Had an old Netgear that I’ve had since high school and needless to say it was extremely outdated. After having the ISP switched over to fiber figured we’d upgrade the router after noticing our old one wasn’t getting the full 2gb bandwidth. This one has been flawless so far and no issues yet.

This Netgear Nighthawk is the best thing I have ever bought from BestBuy. It has the 6G band for all the latest tech that supports it so everything is super quick. Having multiple bands allows me to set up individual devices to them so they are not interfering with each other. The range is incredible for this device and it's pretty easy on the eyes too.

Get something else. Bought this to replace my setup at home that's provided by the cable company. Cable companies typically give you the cheapest piece of hardware that they can get away with and charge you for a premium product. I wanted to replace that with this Nighthawk AXE7800. It drops connection so much that I have continued to connect the majority of my devices to the wifi that's provided by my cable router rather than to this. This is connected via cable to my router so it should be providing very fast, near infallible connection to the internet. And yet it is more finicky, unnecessarily complex, and less effective than the garbage that the cable company provides with my service.

If you live in a old home - or need strong WiFi signal - this is a def go to item. Almost getting 1gb Download and 300 Upload - say goodbye to running that super long wire when you can do the same on WiFi 6 - granted you have the internet speeds and hardware to capture the full power of this device.

When I opened it and installed, I had to reset the router as it was not broadcasting my SSID. Reset did it and it then behaved quite normally. I was hesitant, but I'm glad I installed the app because it is quite informative.

Nighthawk always start working well, but in time they start to lag and a reboot is needed. That's why the 4 star review. Somehow they need to reboot themselves or loses cache or something so they can provide the performance when used the first time.
