Extremely disappointing for the cost. Drops wifi.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is brand new, updated firmware. It's dropping wifi every now and then. It has dropped wifi at least 3 times a day and I've only owned it for 2 days. I'll update my review if this thing decides to start working for an entire day but I doubt it at this rate. It will be returned as defective soon.

Trash
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this!!! It doesn’t work. I have tried multiple. And they flat out don’t work. It will restart itself atleast once a hour or usually more. I wish I would have returned this when I had the chance but instead I got with netgear support and they tried sending a few replacements and they don’t work! Don’t make the same mistake I did buying this e-waste.

Crash and Burn
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always had good success with Netgear products. This is my 5th Netgear router, but this is a bad experience. Operating system crashes frequently with minor load. I am on current version of firmware. I reached out to Netgear Support a week ago, but no response. Operating system crashes appear to be common with the RAX120 model based upon message boards.

Netgear missed the mark
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product boasts great specifications, But significantly fails to deliver due to poor availability. It reboots multiple times a day and has cost me significant time trouble shooting as well as inconvenienced my entire household. I usually stand by netgear and have bought multiple products from them. Their tech support has been unable to help with my issues. Glad I purchased the Best Buy product replacement for this one as I will soon be returning it.

Not for me.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I update my routers every 2-3 years to stay on top of the technology. Considering that a router is probably the most important tech in a persons house right now I’m will to pay any price for better then normal results. This router is not what I was looking for. It’s very hard to set up and the single was sub par at best. My previous router was an AMPLIFI single unit without the antennas. I returned the Netgear and purchased the new AMPLIFI Alien which is no doubt the best that I’ve seen thus far. Good luck.

Buggy, has to be rebooted constantly
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Handles devices well and good through put but has to be rebooted at least twice a day for wifi to work. Note 10 (wifi 6) shows connected to WiFi but no internet but is fixed with reboot for couple hours only. Same with non-wifi 6 devices like firesticks. Big disappointment for new and expensive device to be so buggy. Mobile app is basic as well but does allow for reboot.

Do not buy..
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Second replacement router. And it is still dropping my WiFi multiple times a day. You have to unplug it and wait. I replaced my modem, called my internet provider, even thought it was my cell phone acting up. IT WAS THE ROUTER. Taking it back and trying another brand. Stay away from this router unless you want no WiFi all day and night. My cameras going offline history says how many times it loses WiFi. If you buy it please buy the warranty so you can take it back because you will.

Buy Something Else
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Couldn't even provide Wi-Fi to an 1800 sqft home. Intermittently dropped packets and did not consistently provide 1 GBps as advertised. Would constantly drop to 20 MBps down. Of course I didn't get the extended warranty because I've never had problems with Netgear. Plugged the replacement Arris I purchased and it works like a charm.

Very expensive for half baked technology
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hoping for a solution to many network devices in a large house. AX wifi and this model attempt to do that. At this time, it gets an "F". While it connected to most of the 28 network devices, 2 of them consistently dropped and 3 of them connected at so slow of a connection speed that they didn't function. Regular connections were much slower than my previous AC routers. Netgear itself said that they were still doing Beta testing and they couldn't sufficiently support it. I returned it and went with the Nighthawk AC4000.

Awful product - unreliable - poor customer support
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am going to write this off as a loss and get an ASUS router. this would have been the 3rd netgear router I have had. the others were just ok but this one is just plain junk. I will never rely on Consumer Reports for a recommendation.

Either user error or a waste of money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the best Router available to be able to cover my security system and have solid WiFi both in my workshop and in my house that is at most a total of 2,500 sqft. My WiFi connection in my workshop is as bad as my regular cell service which is awful as well. Connects and disconnects constantly. Shows that the WiFi signal is full bars and then as soon as I connect it drops down to one or two. This routers suppose to be able to stream up to 12 devices.. it has trouble handling my tv and cell phone.
