Simply Terrible, Horrible, Trash - Stay Away
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure how it gets such positive reviews. The internet is full of reports about the same problem and not just this router but most of Netgear's current line. Look it up on their support forums. In perfect conditions it CAN NOT, WILL NOT, under any circumstances, setting, channel, etc., maintain either an 802.11 AX or 802.11 AC connection on 5 GHz. It will not do it, period. You can be 10 feet away with perfect line of site. The 5 GHz AX connected clients would randomly drop performance by a factor of 100 times or just totally disconnect. The 5 GHz AC client would every so often all drop at once, along with the AX clients. Usually about 10 to 20 times per day It will for a while, and you'll be amazed at getting 900 Mbps WiFi. You'll be good for 10 minutes or an hour if lucky. 802.11 AX on 2.4 GHz does work well, but if you have gigabit service, what's the point of being limited to 100 Mbps for a stable connection on a devices that costs this much. The Web UI is also crude and slow. The app is lacking in features one would expect at this price range. Only positive is it makes for a nice Star Wars model. I'd love to act out the scene from Office Space on this device. I want the time of my life back I wasted trying to get something this expensive to actually work. I feel let down by Best Buy as most of their in-store routers are Netgear. Never again will I buy anything made by Netgear again.

The Nighthawk is excellent

When it works, it’s great....when it works
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Random reboots, disconnects of lan ports, and on and on. When it worked, I saw all the promised speed including near 1g download speeds on my new iPhone. However after hours with tech support and only getting temporary fixes, I had to throw in the towel. It might have just been my specific device but for the kind of money I spent, I expected reliability. It might be awhile before I try a Netgear product again.

Keeps Resetting Itself
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this router to upgrade my old 10 year old night hawk that I was super happy with. However this new router keeps automatically rebooting itself multiple times a day, even in the middle of a Netflix show, do not recommend. Wish I saved the box so I could return it. Absolute junk and waste of money.

Worst Router I've owned
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router is fast and has nice features, however it loses the internet connection often and the worst part is that it requires a full power down and restart to connect back to the internet. I need a router that maintains a reliable connection to the internet. I had the linksys wrt3200acm it also would lose its connection from time to time. However it would reconnect on its own.

Avoid this router! Unexplained reboots.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I so very much wanted to like this router, but ultimately I had to abandon hope of finding a solution to this router's main problem. It will randomly reboot. There are hundreds of threads online of people troubleshooting this router. Each suggesting a different 'fix' that they think might work. Upgraded firmware, reset to factory, plug into a different wall socket, plug into a battery UPS, disable this feature, that feature, blah blah blah. I tried EVERYTHING for 4 months, but eventually, it would reboot, taking the whole house offline (and we work from home). The absolute worst part, and the reason I won't buy another netgear product, was when I finally gave up and attempted to ask netgear support about it. I opened a ticket online, and they say to call within 24 hours or the ticket will be closed. So I call in, and the voice says I have to wait 24,286 minutes. 24 THOUSAND minutes. I waited for about an hour and gave up. The TLDR here is the router reboots, netgear support is unreachable, and seeing as I'm 4 months out from purchasing this, I'm out $350. Get the Asus RT-AX88U instead.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me say i have been using netgear for home networking for years and and my not a novice nor an expert ( I know just enough to hurt myself and out think most tech support script readers. Picked it up in April to upgrade my network along with a CM1200 modem. Was working till November, then it started crashing. Called for support and BOUGHT some more tech support to get help(warranty was done). Trouble shot and they could not so anything to get a stable connection. Got a Factory Refurbished replacement that work great for a about a month. The it started to crash OVER and OVER and OVER again. Been forced to go back to my previous Netgear router that is totally stable. It’s struggling with the bandwidth we use now with home school and work and also limits my bandwidth by half of what I pay for. TOTAL JOKE AND A WASTE OF MY MONEY SO DISAPPOINTED WITH NETGEAR AND THIS TRASH I’M STUCK WITH!!!!!!
