It's not sure what to do without the error+mesh routers that I try to use but they don't want to pair up and I have been trying to return these items because they are not going to do what I needed to pair up with My cameras so I can see what happens out of my bedroom as I recover from back surgeries and I have to make sure that my Spine is fused straight and then I can see the difference between the Netgear modem and eero 6+mesh routers that just resting in the boxes

Netgear CM1000V2 Bricked and Needed Replacement

Bought this router back in March 2021 and have had many issues with our internet ever since. Bought a new router since this was a new modem to begin with so didnt suspect it to fail. 3 months after replacing the router, this Netgear modem bricked itself and was unable to reboot after power cycling it. The top 4 lights would flash amber rapidly and would not do anything when you hold the reset button down. Many forums stated once this happens, you need to get a new modem. Since I bought it in Match 2021, I thought there was a 1 year warranty, but based off the Netgear product registration they said it was out of warranty. Super frustrating and will never buy an other netgear product again.

My fault for not buying the protection plan because i usually do but i thought with netgear the quality would be a little higher. When fully functional, this modem is awesome. Super fast internet and we love it. But it took a little tumble and now doesnt function at all. Cant recommend.

DOCSIS 3.1 Doesnt Matter if I Cant Stay Connected

Bought this modem so I wouldn't have to pay Comcast's wonderful rental fee. Thought I'd go ahead and buy something to future proof myself a bit, so I grabbed the CM1000 since it's the only DOCSIS 3.1 modem available. Turns out the firmware on at least some of these has a critical flaw causing it to randomly disconnect. From reading online Netgear has fixed the issue, but there is no way to update the firmware yourself. Seems to me that either Netgear has decided not to recall the bad modems, or I got a box with the new firmware and it's still not fixed. Either way I'm heading to return this and get an Arris modem or something. Left it at 2 stars because while it works it's great, Having to restart it a couple times a day to get my connection back is not terribly fun.

I really like my new modem. It came right on time. I wished I would have purchased it a year ago…a combo modem plus router but I didn’t know exactly what I needed until I talked with my cable provider staff.

This has been disappointing so far. I have Comcast Gig Speed and NEVER get close to that hovers around ~125 down and up is 35. I have had them here to service the line and everything checks out. Contacted Best Buy, they told me to contact Netgear. It's been over a month since I followed all of the detailed instructions Netgear gave me, and the continue to ignore my comments on my case. This is a modem issue and Netgear has been miserable to work with. I bought this for the brand name. This is not Best Buy's fault, this is a NetGear issue, I expect more from a company like Netgear.

This may be a great modem but it was not what I needed or could use. It was pushed on me by the Best Buy information assistant. I kept asking him if it supported home phone and he assured me it did. I should have put on my glasses and read the small print which said it did not. No fault of the product. Just misrepresented by the salesman and not sufficiently checked out by reading the info on the box by me.

I've purchased this one and the Arris model and the heiress is definitely better in every aspect. If you're looking for a router modem phone combination I would lean on the Arris model.

    NOT Compatible with Spectrum!!

Highly rated at Best Buy, but nothing but problems getting it to work with Spectrum, even though they claim this model is compatible. First Spectrum had to recognize and then store the modem's MAC address, and then reboot the system twice over the span of two separate phone calls to them. Even now I must cycle the power on the modem nearly every day. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU USE SPECTRUM!!

I think it worked fine - had some connection issues and do not believe it was the modem since we were having service issues. Was it ISP, modem, router, laptop?? This may have been the issue since we ended up replacing it just before the 90 days were up. Customer support was good but the return options were not that great. Basically had to pay $30 to get it shipped first, then could return the old one. Other option was to return the old first, then wait 5-10 business days to get the new one. Plan to check out Google's products next time.

I purchased this because the Arris SURFboard was not in stock. I came home and tested the new speed, 1Gbps. The speed was inconsistent. I returned the product and purchased the SURFboard from another Best Buy store the same day. I started getting better speeds and at a more consistent rate immediately. I'll stick with Arris.

This may be a great modem however when using it with Xfinity/Comcast. I was continuedly having connection issues. At one-point Comcast connected to it & said the firewall settings needed to be at low not high. I called Netgear for them to tell me since it is only a modem it did not have firewall settings. While it did have some security, I could not adjust it. Comcast recommended ether renting one from them or getting a modem with a firewall that could be customized. Hopefully Best Buy will let me exchange it on a modem with a firewall that can be customized.

Says it works with my internet provider but they could never get it to connect. Spent $$$ and can’t use. Found out hard way only 15 days to return. Took a month of going back and forth with internet to find it was my device that wouldn’t work.

While worked it was excellent; however hardware failure after 1.5 month of use. While Netgear offered to exchange unit, choice between paying $30 for expedited shipping (20% of modem cost) or waiting for 4-7 business days after they receive my unit (I work from home so this is not an option) was not so great. Thankfully bestbuy was willing to take it back!

This product does the job at first, it was O-K-A-Y. However, after couple of months it started acting weird. Sometimes it does drop the wifi connection, and it won't let the device connect to the wifi. I have to keep resetting it online. Fortunately, just couple of days ago they released a new update and so far it is doing fine.

When it worked it was good. Had to reset it 4 or 5 times a day. I liked that it had an on off button. Returned to store and got an Aris modem that was recommended by sales rep and it works great but does not have on off button, you have to unplug it to reset if needed (have not had to so far). I probably just got a bad one.
