Package comes with R7300 router and 3 antennas Power Cord DST Adapter 2 Ethernet cables Set up was quick. Attached the power cord and 3 antennas to the R7300 router. Then connected an ethernet cord from the router to my modem. Then I plugged the DST adapter in my bedroom upstairs and waited for it to sync with the R7300. I used my galaxy S4 to connect to the new SSID and finished the online setup. Features: The router has the standard 4 ethernet ports in the back and a usb 2.0. In the front there's a usb 3.0 and a Geek Squad support button to give them remote access if there are problems. The dst adapter has one ethernet port and two antennas already attached. The login page for the router is pretty nice and straight forward. I download the genie app for my S4 also to check on my settings from my phone. Performance: So far, it's been great. I get a consistent connection in my upstairs. Signal is also strong downstairs where I have my router. Overall, this package is nice and takes care of not having to purchase a router and separate powerline/extender. I've received this product free from Netgear as part of the F&F test program.

this just wasn't what I needed. I had a very hard time getting it set up. Then the extender never worked. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Geek Squad. Not pleasant.

Older Netgear router better than new one failed

It's better than a newer Netgear installed by Geek Squad who took this one, but I had to retrieve it out of Max's hands just in case the new one failed which it did in two days. So glad I kept this one. Older can be better like my inherited 1996 Ford Taurus GL that my dad bequeathed to me. Keep the old, watch out for the new stuff. I reinstalled my old Netgear myself. Get one if you can.

Terminated my dead spots and more

On the higher end of the Netgear product line is its Nighthawk DST (Dead Spot Terminator) AC1900. It’s basically a Ethernet Over Power solution that provided a 2nd wireless access point at a dead spot in your home over Powerline. The router its self is very powerful, and for advance users provides great additional functions. OpenVPN Support for those users that want to connect securely to their home network. TIPS -Do not plug in either devices into a surge protector as it will not work, and/or work poorly. -Careful with other powerline products as it is cause issues for ether the existing powerline adaptors or the DST Adaptor. -Give it plenty of room to breathe as this unit may get a little hot when it’s in small spaces.

It might be really powerful, but most products work right out of the box these days and this didn't.

Good AT&T DSL 2Wire Replacement w/New Modem Also

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We had lots of people in the house during the holidays and the wireless performance of our DSL dropped to pathetic. Had old 2Wire HG-B router and the count on pcs, phones and grandkids devices was high! Tested my laptop download speed and it was 1/10 of normal. So I bought the Netgear AC1900 DSL router w/DST adapter (extender that plugs into wall outlet). I intended to add it to the back of the AT&T 2Wire DSL modem/router. I could not get that to work. Tried the initial setup hoping it would find the genie for quick setup. No dice. Many hours talking to Geek Squad and AT&T but neither understood the other end enough to pinpoint the problem. Surfing revealed that the old 2Wire needed to be put in "Bridge" (modem pass thru) mode for downstream routers. Tried that and it didn't work (maybe my fault). It dawned on me that it would be easier to trow out the 2Wire and add a $49 modem only Netgear at the front and put the AC1900 behind it. That worked when putting in the right AT&T ID for me and my "network" (NOT account) password. AT&T and Geek Squad were helpful. Only negative is it would me nice to have all equipment from AT&T to have single tech support. But for old DSL they have only 2 non-AC (n) modem/routers, both with shaky ratings. I can't comment on performance with high demand yet but I'm happy I got through the barriers. I had it packed up to return at one point. The problems were not Netgears but realize it takes some doing to figure out potential barriers with several parties involved.

Best Router that I have ever owned

I purchased the DST 7300 over a week ago. Set up was straight forward. Follow the directions in the owners' manual and it is quick and painless. Installed the DST 6501 half the distance from my router and the other side of my house. This setup drastically improved the internet connections, game downloads and movie streaming on all my internet connected devices #i.e., iPad, Blue-ray players, Xbox and PlayStation#. It is well worth the money.
