Internet speed drastically increased. I have about 20 devices. No lag on any devices when all in use. Incredible. Highly recommend.

The Nighthawk router is packed full of features; though, it was the easiest router I've ever set up. The iPhone app works well and covers most task that you would want. I have a 1gig FIOS connection and was using Fios Quantum Gateway, and after switching to the Nighthawk, my speeds went from 250-300mb to a constant 800-900mb.

I was running a Netgear AC1900, Model R7000 and it just couldn't keep up with the connectivity demands of my household.
I convinced my wife that in order to get the speeds back up in our house we'd need to upgrade to a router that could handle the work load and demands from our devices. We purchased this router and we've never looked back.
It works exactly as advertised. Worth every penny.

This replaced an old, failing router of about 5 years. There was an immediate difference in internet speed across the wireless network. We have an average of 11 devices connected at any given time and it has no problem keeping up. Setup is super easy with the app. I would recommend a small mesh or wire stand for it because airflow goes down through a fan on the top

This router has the computing speed and ability to shoot out wireless signal pretty well. I had the R8000 (netgear) before this guy for 6 years and that router was a beast. I decided to scale up, not having any real problems with my wireless at home, except for the fact that I had added a lot more 2.4G devices. The AX12 has more capabilities to split the signals so I bought it. I definitely saw improvements with my 4K apple TV stream and other high signal hogs like my my Iphone11. So if you have upscaled on more devices over time, this will definitely help your network.
The netgear APP I must say, is pretty weak. Limited functionality build it. For example, with the old R8000 I was able to do more with QoS for streaming. For the AX12, the Qos is there, but not intuitively.
Migrating from old network SSID to new network SSID was ok, took a bit of tinkering, should have been a lot more easy. However, I was able to do it. I had the old 2.4G and dual 5G (1 and 2) bands, and then migrated to a signal NETGEAR53 SSID. I figured since this is a top notch router, it should "intelligently" decide what device should be on 5G and what device should be 2.4G. However, I found this to be an issue. It was placing high priority devices like my Iphone and Ipad on the 2.4G band. Also, some older devices like my old Ipad and Sony Laptop "could NOT join network" under the "Smart Connect" option. I called Netgear was on the phone for an hour tinkering and they couldn't figure it out. I finally fixed the problem, I took the smart connect off...maintained the SSID for the majority of 2.4G devices the same, and renamed my 5G band back to NETGEAR53-5G-1. I had to make the 2.4G security WPA2 instead of WPA3 in order for the older devices to work.
Overall, this router is a beast and it will be a good investment going forward and I expect years of good use and firmware updates.

Took it out if the box and installed it flawlessly. Took less than five minutes. Every corner of the house is covered. I have over 12 devices using it and non has skipped a beat.
One of the best things about it if you have it in a bedroom for instance is the low intensity lights. My old router would create too much light pollution. Best router I ever had. Highly recommend.

This is an amazing wireless router. I pay for 400mbps and actually get as much as 475mbps. It is easy to setup and has a nice appearance to it. It works great with all of my devices and connects to everything with no issues. No more buffering with my IPTV. Great improvement over my previous router. The app is a great addition to it as well.

Overall, this product has worked well in my house. I live in an older ranch home (built in 1970s) with a long layout. The standard AT&T router was not keeping pace in distant rooms. It also did not work well with multiple devices operating simultaneously (phones, streaming devices, etc). So far, the performance of my wifi has improved across the board.
I will note that this is an advanced router and the optimal set up with a cable modem may require changing several settings on your equipment depending on your provider. I was able to locate informative YouTube videos and Netgear tech support postings that helped me fix my issues. I am relatively tech-savvy so I did not find this difficult but it could be viewed as complicated for some.
Pros:
- Performance of wifi is greatly improved, especially with multiple devices on at one time;
- The Nighthawk app is great if you are looking for oversight and controls;
- Compatible with existing AT&T modem so no other equipment required.
Cons:
- Relatively large compared to some routers; and
- Optimal set up may require changes to advanced settings with cable modem.
Overall, I recommend for anyone looking for high-level router performance with capacity for multiple data-hungry devices.

We wanted an AX router to go with our new gigabit ethernet service. Loved the design of the router and the feature set. Especially loved the signal strength and wifi speeds we were able to get - around 500-600 Mbs for Wifi 6 devices, even in the farthest reaches of our single-story home. However, we had a couple of problems we couldn't get over. First, it had some issues dropping wifi connections on various devices at random times. It would only be a few minutes at a time, but annoying nonetheless. Second, the ethernet ports were a little glitchy - our TiVo (the only hard-wired device we own) would pixellate and stutter when we used web apps like Netflix and Hulu. Never had that problem with another router. For those reasons, we had exchange this one for another AX router (Linksys Velop), which is not as fast but performs more consistently.

This router is what I've been needing for my Smart TV's and over 30 wi-fi items in my home to include my doorbell cam and security cams. I'm pushing 1 gig of internet speed and need a good router to support it. This does so with ease and haven't had any issues after owning it for about a month now. No internet drops or lags. I'm very happy with this router.

It covers all corners of my house across multiple floors and there are times when the speed matches that of being on an ethernet cable connected to the cable router. The Netgear app is incredible as well giving control over individual devices connected to the router.

I love this router. I added two Netgear AX1800 Mesh Extenders (EAX20) for our large home. Setup was a snap for both router and extenders using app on iPhone. Coverage is amazing with blazing speeds. Highly recommend. Previously I used the Linksys Velop system - this is a marked improvement!

The router has been amazing and very impressed with the range and speed. It’s VERY expensive but I think worth it with an expected 5 year or so lifetime.
Remember though this thing is much larger than you would think and it does not mount on the wall with standard holes that come on most routers.

This router eats gigabit connections for lunch. It’s fast. It handles loads of traffic and performs well...once you disable the “smart connect” feature. Don’t use that, it’s not quick enough or stable enough yet. Maybe a future firmware upgrade will make that workable, but for now, it’s not great. Other than that, very happy with this product.

One of the fastest router's I've ever owned. Wifi 6 is the way to go. So far setup was a breeze, and it's been going strong since the day I bought it. The only thing I do not like is that you have to buy extra optional features to maintain network security that is built into the router.

I almost puked at the price but my guy said to get the best through several walls and 3 floors go for it. Ive hardwired iMac and MacBook Pro getting almost a complete gig and for strictly wifi Im running about 4 to 450 mbps through all floors and walls..WORTH IT. Set up took no time at all.
