Dropped wifi signals throughout time with Router

At first I was seeing on my log in the settings that there were several ddos attacks on my router, I called Netgear support and they updated the firmware because there were several router being affected by this across the Netgear landscape. Every time my Netgear was affected I would get kicked off my wifi, multiple times throughout the day. The speed was phenomenal and when it worked it worked amazingly, however even after connecting with Netgear support and their support couldn't determine any cause and chalked it up to be a faulty system to which they suggested I turn it in for so many dropped wifi episodes. I ended up returning it and getting an Asus gtbe pro , currently awaiting delivery.

It drops connections repeatedly. Currently Netgear has it on Beta firmware. It helped but still having issues. Inhave asked for a replacement and to send it to them so they can test in the lab but they refuse. I asked if it is widespread and was told it is only myself having the issue. Numerous working sessions, send logs, etc. Just a big mess. There are also performance issues with Netgear Armor on my S25+. I have been a customer of Netgear products for almost 20 year, looks like I need to switch.

Not Ready For Prime Time

My house is a 2,000 sqft 2 story townhouse. Before the TS700, I was (and am) using a Nighthawk RAX54v2 (RAX50) router to connect 3 home theater (smart TV and receiver) systems, gaming desktops, laptops, cell phone, and multiple echo devices and smart plugs. The modem and router are set up downstairs with strong signal strength on 2.4 and 5 ghz bands, but upstairs the signal, while stable and always connected, is definitely weaker with the RAX54v2. To help alleviate that, I use two ASUS routers upstairs, one as an ethernet bridge for my master bedroom entertainment system and one as a repeater (extender) for my desktops and XBOX. This router with its specs was supposed to correct the weaker upstairs signals. My goal was to set up the router and eliminate the need for the 2 upstairs routers. I used the web page approach to set up, because the Nighthawk app approach appears to be too generic. I am familiar with Nighthawk routers, so the set up was pretty straight-forward. After set up what I found was really disappointing. The wireless signal strength was the same or weaker than the RAX54V2 so the two upstairs routers were still in play. The bridge router connected OK with the same thru put, but the repeater router had major issues. The 5ghz band kept dropping and the 2.4ghz band would not connect at all with my upstairs devices. Note that this happened after I updated the firmware. When I went back and set up the RAX54v2 again, the network became issues went away. Bottom line, the actual coverage of the router is less than advertised, and it still is buggy, very disappointing for this price point, and to me, not worth the expense. I did give it a second star simply because it does work downstairs. The issues may be resolved in future firmware updates, but I need a stable device now. It is going back to Best Buy for a refund. In fact, the RAX54v2 has impressed me to the point that I will probably buy a second one to use as the repeater router and connect all my upstairs devices to it.

So far so good!

Now we just need Wifi 7 devices lets go!

Fast but not reliable.

It had good coverage in the house and outside as well. My house is a 2800 SQ ft brick Colonial and have a 60x220' yard and had at least 90 Mbps in the entire yard. Unfortunately the WIFI started dropping after about 6 months. All my Ethernet connected devices had no issues but while working only 15' away in a direct line of site from the router my laptop and phone would constantly disconnect and reconnect. This also happened on all by security cameras and thermostat. Netgear support is non existent so if you do buy it get the geek squad protection so you can at least return it. Mine will be going back today and I will get a different brand because at this price point you should not be having any failures this soon.

Not a good experience.

Speeds were inconsistent even though i was right in from lf the router, had verizon come out, and they said everything checks out its gotta be the router. So i bought another RS700 same issue. I even spoke to NETGEAR support! I wanted to give you guys the benefit of the doubt but parental controls is something you have to pay for like bmw and their heated seats.. ended up returning both and bought the Asus RT-BE96U since you get more for the same price...
