This was the top rated router and Best Buy had it on sale. Easy setup with Arris Surfboard cable modem. Have it up and running now for 3 weeks without a hitch. Good speed and range. The Netgear Genie app works well.

I have had the Nighthawk on my network for over six months now and as others have noted, it is an excellent performing product. The Wi-Fi coverage is fantastic and covers my two story home with ease. It can easily handle the throughput of my cable modem and I have an external drive attached for backing up my system to. Unfortunately it does suffer from some bugs in the last few versions of firmware that cause the Wi-Fi radios to stop working. Wired connections still work, but even though the Wi-Fi devices are connected, they cannot access the Internet nor the management interface of the router. A reboot will take care of the issue, but it is a pain to have to reset it every few weeks. In checking the Netgear forums, many people are experiencing this issue and have reverted to an earlier version of firmware that does not have this problem. Unfortunately that also creates issues since the newer firmware addresses security issues. If it were not for this issue, the router would be perfect and would have a five star rating. Until the firmware issues are addressed be aware that you may have to reboot the router every few weeks and for that reason I cannot recommend this device.

I love this thing. It has changed my wireless world. I did a speedtest on my xfinity account http://speedtest.comcast.net/ and my wired computer got the same speed as my computer using wireless from this router. (please note you must have a sick wireless card to get sick speed). Our iPhones and iPads are way faster. Xbox is way faster. Wish I would have gotten this way sooner.

The unit works as expected. The product has performed as the documentation stated. The gui interface is intuitive but not for the technically challenged. There are plenty of help videos on the web and at the manufacturer's site, however.

Easy to install! Wonderful performance. This is my second Net gear router and I have found the product of superior quality.

Have a 5000+ home. Was not getting a strong singal in three upstairs bedrooms. Tried Linksys but took it back and tried Netgear. Works prefectly. My gaming sons are now able to play their games and stream without the signal dropping

Easily installed with bare minimum of code/password hassle PROVIDED you don't mess with using the app. 2 frequencies. Handles all my needs- 2 computers, an I-phone 8, and an LG HDTV. The app appears to be for people who love tech and having comm with others who do. As usual, the seller wants to know how it has behaved for the last year, but wants to know this 2 weeks after you acquired the device.

This is the best router. I literally bought and returned a handful of different routers. This is a pricey router but you get what you pay for. There is an iPhone app as well to configure pretty much anytime. Its easy to use and install. This router is pretty new, so it has all the new wireless standards. I recommend this to anyone that can afford to pay a little extra on a router. Trust me, don't buy cheap junk when it comes to wi-fi in your home!

I was excited to hook up the Nighthawk in my large home to replace my Netgear N900 router. I found the hook up to be easy and the router seems reasonably fast, but it isn't significantly more powerful. I can get a signal 4 to 6 feet further from the router than the N900, but still over one third of my house can only get WiFi with an extender. I think the Nighthawk is a good router, but way over-hyped.

I love this product. The speed is wonderful. The setup is very easy. I would recommend this to anyone that is out for the speed increase in their wireless network.

I was looking for a wireless router since I was switching from dal to cable. I went to bb and asked a worker there which one would work best for what I did online. He suggested this product so I bought and I'm quite happy with it.

Easy to set up and works like a champ. We get a strong signal all through out the house and gone are the days of buffering. Huzzah!

The Night Hawk NETGEAR50 was recommended by my internet provider tech, and also by Best Buys sales person. I like it, but have only had it for about four months. It may prove to be the best router I've ever had!
