3rd time is a charm!

The wifi has been steady and the design of this router is also really cool!

Terrible - Tried 2 and both failed

Admin app will not work 90% of the time. Netgear support is worthless --- tried unplugging??? It must be your ISP, etc. etc. Returned it and bought a 2nd one. Exact same results. Returned it and bought an ASUS GT-AC11000 and it has worked flawless right out of the box.

Poor Quality Control

If you're thinking about purchasing this router do some research into random rebooting/power loss on the latest netgear products. They seem to be plagued with them. This item was replacing a faulty power issue nighthawk mesh system that kept losing its connection with the satellites. From the moment of installation there was nothing but problems. Random reboots every 30 minutes. Checked the traffic meter and logs to see if anything popped up, nothing. It seems that the router gets so hot it shuts off. Tried putting my laptop cooling pad underneath it, not a solution just a bandaid. 45 minute reboots. Thought it could be a defective product, so I bought another one from a different location. SAME EXACT PROBLEM. Ended up going with the ASUS ROG wifi6 router, have had zero problems since. This was the last time I will EVER be buying a netgear product.

Buggy, unstable firmware.

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've tried to make it work for the past 3 weeks, but unfortunately the firmware (as of this writing V1.0.0.84) is hopelessly broken. I replaced TP-Link AC5400, which worked flawlessly. The moment I installed the NetGear and without changing anything else my problems started. Network disconnects, wild speed fluctuations, from 10Mbps to 850Mbps (I am on a Gig Internet). After a reboot the speed would go back to normal for a while and drops again. Sometimes a download would completely stop until I reconnect etc. I am returning it to the store, my suggestion is wait for new firmware updates and more extensive reviews. For this price it's a shame.

TOOK A FULL DAY OF MY TIME TO RESOLVE BECAUSE TAKES A HIGH LEVEL SUPPORT TECH TO RESOLVE. OWNED FOR 4 MONTHS, NOW CANT EVEN WATCH HULU ITS SO SLOW. CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS ONLY GOOD FOR 90 DAYS AND OF COURSE IM BARELY OVER THAT. THE ROUTER COMES WITH A 1 YEAR PARTS WARRANTY BUT IF YOU CANT USE CUSTOMER SUPPORT AFTER 3 MONTHS YOU ARE STUCK CHATTING ON A "COMMUNITY" SITE FROM THE NETGEAR WEBSITE WHERE ANYONE CAN GIVE YOU ADVICE . IM NOT A COMPUTER GUY BUT I WAS ABLE TO FOLLOW ALL OF THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS. CALLED NETGEAR SUPPORT 2 DAYS AGO, I WAS TOLD LEVEL 2 SUPPORT TECH WOULD CALL BACK. HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM THEM. JUST FOR THE RECORD, I LOVE BEST BUY AND WILL ALWAYS BUY MY ELECTRONICS FROM THEM, CANT RECOMMEND NETGEAR DUE TO THE ISSUES LISTED ABOVE.

This will solve a lot of your high demands and needs!

Was nice while it lasted

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So, I purchased this router in September 2021 and now it’s February 2022 and it needs to be replaced. You would think after throwing money at an expensive router you would get longevity but you don’t. Then when you try and claim it under the warranty it says the device is no longer under warranty. Basically it works but will shut off randomly losing connection for about 5 min before reconnecting. So buy at your own risk. Netgear is not getting anymore of my money.

Absolutely great product

We have a 2200 sq. Ft. Home with over 20 connected devices and this beast handles everything with ease to include party’s where as many as 20 additional devices are connected.

Fast but Reboots Constantly

It's blazing fast but it reboots constantly and at the most inconvenient times. This appears to be a common issue as their are many forum posts via a quick web search. There also appears to be no known solution. I'm returning it this weekend as the constant rebooting is unacceptable for a brand new $400 router.

Setup was relatively straightforward, but the range wasn’t nearly as good as what we had in our home (5000 sq ft) even with extenders. Speed did not improve either. For the price, the “upgrade” wasn’t worth it.

Also updated modem. Updates on your phone. Security feature is great to for a fee. But has blocked threats on trial run. Well worth the money

Much better than any google WiFi product and better application. I wish it had the ability to prioritize certain devices easier.

Horribly unreliable

Fast internet connection, can handle many devices, etc. The issues start popping up after a week or two. In my home I have 2 MacBooks, 3 iPads, 2 iPhones, and 2 Chromebooks that connect wirelessly. There are two that plague this device: * Random disconnects. I've had a Chromebook and an iPad randomly just disconnect. The SSID broadcast frequency is pretty low so it takes a while for the device to find the network and reconnect. * Timeouts. The device appears to be connected. Going into the router settings, however, doesn't show that the device in the connected devices list. This has happened to my iPhones and iPads. I have to cycle my WiFi off and on to properly reconnect. These problems will occur several times an hour, sometime within minutes of each other. Netgear support is also terrible. Hours of hold times. Despite the fact that I had this device RMA'd (at my own expense for shipping), the replacement device is doing the exact same thing.

Very good!

Wi-Fi 6 is the future of the router stability range superior distance to all Router.
