Bad Nighthawk

Even India couldn't get it to work. They didn't want me to return it. Told me to get someone out to my house to help. Really? Returned and bought TP, had no problems with that router.

Wrong WiFi router

When experiencing an issue getting installed and hooked up, we recommend a few troubleshooting steps including unplugging your RS100 from your modem and performing a full power cycle of both your modem and RS100 and waiting for the modem to completely reboot before reconnecting the RS100 to your modem with an ethernet cable. Once working, is amazing!

It was a frustrating process, but now my wifi is fast and reliable. If it was possible to do half stars, this would be a 4.5 star product.

Complicated Home Network Requirements

The issue is that each has necessary devices that are chatty (meaning they passively use bandwidth to communicate). The wife's are important medical devices. The Adult children have an office in the house and have other needs. Then there is the family overhead - electronic devices, digital assistants, etc. Could I segment an individual network - well yes but the easier fix is to give them each there own network. I have three concurrent networks operating off of a fiber optic WAN. Solves all of my problems. They co-exist wonderfully. Three separate Netgear routers does the trick. Could I do a mesh system (well yes, i could) this was 1/3 the cost and just easier, I give admin rights to each of them for their own router and suddenly it isn't my problem anymore, which as a lazy retired IT professor is the exact way I like it.

Description: Good range, relatively small form factor, and security updates (and Armor software) seem to make this a good value for the money. Installation (from another Netgear product that was out of service date) was not quite as straightforward as I believed it was going to be, but doing it manually instead worked well. 5ghz speeds (15 feet) are near 250 or better most of the time, and diminish the further out you go, but radio (without extender) seems to cover (or very nearly so) the distance claimed.

Great value and performance

Description: I had to replace my cable modem when I upgraded to a fiber internet provider. After reviewing what was available at my local Best Buy, I selected the Netgear Nighthawk RS100. It's 2000 sq foot range adequately covers all areas in my 2-story colonial. That saved me from investing in a more expensive mesh system. The setup was straight-forward with Nighthawk app. The monitoring system for connected devices is great and I have no issues with it's performance. I feel I made a great investment with this unit.

Fast and Compact

Setup is simple—you can use the Nighthawk app or a web browser, whichever you prefer. It’s perfect for an apartment or small home, and its compact size makes it less obtrusive than many other WiFi 7 routers. It blends in nicely in a home office or living space. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade if you're still using an older WiFi standard.

Wifi Good, Setup required lots of extra work

The setup was not smooth, The Netgear app said the router was not supported (despite it being new) and told us to download the "Orbi" app. Same result. Had to connect laptop to wired connection and point browser at 192.168.1.1 to setup manually. Amazing that even today, setting up these consumer devices is such a pain.

Netgear Nighthawk RS100
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to install with my tmobile home internet and it works flawlessly, internet speed wifi and ethernet got boosted, I used to get 400mbps and now I'm getting 600 to 800. Easy to install, features good perks.
