I am by no means a computer techie, but I do know my way around alittle. Let me start that installation was about as simple as setting up your iPad or laptop up to the Internet. Once this was all installed I increased my overall speed by about 25mbs, and the extender or dead spot receiver was easy set up also, mine was a Best Buy exclusive which has a built in geek squad button. This is a bit pricey but like momma always told me you get what you pay for.

I live in a large wide ranch home that has had dead zones with other routers. The NETGEAR - Nighthawk DST AC1900 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router with DST Adapter came with a additional signal booster. Together they have eliminated all dead zones and improved the quality and reliability of my wifi throughout my home..

Bought this router because my old one kept dying out on me. It was 6 years old anyway. This new one seems to be doing the trick and all is well. The setup was pretty simple. The extender option seems to be working just fine. We have one particular room were the wifi is weak, but the booster seems to increase the signal. My only beef is that the booster signal shows as "weak" (red light), however, my devices (including XBOX ONE) seems to run smoothly (no glitching) during the day and at night. I'm happy with the product.

How to get Geek Squad via button?

I read that you have to set up an account online first before being able to connect to Geek Squad via the far right button on the router. Did I do that when i registered my new Netgear? Do I already have an account? I have so many online accts. that I forget even if I write them all down. How to organize? Anyway, so far, ALL OF MY 8 NETWORK DEVICES ARE SHOWING UP IN THE NETGEAR GENIE APP., INCLUDING THE DST ADAPTER THAT CAME WITH THE R7300 MODEL.

One of the antennas has a manufacturing defect

I purchased this product and picked it up at the store. When I took it home, I discovered that one of the Antennas was defected, it basically can not be installed to the socket. The problems is that I did not discover this until I am already in Aruba where I live. So I called NETGEAR customer services and after being transferred between several persons and departments, I discovered that they refuse to support me and they referred me to Best Buy. So I called Best Buy Customer services and I got the same runaround that I got from NETGEAR. Except that Best Buy where much better and they were willing to help. I was finally told by Best Buy to call the store where I purchased it from. So, I called the store and the store basically told me that I have to bring it in to replace it and I tried to explain to them that I live in Aruba and I have no idea when I am going to be back in the US. Can they just send me an Antenna. The answer was not. So when I go back to the US, I will have to find out if I will be able to replace the defective antenna or not, even though it is a manufacturing defect.

Net Gear AC1900 DST Router (R7300) & DST ADAPTER

The Router for household use, I deem in and of itself adequate. But, the Net Gear Genie would not stay online with my older VISTA computer (It drops out and offline). Also the DST ADAPTER (Extender) I tried 17 ways from Sunday to get to work and never could get it to function. Also R7300 has potential hacks and needs to be firmware updated immediately.

First off I checked the reviews on this product before I bought it. So I knew it was going to be a rather large router and I might have a few issues setting it up. It is large, but I had no problem what-so-ever setting it up. I get a steady signal from it and it is faster then my previous N600 unit. You do have to set up the extender separately and the bands also need to be entered separately into the receiving device. So if you leave the range of one band or unit the receiving device has to reconnect. Doesn't really seem to be an issue, it's just not a once and done situation. The extender does work thru the electric lines so if you have more then 1 breaker box for your home, you could run into problems. Between the 2 units I easily cover both levels of about 1500 sq. ft. each and out into the front and back yards.

We purchased the NetGear Nighthawk because we had very slow internet speed with the router that came with our AT&T service. We are paying for the highest speed you can get, but of course, AT&T's equipment wasn't putting out. We bought this and WOW, is it great! Installation was a breeze! Knowing we have Geek Squad for any technical issues is nice as well. Some people may not like or want Geek Squad, but they were super professional with us and answered all my technical questions. It's nice to know they are there when we need them. Two weeks after installing, our daughter's family came into town. All four of them have phones, plus iPads. We all had very fast internet. I would highly recommend this product.

Needed an updated Wfi router and this one came highly recommended. Old router could no longer handle 4 smart phones, 2 iPads, 2 smart tv’s, four laptops and a game system. This one not only handles it all, but is much faster. Easy setup. Only downfall is that it takes up more room than my old router.

This wifi unit is easy to use and provides coverage for my entire home. Has the ability to allow guests to use wifi without giving them access to my personal network. Strong password protection keeps unwanted people from using my connection. Strong multi band signals allows multiple users at the same time and maintain speed.

The combination of this router with the DST (dead spot terminator) has provided the best home WIFI I have ever had. The installation was very simple and the coverage as well as speed greatly improved anything I have previously owned. My measured speed difference between the nighthawk and the DST was only 0.2 mbps.

I won't be giving as technical a review as others because that is outside my bailiwick but from the less technical standpoint this router is a gem. We saw immediate increase in our signals & reliability. This was incredibly easy to install as well & we didn't even need to use the geek squad button to request help. The only criticism we have is having to reset the router occasionally but that could also be due to our incoming dsl & not necessarily the modem/router - as I said outside my technical determination. We replaced a Netgear router that worked well but cable company who supplies our internet connection suggested we get an upgraded router & this was our choice & it does not disappoint.

So far no problems. I use this router to connect 2 computers (one PC, one Mac), 2 Chromecast streaming devices, and 2 smartphones (one Android and one iOS). It handles the load and gives no problems. Strong signal and covers the whole house (1600 sq ft) Simple to customize settings and monitor through the Netgear Genie app. Only downside is the range extender is difficult to work with. I didn't necessarily want it or need it, but the price for both, at the time, was cheaper than the router alone (it was on sale) so I got it but I don't use it.
