The router was easy to install and connect to my devices. It does seem to be working better than my previous router. I have not had to restart it like I would with my previous router. The Night Hawk also seems to be faster than I've had previously. My office is in the basement which made the connection very weak but the range extender has made vast improvements.

Great wifi speed, but not the best wired speed

This is a great combination for getting wifi coverage through my 3 story house. The router is in the basement and the DST is on the 3rd floor. There are a few small dead spots on the main level, and a second DST would make it even better. I expected to plug into the DST and get similar speeds to when plugging directly into the router, but this is not the case The DST wired speed is only slightly faster than the wifi speed. Still wonderful not having to run a ethernet wire up to the 3rd floor.

It is a pretty simple unit to use. I was excited about the power line part of the unit. I wanted to keep my router in the basement and use the adapter to extend a stronger signal into the last corner of my home. Unfortunately my basement and rest of the home are on different circuit s. And that limited this unit speed and increased lag. My solution would be to put the router on main floor. But if I did that I would not need the power line adapter
Gave me same speed as wired on the 5g band

After a long discussion about the AC routers with the Best Buy Associate, we settles on this router. I live in a 65 year old house with plaster wall held up with wire mesh and copper tubing in the ceiling for heat... A WiFi nightmare.
Setup was very simple and eliminated a problem I was having communicating with my ATT uVerse modem. The signal strength is much improved over my N router of old and am seeing signal in spots of the house never seen. The AC extender in an improvement as well over the old N extenders.
This has been a very satisfying improvement in my WiFi. I would highly recommend this router.

Once connected to a properly configured modem, the Netgear router set up was basically automatic, and it works great for all our wireless devices. The GeekSquad set up service was included as part of the router purchase, and they helped me trouble shoot to define that the cable modem wasn't configured, to contact the ISP for help, then call back GeekSquad if router still not operational. After the cable company reconfigured the modem, the router turned up by itself in less than 5 minutes, didn't need GeekSquad again. It's a winner!

I could not get it to work. called geek squad in about an hour he was able to locate the problem, it was not netgear but time warner's modem, he was able to get around the problem and this unit works great, I can even plug in the extender to an outside outlet and be covered in my entire yard. great job netgear and geek squad.

I love the speed on this router! Range is actually ok but not the greatest. So I'm glad it came with the extender which is great. Before I would get maybe two bars outside in my backyard if I'm lucky, but now I get full bars with the extender. My only complaint is that its a pain to set up. I bought one and returned it because the extender was faulty after figuring it out with Geeksquad. I got the new one and still wasn't working right but after two hours with Geeksquad I got it going. So I love it but a little hassle to setup.

The AC1900 with DST extender is perfect for my needs. I placed the router on the main floor and the extender on the second. The extender communicates thru my house wiring and I get about 15 Mbps thru it. Direct to the AC1900 is blazingly fast. I configured in minutes and was online quickly. I like the hardware switch to turn off extra LEDs because it is near the HD TV and would be distracting otherwise.

I've owned several different brands of routers. This is a nice router, easy to setup and seems to have a strong steady signal. It's located in my home and I have another building about 80 feet away. I get a good signal in this remote building as well.

I bought this router to replace an old Apple router as we were having trouble with our signal in the house. I can't believe the difference the new router made. We now get a strong signal anywhere in the house and it is so much faster now. We were not getting the promised internet speed but now we are. I am very happy with it and would recommend it.

The DST (dead spot terminator) PoE (power over Ethernet) adapter is awesome for larger homes. It does have some difficulty with concrete walls but that might be a little too much to ask for. The signal still gets outside/around the wall if you aren't in a bunker. Great outdoor range. I was a block away and my phone connected. Setup is fairly easy depending on the desired options. The router won't repeat if you have more than two routers and no way to extend a network cable or on a separate electrical grid. If on the same grid the DST has a network port and it works well with good throughput. I hooked up the DVR to it and it performs well. If the router was designed to give the option to repeat it would be perfect.

This router was a huge improvement over a Netgear N750 model purchased about 4 years. Super easy to set up. We have it located in an office on 1 end of our main floor. The range extends to the furthest rooms upstairs and in the basement in our 4400 square foot house. Love it!

Great range, covers my muti-level home completely, extending to outside area. Geek Squad useless for set-up. Called because printer wouldn't connect was told I'd have to pay additional $29.99 for printer set-up. Figured it out on my own. Don't buy relying on Geek Squad assistance.

I have a 4500sq ft. house and this router provides excellent coverage in all corners of the house including the garage and the patio. The extender is a nice to have add on, but I noticed it wasn't a necessity once I got the router up and running.

This router setup may not work for all, but if it does, performance will be high. This is much faster than the AT&T Fiber gateway I was initially using. I don't have much need for the DST but I could use it for backyard relaxing. I'd recommend if you're home is not too big.

we call it Darth Vader.
Yes it's expensive, but whoa, what a difference. I went with this one after a good discussion with the Geek Squad manager. It blows my old router out of the water. The coverage is exceptional. I'm also using the extension adapter. The setup was incredibly easy. The speeds I'm getting way surpass my old $70 router.
One note: to use the extender, which transmits through the power line, do not plug the router into a surge protector; it needs to be plugged directly into the power outlet.

We needed a router that would reach across our sixty foot wide home. In the past, our routers would have weak and dead spots, frustrating our entire family. This router reaces every corner and made our internet much quicker!

I was getting ready to drop my cable service and knew that streaming on my old router was not going to get the job done so I started looking for a newer model. A family member told me that he had purchased a Nighthawk and that his ability to connect from any point in his house on multiple devices (3000 sq ft 4 level) was excellent. I also read many of the available reviews and found that most were very positive so I decided to pay a little more and go with the Nighthawk over many other available brands and models. I have not been disappointed. The model from Best Buy was on sale with the DST bundle so I went with it. Set up was a breeze and I was up and running in just a few minutes. I experimented with and without the DST and found I could connect with no signal degradation from anywhere in my condo (1000 sq ft single level) without using the DST even with the router placed in a corner of the building and not centrally located. I am very happy with my purchase.

This model really extended the coverage of our WiFi zone. While it comes with a satellite receiver to further extend the range, we ended up not using that because breakers kept getting tripped on our circuit board when it was plugged in. Breaker problem stopped when extender was unplugged.
