Perhaps the best WiFi cable modem router that I've ever owned! Since this was part of a new service installation, the modem set-up couldn't have been easier -- the Comcast service tech set it all up for me. The biggest challenge for him was running a new phone line from my centralized utility closet (where my cable drop and modem are located) to the kitchen where my main land-line phone is located. You see, if you subscribe to Xfinity's voice plan, you must connect a phone directly into one of the modem's (2) telephone line ports. So it's usually easiest to locate the modem in a home office or a room where there's both a cable drop and a wireless phone's main base (with a phone jack). The only thing that was lacking, the described optional battery backup was not available for purchase anywhere until recently, due for release around mid-July 2017. I have one on order.

I wanted a router/modem with phone. I switched to Comcast/Xfinity and I needed something compatible. There were only a few choices and I figured I couldn't go wrong with Netgear. The setup was easy on my end, but it took some time to call Comcast to give them a bunch of information. I recommend calling during the day to get a local US rep. or you'll get someone overseas after hours.

This is awesome router/modem. Have had not one problem. Running 14 devices. Not a glitch.

I am very pleased with this modem/router. It is best for using with Comcast since this has the connections for digital telephone service. I got rid of the secondary phone modem that Comcast installed and has been paid many times over through rental fees. There is one less charge on my bill. The wireless is very fast and coverage in the house is excellent. Get rid of those old modems and routers and use this one.

The gateway worked fine. After giving it some time, I decided to return it to Best Buy. There is no justification to pay extra $100 for unneeded voice and second USB 2.0 port.

Highly rated, pricey, but delivers the goods. Fast speeds, sets up nicely. Works first time and every time. If you are willing to pay for this quality, you won't be disappointed!

Excellent WiFi range, outstanding Ethernet speeds, clear voice calls, easy setup

TRhe router replaced the $10/month Comcast rental for internet and voice. It outperformed the one it replaced & was quite easy to bring online with Comcast. The WiFi AC standard brought my signal in stronger but it still remains an issue for streaming video over WiFi from one floor to the next.

Had Comcast modem previously, this modem is by far faster. It was easy to setup.

Works great . easy to install. fast with tv, computer and with other devises.

Finally got tired of paying to rent a router and the Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 works great. Not only are we saving on the cable bill, our wifi connection has improved dramatically in both stability and distance. It was easy to setup and connect too. We were able to reduce to number of cable boxes to just one by connecting to the xfinity Stream app and save even more

Works well when online. Problem I’ve been having is disrupted service when the router would just shutdown or completely freeze up. This happened a handful of times since the purchase a month ago, where I’d have to unplug and wait for 2-3 minutes. Also, I have a 1gig Internet Service with Xfinity and feel like this gateway isn’t giving me the max as I expected from an upstream/downstream perspective. If this persists, I may consider a different brand like Motorola or the Arris in the future. Overall Im content with it and no longer paying $15/month for a rental is a plus.

Great modem for the price and easy to setup and use

This item works great and is used as the network hub in our home for Xfinity TV service, multiple laptops and mobile phones. We both work from home for a large corporation and it handles our Teams coference meetings and connectivity with exceptional speed and performance. Very happy with this product.
