Replaced an old Airport Extreme due to lack of security upgrades and support. This router provided significant improvement. It came with access to Armor which added a layer of protection and peace of mind to my network plus the devices that are attached. Space was an issue because this router is much larger than the old Airport Extreme but I was able to hang it on the wall that fit into the opening of my desk where the monitor fits. Problem solved. Very happy so far.

Don’t hesitate and just buy it. I’ve fought for years trying to get fast and reliable speeds, wirelessly, and struggled. The second I hooked this router up I was pulling near gigabyte speeds both hard wired and with Wi-Fi, though out the house. Having the Tri-Band to separate the devices is a great feature too. You won’t be disappointed.

I have owned Netgear routers for years and have not been disappointed. When we moved into our new house I wanted something that would carry strong signals throughout the house and handle the faster speeds from our ISP. This has been fantastic. Easy to setup and easily the best range of any router I have every had. Well done Netgear !

Easy to setup and none of my devices (old and new) have disconnected. Only issue I have is the limited VPN options. I have Gigabit Fiber and the speeds are the best if any router I’ve had. Very close to the actual speed I’m paying for. Range is great as well. Ready for those WiFi 6 replacement devices.

Many people just want (or Think they want) a cheap router ... and many are available, but they won't handle todays multiple devices (cameras, doorlocks, room lights, tablets, phones, etc ... to say nothing about 4K tv streaming, gaming .. and again . etc) I would consider this a mid priced AX router, at $300. Netgear Nighthawk is,arguably, the premium router. This is no exception. Easy setup, easy connectivity. Download speeds equal todays 1 Gbit speeds available from cable companies. Not ALL AX routers meet this standard ( I found that out). I am very happy, so far and expect this router to service my needs for the foreseeable future.

I bought both the Wifi Router and Wifi Extender to ensure all corners of my house are covered with optimum speed. I am not disappointed and would recommend these products to anyone. Set up is extremely easy and the app is simplified that anyone can navigate it.

I had a 6,000 square foot tri band 3 tower mesh system from linksys. Over time it would drop internet, lag during video games, & cause issues with my smart devices. After giving up hope, spending over $350 I am very happy to say that night hawk is the real deal. I had no issues during setup, I was even able to use my old WiFi name & password so I wouldn’t have to re connect to over 40 devices & with in minutes I had internet back up & running. Smart connect works flawless. Automatically putting my 40 plus devices on different bands my speed went from 80 on linksys to 490 on the nighthawk. I was paying for 500 speed & not even getting it. Linksys all settings were horrible & I couldn’t really set devices the way I wanted too. Nighthawk allows just that in a simple way that anyone can understand.

Great range, which is what I was looking for. I eventually bought this after looking at mesh systems with multiple extenders. Our old AC1200 router was constantly needing reset and with working from home we just needed better throughput and range. Our house is a 2 story home with 1100sq foot per story. This router is located on the first floor and has no significant drop in signal at any spot in the house. The outside signal remains strong at every spot in our yard which is 130' x'80. Our internet speed through our ISP is 50mbs and have no issue attaining those speeds in any location.
Cons:
1 Size...this thing is huge and hard to hide
2 Cost
3 No parental controls...seriously?
4 NetGear armor...I made it two days into the trial and disabled it. Way to many interrupting, useless alerts.
Would be 5 star if they included parental controls

Installed my RAX70 On a Friday and had trouble connecting with an existing network in my home. After an evening of working with it I called customer support on Saturday and within five minutes was connected with an expert who communicated well and was able to get me connected and registered within 10 minutes. I don’t want to set that expectation but I want to complement both the product in the customer support. After connecting with my existing network and adding two extenders I was able to achieve full coverage for an approximately 6000 square-foot home. A month later I still have astounding coverage and reliability. I am very pleased with the RAX70, the extenders and their support.

Bought this to replace my tplink AX6000 that was struggling with upload speed issues,, installed the RAX70 made a few adjustments and this thing runs flawless,,, side note if anyone is suffering from slower wifi speeds with this router, i would suggest disabling the Nethear Armor,, seemed to give me an issue when activated,, I will be sure to update when and if i find out why this was an issue,,, bottom line this has great coverage delivers the speeds it advertises and is stable with nearly 50 devices connected to it between wired and wifi, also tried out an external hard drive on the router and the transfer speeds are actually decent, I attached a HDD not an SSD and am seeing an average of over 100mbps across my network which is what the drive tests at connected straight to my pc

I've dealt with a lot of networking tech both at home and at work. This was, by far, the easiest setup. I took back a cheaper Netgear AX router that was a pain and never worked. This took minutes before I was up and running. Being able to add my network name and password is a great touch and eliminated any hassles of having to log into a new router from all my devices.
The speed improvement from my old R7000 router was impressive. The app is easy to use, although I do like logging in from a browser.
The look is cool and it's nice to not have to worry about multiple antennas getting loose or breaking off. It is a bit odd that if you put it on a flat surface, you can't see the LEDs. I'm also not a fan of how close together the ethernet ports are.
It's pretty pricey but I feel it's worth it right now. I'm happy and relieved it's working so well.

Router is 3.5 out of 5
I had issues in the beginning and thought about returning this router. I was impressed with the speed and range but I had to reboot thing every other day. To fix my issues I turned off QOS, something I usually keep enabled. Set channels my 2.4/5/5GHZ channels to 9, 48, and 100 (DFS) and this improved my connectivity and reduced router reboots. I've rebooted only once since I've made the Wireless and QOS changes.
Pros: I can get full ISP download speed (489 mbps) compared to my previous router 281 mbps. Wifi now reaches all three of my wireless cameras. Wireless in the basement now connects at 300 mbps instead of 144 mbps. Overall faster router with stronger wifi signal.
Cons: Turning QOS and router reboots to restore internet access. Price, this router should be $200 and not $300.

Picked this up when I needed to replace my combo modem/router I had been using. (Turned out I didn't *need* to but it finally pushed me to get a separate router.)
Setup's incredibly easy, the web and phone apps to configure it are simple enough to use, giving you plenty of information and control.
About the only complaint I could make is the wifi button on the front is not lit on its own and very easy to press while moving the router.
I'm quite happy with my purchase, its flexibility and its performance.

The Nighthawk router was easy to install, by my husband that is...I am not the technical person. He had it up and running in about 10 minutes. But before disconnecting your old router, don't forget to get your password so you are not searching for it while trying to access your internet. Prices are higher than they were when we last bought a router but this one is fine for higher speeds and bandwith and can handle the many devices that are needed today.

Good 4 Port Router With Wifi-6

Note: There are newer technologies out now would now cause me to not recommend this router. I suggest buying the newest technology over this old generation router.
That being said...
If you only need a Wifi-6 (802.11ax) router with 4 ports this is a great router. It is quick and easy to setup and their app allows you to give unique names to each device as it connects to your network. Most devices automatically get an icon but you can change it to one of many different icons as well.
I will say that if you put this in the corner of your house the signal might not travel to the other end of your house. Plan accordingly!

I purchased this router because my old router was capping at 300ish for upload and download with Google Fiber. I upgraded to this router and I'm getting up to 900ish upload and download. I wanted to get the best speed with my upgrade to Google Fiber. I also like the look of it - reminds me of an imperial shuttle from Star Wars. Also, the lights are not too bright which is nice when you're trying to sleep in your bedroom. And last, my daughter gets a great signal downstairs. She has no issues playing games or streaming movies.
