Replaced a previous AC1800 nighthawk router when we upgraded to 1 gbps fiber from Suddenlink. This thing really makes the most of the full connection that we have. In a home with 29 devices (smart plugs, ipads, macbooks, xbox series x, 2 phones, ring & nest) I've never experienced a lag or dropped signal even once. People complain they don't get the full internet speed, but it's generally because of their router. This is is more router has enough range that I can go across the street and still connect to my home wifi with zero issues. Speed tests out at 900+ mbps reliably!

I am thrilled with the capacity of this router. We never realized just how many devices needed to access wi-fi until we both began working from home and had both work computers and printers as well as personal computers and printers. That doesn't sound like a huge problem until everyone has zoom meetings they are hosting and the intermittent signal is making that impossible. WORRY NO MORE--this router has the capacity for everyone to have stable, blazing speeds while still being easy enough for anyone to install.

Super easy to set up and connect all my devices. I was having streaming lag issues and this seemed to have fixed that! We have a lot of smart devices and every runs seamlessly with this router. The Nighthawk app is user friendly and very informative.

Good 4 Port Router With Wifi-6

Note: There are newer technologies out now would now cause me to not recommend this router. I suggest buying the newest technology over this old generation router. That being said... If you only need a Wifi-6 (802.11ax) router with 4 ports this is a great router. It is quick and easy to setup and their app allows you to give unique names to each device as it connects to your network. Most devices automatically get an icon but you can change it to one of many different icons as well. I will say that if you put this in the corner of your house the signal might not travel to the other end of your house. Plan accordingly!

The router is very fast -- a very noticeable difference in speed. However, the software setting up the router is not easy and I have set up many routers. There is no number to call as with previous Netgear routers I set up gave a number ot call. To me, the directions were confusing and the Netgear website seemed to have issues. I finally found instructions that (in my words) if all else fails, then uplug the router to turn it off, turn it back on and reconnect the modem cable. Anyway, that has seemed to work and the modem seems very fast and the signal is a lot stronger than my previous netgear router and sends the signal to more area. Doesn't look like we'll need a mesh system.

Finally splurged for a more-than-needed-spec router to go with my 300mbps account and 40+ devices on my home network. It was long overdue. Streaming, working, internet browsing, security cameras, IOTs, and the list grows. It has plenty of range to leave the walls of my separate office and reach my home on a 1-acre plot. This mightly wing-thing can truly fly with the weight of my (little) world on its back. I also have a 3.1 DOCSIS Netgear brand modem to accompany this router. I would recommend this brand combo highly for households like ours.

Very easy replacement - Used my phone and renamed SID to my old SiD so almost everything reconnected with no interaction. Also, I no longer need my netgear extenders as this Routers range covers whole house plus backyard. I like the lights on the back as they were distracting on my old router. Speeds are good but I need to upgrade my service to truly utilize this routers capabilities. Only have 400 service right now. Overall great purchase and i would recommend.

This item has drastically improved my network. It allows 42 device connection, which is great. I have 3 kids with phone and laptops, plus 3 other gaming systems. Everything runs great with minimal lag. The range is amazing. I am able use the wifi in my metal roof shed out back too,

Absolutely love this router. The range covers my whole home and it keeps a consistent speed throughout. I haven't had any drop issues and the connection is stable. I have the gig internet speed with spectrum and have not had any lag or inconsistent speed issues.. I love have 3 bands of wifi so that the kids have their own band and do not bog down other devices. I love the Armour and the app. I can easily control who is on the network and it blocks websites that are spam and malicious before my security software catches it. Definitely recommend this to anyone.

This router is fantastic. We thought we needed to increase our internet speed after serious lag issues across multiple devices. Through the course of testing everything out, we decided to buy a new router because our new house is bigger and laid out differently than our last house. What a fantastic difference! Absolutely worth every penny and easy to setup.

I've had a lot of routers over the years, mostly Netgear as I love their products, but this AX6600 Tri-Band is OUTSTANDING!!! I'm running no less than 15-16 wireless devices at once; have gigibyte speed with Verizon and am pulling over 700-800 download and 500-600 upload on the speed tests. EXTREMELY EASY TO SET UP!! Everything connected perfectly the FIRST TIME! Out of the box it's a JEM!!! PURCHASE PRICE IS WELL WORTH IT!!

I had the fastest WiFi package I could get but still had multiple drops all day. Working from home, kids doing school zoom calls , I finally figured out it was my router couldn’t handled the traffic. Smart TV, smart phones, smart home, smart devices everywhere! Now I have the smartest router on the market. Easy to install, I have lead fingers and this was a dream to set up. If you have a smart lifestyle you need this smart router !

So far works as advertised! Using after a Frontier FIOS router. Definitely has improved my range throughout the house. Well worth my investment. Setup of this unit was easy, getting it to play with Frontier's router wasn't. Took a lot of reading forums and FAQ sections to finally get them to work together. Once we got it working it's been outstanding. Signal strength throughout the house went up considerably. Nice to be able to stream upstairs without constant buffering.

This router is absolutely blowing our socks off with it's speed. We recently upgraded our internet package with our ISP and needed a wifi router that could support gig speeds in our 2,000 square foot townhome. This Netgear Nighthawk is able to handle that with ease. Set up was simple, and the app is extremely easy to use. Already recommending this product to my friends.

I live in an apartment so this easily covers the range that I need. Setup was straight forward, but it also supports advanced features that I needed. I also like that Netgear provides a subscription based security service that monitors the activity on the router and blocks suspicious inbound activity.

Handling 30+ device in a large house for Gigabit

Was having problems reaching the corners of our house (2 story ~4000 sq) and over to a detached garage with the AT&T provided Router (Arris BGW210-700 with Gigabit service). The AT&T Router would usually reach but throughput would be pretty slow at the ends of house and too detached garage (Ring camera's would complain of poor WiFi). Put the Arris into Passthrough mode and disabled its WiFi and installed this Netgear AX8. Getting 5Ghz over to detached garage pretty consistently now and Ring camera's show good connectivity (RSSI in the upper 50s vs 70/80s). We do have upper 30+ devices (4 kids each with Surfaces and iPhones doing school work + Ring/Thermostats/other IoT/etc. plus me working from home plus wife who is teacher who is virtual on Fridays), needless, a lot of devices streaming Microsoft Teams and Zoom (and TikTok/YouTube/FaceTime/etc...). Couple comments/random thoughts: * Router is in the center of house in open family room, placement of any device is crucial. If I placed router on one side of house where service comes in, this router would not work and reach detached garage/corner of house. * I have tried Mesh systems but devices seemed to latch on to node and not move to another (had to toggle WiFi on/off to get it to change to closer node), I prefer single router model. * SmartConnect seems to work well, can see devices spread across the tri-bands (on main Network) * I usually put IoT devices on the Guest Network. Guest Network does not do SmartConnect so all devices are on the single 2.4Ghz. You would have to setup a 2nd Guest Network and manually put 5Ghz devices onto it. Every other router I have seen has this capability, wish Netgear would update. Realistically though, only a handful of my IoT devices support 5Ghz but still. * As others have mentioned, Admin page is a little slow to refresh when making changes. However, I don't know that it is much slower than others out there so not really a negative. * I have not done much with Static Routes and VPN yet, assuming it works as expected, will be setting up soon. DHCP Reserved works as expected. * Not using any of the Aggregating functionality / USB Sharing / QoS / Trial Security * I only have one WiFi 6 device which is crippled by Work software so cannot really comment on it's performance (everything through VPN, not split-tunnel). * Did I just pay over $300 for a router? Yes, at this point I would say I would do it again assuming it stays stable. * What is this 90 days of tech support versus 1 year hardware warranty (I have to pay to call to tell them the hardware is broken)? Regardless, Netgear AX8 seems to be handling without issue (only been a couple days but solid so far). Will update review if router gets glitchy or if I have to reboot it (I had purchased a different branded router but returned it because WAN port would randomly disconnect).
