    Go Eero!

Wasn't for me. Kept dropping the signal, daily, sometimes multiple times daily. After three weeks of calls and dealing with this, I returned it. I went back to my old nighthawk router which worked much better. And since then, I even went back to the cable company's modem and purchased the Eero WIFI mesh extender's. What a difference they have made!! I have always been a netgear fan but Eero is blowing it out of the water. I now have steady, stable WIFI. Wife is not complaining daily which is what we guys wish for, lol. We both are happy cause I am not working on internet every single day. Try Eero out, I think you will be as surprised as I am.

When I got this router in May it was awesome. My games were prioritized and my ping went down which means I got more kills. Since the start of December things have gone downhill fast. From constant disconnects to 300mbps download speed when I get 980mbps when plugged directly in the modem. From 40 ping to 150 to literally and actually unplayable (900+). I only recommend this to people who like getting new routers every 6 months (which I guess is me now...)

If this device is used ALONE and not with any other Nighthawk device then lifes good. But if used in conjunction with other Nighthawk, it seems there is an argument over who is in charge.

Better Than ISP Router, But Not Great

I bought this to replace the terrible router Charter Spectrum gives everyone for free after experiencing heavy traffic and download issues. Switched out the router to this and the internet connections were noticably better. The admin menu for this router is pretty nice and gives you a lot of customization. That said, the biggest issue is that the DHCP lease time is either 1 hour or 8 hours long. If you plan on using this for competitive gaming be prepared for disconnects if you don't renew it before playing. You cannot adjust the length of time the DHCP lease is valid. Netgear should have come up with a better time of day to do a lease renewal.

I've had this for over a month and I got to say is I love it. From the gaming dashboard to the geo filter. I love everything about the nighthawk xr500 pro gaming router. I only used it on my playstation 4 pro. I want to get the nighthawk xr700 but I'll wait a while but for now let's continue with all the FPS games.

Had an asus router before this which I loved. Problem was some items not reconnecting after waking from sleep. Only happened with a few devices, but enough to annoy me. So I went with netgear and problems have been solved. Love the interface and easy tp setup.

Got this with a WiFi repeater, and both work well together. Manages a home network that requires traffic prioritization for posting large files to the internet. When upload occurs, everything else on network gets throttled by design allowing for faster posting and revenue to follow.

We had to purchase this since our other netgear no longer would take firmware updates even though it’s only a couple of years old. Netgear couldn’t figure out why firmware wasn’t updating and their answer was to buy another equipment.

I have a 4000 SQF house and my old router needed wifi extenders on the top floor, this router doesn’t need any at all it’s amazing! We still have to finish our basement then it’ll be around 5500 SFQ! But I went down there and checked this router covers it too, simply magical

After looking at many routers and reviews I purchased this one. For the same price or a little more I considered a more high end router but since I use it mainly for gaming nothing can beat the DumaOS dashboard. Worth it for gamers.

With gaming being so important in this house, it was clear that I needed to be able to control what was first. This router fixed my lag and issues with playing online with letting the qos ability give me what I needed. I would buy this again in a heartbeat

    Slow router big disappointed

After read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of reviews on YouTube. I bought one was excited on the way home to get the router up and running. I’m impressed the router is light and was on for hours the router was not hot at all. The signal was weak in my house. Big disappointed that $299.99 was blemishes out of the box see an attachment. The router was not as fast as you think. The router was slower than NETGEAR X6S. NETGEAR X6S has its own issues. I bought X6S also, the router works great for one day the lost connection has to reboot the router to get it back to work. Looks like NETGEAR can’t made reliable and strong signal nowadays.

This router lets you configure from which location to connect to servers, to which device gets the most bandwidth. There are so many tools in which it allows you to monitor your network. You get what you pay for and a bit more. Great investment if you have multiple devices.

Works pretty good. The only issue I have is that when you need to reboot you have to reboot every device in the chain. It does not seem to be able to find the modem on it's own without a reboot of the modem.

This router is great.i have all my gaming systems and stuff on there. Plus having the ability to choose what devices get to use the most bandwidth is pretty cool. I like that there is a companion app that goes along with it.

If you need a gaming router this one will do the job!!! No issues with connectivity or bottle necking. If you are not a gamer and just need a router for everyday use then this one will be a little overkill and you could most likely buy a cheaper router.
