This replaced an "old" (two years old) router from another manufacturer, and I'm so glad I switched to Netgear. No longer do I need extenders for my internet throughout the house. This thing easily spreads my internet everywhere in the house. Solid, reliable, and with NO issues so far. Love it!

The only negative was the set up app. It was not able to properly configure the network from my phone. I had to log into it on my computer and run the Setup Wizard from the Advanced tab. Other than that, it's been rock solid and able to easily manage all of the devices in my home so far.

With working from home more and increased streaming, it was time to upgrade my router. Luckily I have access to gig internet, and this router takes full advantage of it. Great so far!

    Great Upgrade, Adequate Insights

Purchased as an upgrade to the Netgear AC1750 (R6700) router because I did not have enough insights to my network bandwidth in order to troubleshoot and isolate problematic devices on my network. Reached out to Netgear presales support to find out if this router would give me the per-device insights that I was looking for and they told me it would not, but i couldn't pass up the sale price to get 6E capable hardware. Turns out their support was incorrect and this router does allow you to monitor and control bandwidth for each device individually, whereas the AC1750 offered global settings that forced all devices to follow the same rules. Now I can prioritize bandwidth for my HDTV while streaming sports instead of fighting tablets and cell phones for bandwidth being used by background services. There are a lot of reviews that comment about poor 2.4 GHz coverage, but I have not experienced that. I'm a professional network engineer and understand the reasons why signal strength drops off with increased range or walls/objects in the way, but I have found that I'm getting better range from this router and I eliminated the network extender I had setup in our garage. I believe the reviews claiming bad coverage were from the earlier days of the product and current firmware updates have resolved many of those problems. I would still like to see some additional functionality built-in to a router with a $400 (or higher) MSRP, but I'm pleased with the progress Netgear has made improving the features and insights available to home users. Coming from someone who is used to configuring corporate equipment that costs thousands of dollars, this is a nice router for a home user who wants cutting edge technology and improved network insights - especially when it's on Black Friday Sale and you can get it for $229 throughout November.

Great product, but set-up and trouble shooting is a pain. WiFi is very stable once it is up, but initial setup and any reset will be time consuming and frustrating.

Works really good once you connect it. Note that when you connect it there are 2 wan ports on the back. If you chose the wan port for 1gbps/2gbps then you need to login to the router manually to switch the default wan port. This issue will disguise itself as being "unable to connect to the internet". Aside from this minor issue (which isnt stated anywhere in the directions) the router is great and has awesome range.
