I received this product free through the Netgear Friends and Family program in exchange for an unbiased review. Setup - Setup was very easy and took less than 15 minutes. Just plug the router and DST adapter in and follow the instructions. One thing to remember is to make sure that the router and DST adapter are not plugged into surge protectors. A small gripe, but being a big router, I wish that i could have wall mounted it. Features - The app and web UI are powerful and also easy to use. In an instant you can see all your connected devices and how much data they're using. I was also able to easily add a guest network. Performance - The router itself has a strong wifi signal. The router is in an upstairs closet and the signal will cover most of the house. Add in the DST adapter and the whole house is easily covered in a strong signal. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone needing more range and the newest standards.

I don't normally buy into the hype around wireless routers. Usually all the talk about speed increases and signal strength proves to be overstated or downright untrue when you get the device home. I was amazed at how much of an improvement this was over my old dual-band N router. The signal strength is noticeably stronger. In areas of my house that would only get 1 bar, I am now getting 3. The most impressive gain was on the 5 Ghz band though. Multiple speedtests clocked in at right around 100Mbps whereas on the old router I would typically get 15-20Mbps. Setup was pretty quick and painless as well. All in all I am extremely happy with this router and it has greatly surpassed my expectations.

Bought more expensive router vases on salespersons recommendations to break through some of the issues with slow wifi in my house, but it didn't do any better than the one I had before

I bought this product hoping it would solve my problem due to weak signals and carrying too many devices on my old router. I still have the problem just not as often.

The product did give us wifi in an area that we had problems with, however it did not take care of all of it. In one area, the internet option did show, but could not actually connect.

Was great when it worked... Every time I had a power outage, or serge it would fry the wan port for the Internet... Returned it for a new one.. Same thing 3more times when a storm came. For the extender to work ,it ask not to plug it into a serge protector. So I was done with it, upgraded with the return. Hope to not have this problem with the upgrade

Not as strong of a signal output as I thought it would have. Even with the dead spot eliminator the signal strength about 30 feet away in my garage was very weak.

Best wireless router I've ever had...

Allow me to add a little backstory before I get into the actual product. My home is about 2400 sq ft and my garage is located at the back of my property, about 50 feet from the house itself. I had previously used the netgear EA6500. It did great for a while, but after we started upgrading our phones and adding new devices, it seemed to drop off frequently. I tried to update firmware with no real improvements. We decided to try the Nighthawk AC1900 with the addition Dead Spot Terminator and here is my real world thoughts on the product... We placed the router in our living room and the DST in our upstairs main bedroom. Instructions provided were simple enough to follow that it only took me about 20 minutes from start to finish. It integrated seamlessly with our Samsung 4k smart tv, as well as the other devices we paired with it. I have seen MAJOR increases in download and streaming quality. We ran a speed test on our laptop in the living room and hit 52.15 Mbps download and around 19 Mbps upload. Which to me, is absolutely astonishing for home internet speeds. Upstairs in the farthest corner of the house it only dropped to 50.39 and 15.14 respectively. When it comes to my garage, obviously the data drops dramatically. But it's just enough to stream Iheart Radio while I work on my car. I'm going to try another DST out there to see if it improves. Now I'm no professional, but what I do know is that to hit consistently above 50 is no small task. So to be brutally honest, if you are looking for a solid router for your home or office, this is it.

Internet connection is strong when nearby the main router. Extender is extremely poor signal and won't even pick up signal to connect on other side of my house.

I was renting a router through my cable company and had issues all the time with losing my internet connection in the middle of doing something. Purchased this router and I have to connect to the internet everyday before I can use it even though I my computer setting set at automatically connect. Disappointed. The router is only 2 rooms away from where my computer is located

2 Ethernet ports stopped working and the DST adaptor is worthless, you only get about 3 Mbps coming out. Just but the night hawk alone. It works great

Returned the item after talking with the store and reviewing the tech forums online. Spent many hours/days trying to figure out why my modem had service yet I could not get the router to get internet. The tech forum mentioned how some homes are not wired for this type of modem. The store manager at Best Buy (Cory) worked with me and tried to help, Thank you Cory.

This router worked great for the first 6 months or so then the first firmware update came out. Dropped internet connections and both wifi bands would randomly lose internet. The connection would be fine but the internet would just drop. Did some research and people said to downgrade to the old firmware, so I did assuming the next update would correct the issues. 6/19/19 another firmware update comes out it had been out for a while I believe but I just remembered I should check for an update. Same exact issues after this update with the added issue of when the internet was working I was getting 30-40mbps when I was previously getting 300-400mbps (gigabit internet). Again did a bit a research and people said the only fix was to downgrade the firmware. Just for people that don't know the firmware updates normally carry the security updates to protect your network, so not being able to upgrade is a big deal. While on the forums I also saw this apparently is an issue with a lot of their other equipment as well. I will never buy another netgear product again after this experience.

I have an old netgear router that worked great. I was told by staff it was 'old technology' and this would be better. What I found was, for whatever reason, anything from my computer, iPad or tv will all of a sudden have 'no connection'. The 'no connection' will not last but a few minutes, and a quick power on off of computer/tv etc will fix the problem. Just frustrating to be 'new technology and better' to find out not very reliable.

Not sure if it's the router or our 4K TV sucking all the wifi up but our signal still is spotty. Was told this would fix it but no luck.
