Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the Nighthawk R7000 AC1900 WiFi Router's impressive range, ease of use, and performance. Many appreciate its strong signal and the generally simple setup process, leading to positive experiences with streaming and overall WiFi quality. DOA but great tech support

The router looks like a beast and is built well, but mine was DOA. I'm a computer guy but called tech support to confirm it was bad out of the box. After 1.5 hours of retrying everything I already did for the most part I was told it was bad. I'm just going to keep my old Netgear router for now since it works fine. Never had an issue with Netgear before, tech support tried their best, so I'll give 3 stars as there are bad apples in every bunch.

I wasn't sure if this was going to be work the money but it was worth every penny. I went from having 80 Mbps download to 200 Mbps (a new modem was also necessary). The range is extensive and I love the guest access with an actual wpa password instead of an online log in page. I recommend the nighthawk to everyone.

Definitely a better and faster signal than the cable freebie. Parents of obsessive gamers will appreciate the capability to turn off individual connections through the phone app which is a plus plus. The teenager is not happy with this but oh well.

    Netgear R7000

This is a great bang for your buck router. The R7000 is a 7-8 year old router at this point, and the specs are nowhere near the X models or current ones, but don't count this one out. While this guy doesn't do WiFi 6, it still supports AC wireless which is plenty for the devices of today and the future. Unfortunately the only drawback is the firmware. Netgear put consumers in a corner with current firmware that runs slow and has issues. If you're somewhat technically savvy and understand that this is a highly sought after router for its 2x1000mhz broadcom CPU, up to 1300mbps AC radio, and are able to use TFPT to downgrade the firmware on this router so that you can load a custom firmware like DD-WRT or Tomato, and then make some minor changes in those firmwares, I would argue that this will outperform many modern day routers.

We purchased this to replace the router provided to us by our internet provider. We had problems when multiple devices were using the internet, it would need reset. This router has not had to be reset one time since we've had it.

The setup was simple - we didn't bother with the netgear genie app, we just did it in a browser and it took minutes to change the SSIDs and default passwords. Covers our whole house and deck with pretty consistent speed throughout.

Great speed, no resetting needed daily like with other routers if there is too much traffic, handles lots of devices at the same time with no issues. Compact size allow it to stay out of sight

Because of the millions and millions of Hacking Attempts daily, I recommend changing the WiFi setting using the NETGEAR genie.

Installation was a snap. Actually was easier to set up than my all-in-one Canon printer. Everything auto installed and auto updated with new software security patches. So easy a WiFi newbie can do it. It's been up and running for a month continuously now. I only had to reset/reboot router once early on.

Bought the Nighthawk to replace an older Linksys that had died. After doing some research on the current line of routers the nighthawk won out. The performance is excellent as expected, the only down side for me is the software but that is due to this being the first time I have used Netgear software.

This router is great. I installed a few ring cameras around my house and was having poor reception. I decided I needed a new router as I did not want to purchase a plug-in reception booster. I have a 3400 square foot house and now all the cameras work great. I would recommend this router.

I bought this router to connect to Nest camera's and door bells. I have had a lot of problems connecting to the inside camera's and I have never been able to connect to the Hello door bell. I am not sure if it is a router problem or a Nest problem at this time. We have our Ipad and phones connected and had no problems.

The Nighthawk is the best router you can buy. Reliable, large range, and incredibly fast. Skip your ISP default router/modem combo and get yourself a Nighthawk. I was able to achieve 200 mb/s when I only paid for 50. This is a must buy. Have them price check with Amazon. I got $100 off when I got mine.
