Product not as descibed on box

My cable was just upgraded to Gigabit internet speed and the NETGEAR I had only handled up to 500 Mbps so I purchased the AC1900 Router/Modem which according to the packaging and the store employee was compatible with Xfinity high speed up to 960 Mbps. I spent 7 hours between the Xfinity folks and NETGEAR before I was finally told by someone at Xfinity that this modem was not compatible. Even though the box states Xfinity compatible don't be misled. It is a docsis 3.0 and needs to be 3.1 so I was unable to obtain Gigabit speed and was only able to hit in the 480-490 mbps range. I took it back.

Bright lights can't be dimmed

The connection with Comcast went OK and the modem/router seems to be working as advertised. I am disappointed that there is no way to turn off the LED lights. For a device that costs almost $300, I would think a feature that is in other cheaper devices would be included.

Only Fast with CAT 6 Cable Direct Connection

I had much better speeds with my ARRIS rental. Constantly having to reset it. I only got full speeds with my CAT 6 cable directly hooked up to the Gigabit Ports and sometimes with the 5 GHZ WiFi. It also died on me in 10 months....Thank God for that!! I really hated this thing!! Using my Geek Squad Plan to replace it with something else. Really disappointment with NETGEAR on this one. I've had much better experiences with their other products, including other routers.
