. Its only at overseas call centers, and I spent much of the day with a number of people, and finally just gave up. I returned the item and replaced it with same. The new one works somewhat better, but still is nowhere near acceptable. I will have Geek Squad or others work to resolve once the pandemic is passed. Given the poor performance, and total lack of netgear support, I would not recommend purchasing any netgear product in the future. Very disappointing.

Upgraded from the RAX50, We have many wifi devices once you account for the IOT devices like smart bulbs etc. With the RAX50 there would be random connection drops but once getting everything connected to the RAX120 speeds have been consistently faster and no dropped connections.
