The associate told me the real issue was my xfinity router/ modem made from recycled parts and the better solution would be to purchase one from Best Buy and avoid monthly rental fees and this would also resolve the dead spots as it was a better router/modem. Sadly this “pitch” turned out to be false and 2 different router/modems later and multiple phone calls to both netgear and xfinity as well as a visit from the xfinity technician, I learned that the Netgear router modem was in fact, incapable of providing the same Wi-Fi speeds as the xfinity model. The Netgear router/modem provided less than 1/2 the Wi-Fi speed as the xfinity router/modem……Either the Best Buy associate was ignorant of the product capabilities or he intentionally lied in order to upswell….either way, I will be avoiding both Best Buy and Netgear products unless and until I am reimbursed for all the wasted time and aggravation. If you really want to own and want high speed this is not the way to go……I got over 600 with xfinity gateway and was only in the 200’s with Netgear’s…..not a contest……

Poor Telephony feature and Support from Netgear

However, telephony is not working with Mediacom despite DOCSIS 3.0. I can not get support from Netgear to solve this. Mediacom points the finger at them of course and Netgear is no help.you
