The Best

This is the best combination on the market right now at the price point. The Nighthawk is one of the best routers on the market and the DST is powerful because it transfers data over electrical wires rather than repeating a WiFi signal. This is the combination to get if you are having issues covering your house.

Have been using this for about a month and have not a single issue. Previously I had three older hotspots positioned around my house and with this new router I am able to just use this and the included dst. Would highly recommend. Setup took maybe an hour, and it is easy to modify using a smart phone and app.

A member of geek squad approached me in the aisle and recommended the Nighthawk to me after asking a few questions about my distance requirements and number of devices (8 - 10). It was also on sale for $129 less than original in my local store so that was definitely a plus. By far, best router I've had, and I've had MANY over the years. The adapter to extend wifi is awesome. I have it plugged in my shed and it's a great signal even being about 30-40yds away from the base router. A side note: the further the plug from your base, the weaker the connection(it uses the circuit in your home to project the signal) and you can't use a surge protector for the router or adapter, causes interference and weakens the signal. Instruction manual clearly states all of this. All in all I'm very happy with it.

I had been reviewing and looking for the best equipment to allow good reception for my devices, the old system was having to be reset often and I needed something that would allow me to reach all areas of my house with the main wireless router in the basement and various extenders in use, I was able to use all the old extenders and the new to accomplish my goal good reception. And the best thing I can say - it worked out of the box as advertised.

I used to require two separate routers in my house in order to get full coverage. Now w/ the DST router, a single router covers the entire house w/ even better signal strength.

Good router, not happy with extender

I bought this router on recommendation from the Best Buy salesmen since I have a large home. The router works great but drawback is I have to use this for all my connections and cannot use the built in router on my modem but not that big a deal, especially when the router works so well. The extender would not work and called the geek squad, problem is it transfers through the electrical system in the home but on large homes, such as mine, the different areas are on different circuits and will not work. It works great when plugged in the outlets near the router on the same circuit but not where I need it. I when back to my old Netgear extender that goes over the air and it works great but just limited in size. I would suggest to anyone to not buy this package since your buying something that may not even work in your home. The three stars is on having to buy the extender with the router.

This product replaced an existing wifi router. I was experiencing dead zones around the house and wanted to upgrade to gigabit speeds.
I was up and operational within fifteen minutes and eliminated a dead zone where I wanted to use a Roku module.
Fast , easy, and reliable.

I installed this on the first level of a 3 story townhome, the signal is strong on all 3 floors without using the repeater. Setup was easy without any help, just be patient while it gets itself ready. I am very pleased with the performance also, much better than the one I replaced.

I've used Netgear for years, and when introduced to this router at the Support Center that actually I am taking tech calls for, I knew it would be worth the money. Installation (hard wiring) was simple, and I was able to easily configure the router like my older Netgear router. Once I had all the devices working, both the 2.4 & 5 wifi networks working, I called to ensure the router wasn't broadcasting open to the rest of the neighborhood. Geek Squad Support was quick, and the Agent doing the checking ensured that the router was configured, secure, and all the options of the new NightHawk taking full advantage of the 1.5 Mbit DSL I have. Yes, the router has made this very slow, cheap DSL speed almost as good as a high speed CABLE internet speed. We used to have to refresh almost every page we brought up, and now, the pages come up the first time, and I look forward to seeing what this router can do on a faster ISP. Great signal, even on a dual level house, with the router in the basement.

This router has changed my life. My old one required me to have three extenders in my home (I only have 1000 sq feet) and even then, the signal would drop regularly or there would be issues streaming even an hour-long show. No more dead spots, no more delays and no more extenders. I have the extender it comes with setup but haven't needed it at all.

Had to replace my wifi once again. Tried two others but neither worked well enough to keep. When I got this home I found that I needed to call a toll free number to set the system up. While it took maybe a half hour for the call, the folks I spoke to (both obviously from the US and who spoke very clearly) the end result is the system works amazingly and the signal is stronger than any of the other systems I've tried.

I've been paying Verizon Fios for 75/75 speeds but best wifi test would show maybe 30mbps. Plus, the router is upstairs in the Study yet we spend much of our time in the finished basement resulting in frequent buffering. I guess i just always thought that was typical wifi performance but I finally got fed up when the Firestick would get hung up every few minutes. A friend of mine does PC support and installs information systems for a living. He strongly suggested this router saying it is basically commercial grade. And boy was he right!! I now routinely get 100mbps down and up. No more buffering anywhere in the house. Heck, i now even have a strong wifi signal down my 50 foot driveway to the street. What a relief. When I think about the stupid stuff i have spent money on over the years, it's incredible how much this little purchase has improved our family's online life. You can't go wrong with the router

Before installing the Netgear Nighthawk Router I had a combination Modum/Router from the cable company. The signal from the cable was lower than I was supposed to receive. After installing a separate modum and the Netgear Nighthawk Router my signal increased to 100% of what I was supposed to receive from the cable company.

Bought this for my brother to replace his old Netgear router. This beast gives outstanding speeds and decent coverage. Since he has a big house, the extender is a huge advantage to cover dead spots in the basement and backyard. Highly recommended!

This is wild-fi! Absolutely nothing more to say other than astonishingly refreshing to find a product that goes beyond expectations.
Simple set up and with whole house and yard coverage for eight devices running at once.

This router gave us a great coverage improvement over our old router. Our house is a concrete block framed house in the shape of a T. The router sits at the top of the T. Our old router didn't have the power to get a good signal to one end of the top of the T or to the bottom of the T. This router gets the signal not only to the bottom of the T, but also thru the block wall and 40 or so feet into the backyard. We put the external booster in the bedroom at the far top of the T and now have a strong signal at that end of the house too.
The only issues I have with it at all are the fact that it does take up markedly more shelf space, since it sets horizontally rather than vertically, and the fact that if you want to change the password for one frequency and not the other, you need to call tech support.
This router is definitely worth the money we paid for it.
