I have a problem with the duma OS software. It says the devices that are connected or off-line. And also block devices can still get online. There’s numerous things in the duma OS software that are wrong. We get extraordinarily high pink spikes randomly. Never got them before with our other router. The software itself is very slow to load up. The Geo filter does not work as listed. It’s supposed to block certain servers that you connect to which it does not. You’re supposed to be able to select a server to connect to but when you do this it does not actually connect to that server. There’s so many flaws in this. Sometimes I think they just put the names on it and says oh it works. If someone’s going to pay $300 they want the to work right! No flaws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m on my second brand new xr500 and just like the first one it drops wireless signal and does a hard reset always when your not expecting it. There is no fix for it. I plugged in my old router and the wifi works just fine. For some reason this modem dislikes me.

For a router this price it didn't love up the standard my downloads went from 150MB to 100MB my upload slowed went from around 12MB to 4MB. Ping times on average went up by 20-30ms. In other words stay away from this router I ended up returning it. Looks niceon the outside but performs terribly

Can't enable IPv6, otherwise it breaks their proprietary QoS. Buggy and outright broken GUI. Netgear Readyshare doesn't work on Windows 10. Has issues working with switches. Anti-bufferbloat permanently limits your available bandwidth. Very questionable QoS performance in some games. Geofilter is becoming more irrelevant as game devs are switching to different networking paradigms. For example: dedicated servers and Steam sockets. No firmware updates for a looooong time. Netduma lies about incoming fixes to their DumaOS. Don't take my word for it. Check out their company forums. This thing is not worth your $$$. Buy it for your enemies.

If I could give it a less than 1 star rating I would! I purchased my first one in October of 2019, after 4 months it crashed and I could no longer log into the NetDumas OS. Bought another one with Geek Replacement Warranty. now here we are today with the second one I purchased just in April of this year and now it's December 24th and the second one took a crap doing the same thing! Garbage Router, stay far away from this pile of junk sold under the guise as a gaming router!

Finally gave up after two day and a total of four hours on the phone with NETGEAR techies. Where do I begin, actual Speedtest were half my subscribed speed both hard wired and wireless. NETGEAR first made sure my equipment was working properly, all passed with flying colors. Next they keep raising me to the next level and after repeating same test over and over and again determining that my equipment was not at fault they wanted to send me to the next level which was debugging their router, no thanks I’m done. And by the way I did not receive this router for free, i spent cold had cash and Returned it for a refund.

    Amazing New Gaming Router

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Up front: I received this free of charge as part of Netgear's First Look review program. This new router is an amazing piece of consumer technology that is chock full of features for gaming enthusiasts, and especially for pro gamers. You'll be blown away by the new operating system and level of control that you get. Here are some pros and cons: Pro + The new DumaOS is simply excellent. Much better than the traditional cheap OSes that come on consumer routers. It is slick, it is fast, it is powerful. + The speed is awesome. Four antenna, MU-MIMO support, AC wifi at both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. It just rocks. + QoS and Geo Filtering are hands down great. These are so great at removing the barriers between you and super fast gaming. Cons - The price is high. That's just true, BUT I think it's worth it if you're going to use the features that you get. Overall, if this is what you need, it's awesome. Make sure you need this before you buy it, but if you do GO FOR IT!

I have 230 mbps through my modem. This is the Second router purchased and it's doing the same as the first. 2.4 frequency is at 30-50 mbps and 5.1 is at 230 mbps. Also all my lan connections slow. I ran CAT6 and gigabit devices in my whole house and this thing just does not deliver. Called tech support and everything is outsourced to India and can barely make out their accent and horrible connection.
