Awesome Router With Blazing Speed & Great Coverage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Up front: I received this free of charge as part of Netgear's Friends & Family program. This is a great piece of network equipment for everyone, especially those with newer devices that support the AC speed standard. If you want to get rid of slowdowns in your wireless network caused by streaming too many videos or downloading big files, this may well be exactly what you need. Here are some pros and cons. Pro + It's aesthetically pleasing and of good build quality. + Easy to use. Routers shouldn't be hard (and you shouldn't have to interact with them much, if at all) and this one is no different. After an easy setup, you can generally tuck it away and forget about it. + AC speeds are great for streaming videos or transferring files or playing online games. Older routers are quickly being outpaced by the speeds of today's internet connections and you want your wireless speeds to keep up, too. + The DST adapter is a great addition to help you get great coverage throughout your whole house. It really is helpful! + Good price for what you get. Con - Isn't a dual-purpose router/modem. Some may consider this a negative (though I don't). - This is not a business-class router, and so it won't have all the high-end, fancy features that paying thousands of dollars might get you. For 99% of home users, that's totally irrelevant, though. As I said above, if you need a newer router that supports the newest standards and higher speeds, seriously consider giving this a try! It should work great for you!

Router performed beyond my expectations!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say, no more dead spots. No more use for the extender. This thing is fast and can handle my whole family's wifi needs. We were originally using the Netgear N600 dual band that seemed to work ok, but was quite slow and didn't reach many areas in our 3500sqft home. I thought about upgrading the speed on our supplied wifi but prior to doing that, we decided to try out another router instead. I'm so glad that we did because this thing is blazing fast and reaches all areas of the home including outdoors. There is no more use for our extender, however we still use it to boost the signal for outdoor wifi use. Easy set up, has tons of capabilities And allows you to easily monitor who's on your network. I highly recommend is product!

Better options
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel like the extender did not really do much. Spend a little more and then you can get a router that does the job without the extender. Plus the extender has it's own network so you will have to change when you want to use it.

Perfect for Larger Homes with Wifi dead zones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have received this product from Netgear with the Friends & Family program to provide an unbiased honest opinion and review. -Setup The setup was really easy for the router. I just had to plug the DST AC1900 to my modem and everything was ready to go. The DST adapter was a bit of a challenge. if you have no dedicated wall outlets for the router and dst adapter. Both of them needs to be plugged into the wall no surge protector outlet strips. The surge protectors eventually blocks the signals for both of them to connect. Another issues it that if you have 2 different circuit breakers they highly might not work. I had some trouble with the adapter and router to connect but the geek squad people really helped me figure the problem out. -Features The Router it self has strong wifi signals and speed which was amazing and when successfully paring with the DST adapter there is no more wifi dead spots in my house. -Performance The internet speed is outstanding and the signal is stronger than my modem which is provided by AT&T. The router alone can cover most of my 2nd story house, when using with the DST adapter I have crips clear and fast internet all over the place. -Price Value I honestly dislike to have multiple routers in the house it gets complicated to manage and organize. The DST adapter is doing a great job to cover my house with good internet speed and signal. I think this is a price efficient bundle to have when you are someone like me. -Expectations I truly was blown away with the performance of the DST adapter. It was just like having another router but a cute smaller one. I did not expect this kind of performance that was this small. The router itself is doing most of the job around my house but to get rid of that wifi dead zone, the DST adapter is truly a must have. -Recommend I would truly recommend this product for people who have good internet but want to have a router that can sustain the quality and range. The DST adapter is really a great way to get rid of the wifi dead zone i cannot stress this enough.

Difficult Set Up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite following the set up instructions carefully, the wireless router would not function. This unit comes with one GeekSquad support, which I needed. It took 2 hours for them to get this unit running properly.

It hums
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an Asus before. No noise from it at all. This Netgear hums and has a digital noise sound. I have to turn it off at night because I can't stand it. Is this normal? Been thinking about returning it.

Decent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does ok but does not keep up as well as I thought it would. Not sure if the dst works or not. Maybe 20 or so feet away and my WiFi upstairs don't not seem changed with it in use.

No noticeable difference
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't notice a difference in speed between my very old router and this one. It took 5 hours on the phone with someone to even get my printer to work with the router. Yes 5 hours!

Excellent Network Device
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an opportunity to beta test this product and it is excellent. Having used quite a number of 5ghz routers, power over ethernet devices, and having difficulties getting reception throughout my house this product hits a home run. It increased the range of bith 2.4 and 5ghz (about 20% more than my Rt-ac99u) on the base router alone, and the PoE device made it all that much further. I wasnt able to get blazing speeds on the PoE device, but it was fast enough for everything i wanted it for (mostly streaming video), and this will be completely reliant on the age and configuration of your houses wiring. My only complaint with product is not applicable to most users, but if you use an advanced network configuration then it will take you longer to setup than most firmware since this requires a few reboots.
