Have this installed in the basement with a NetGear repeater on the first floor. The repeater frequently looses connection with the main unit. The range is a bit weak without it on the second floor. Maybe I need to spend a lot more time with it .....

for the price point, this router exceeded my expectations. I even got my mom to purchase on for her work from home, she loves it. was very impressed also

Got new broadband fiber optic service and old router couldn’t keep up. With this router, no buffering or interrupted streams.

We live in a duplex apartment with the lower level subterranean. The building is steel and reinforced concrete construction. Prior to installation of the Netgear Nighthawk, wireless access was limited to one floor (ie: if the cable modem was on upper floor, there would be no service downstairs and vice versa.). After installation on the upper floor we now have WiFi coverage throughout the apartment. Signal strength diminishes in some areas but it is always strong enough to maintain connectivity. I would recommend this device in situations where construction materials create interference that a standard wireless router's signal cannot penetrate.

Because I live in a remote area, I have a MicroCell to enable my cell phone to work at all. My new 4G MCell required more advanced settings than the router I had; in addition, my router has to be compatible with Apple. The gentleman at Best Buy chose this Netgear router for me, and I am glad to say that he was right about it. My wifi signal never wavers; it is powerful throughout my house and onto my porch-- and my MicroCell shines brightly. If there is a negative, it is only that there is no installation cd, and so I did have to call customer service. Even so, Netgear has exceptional personal customer service 24/7. So this router is a WINNER.

This is the first time I have bought this brand and it works wonderful. I like to keep something for at least a month before reviewing and so far.... its perfect!

love it I’m running 2 cell phones,4 gameing systems, and upload video to you tube and netflex runs grate all at once with no slow down.

Had to replace a REALLY old Cisco router that finally died. Replaced with this Netgear. It was easy to configure for a static IP address, and it worked without any problems. The old Cisco had no "Status" page so user of the old Cisco could not easily check what was happening to his internet connection. With the newer routers like this Netgear the use can easily check the status of his internet connection by logging into the router and checking the "Status" tab. The wireless system was kept at the defaults and worked flawlessly.

I like it. Slight learning curve during set-up if you are a novice, but wasn't difficult. Best part is that now we have full, fast coverage upstairs at the furthest parts of our home.

This is a good router at a decent price. Some other routers have some additional features but this one gets the job done for us at about half the price as the more expensive models.

Definitely gives me WiFi so I feel like it does what it’s supposed to do

Within a few months, the router started dropping everyday. It was still under the one year warranty so I called netgear tech support. They insisted that I subscribe to a separate tech support service which costs ~$50 for a one time use. They refused to honor the warranty because they did not believe it to be hardware related. I instead did additional research and found there has been an apparent long standing issue with their firmware not working appropriately with this router. I manually installed an older firmware and it started working again. I do not know why their tech support would not directly inform callers of this issue and instead direct them to an expensive tech support. I can’t recommend this product unless you are technologically savvy to fix any and all issues on your own. Otherwise it could get much more expensive quickly if you need tech support.

Installed in upstairs bedroom and can still access it from bottom floor opposite side of the house. Did not need a repeater

This router is amazing. I am getting basically getting the full bandwidth on my 5g channel. Very easy to set up.

I purchased this router to improve my Optimum provided router. It was a 1000% improvement. I can finally use my computer in my study, which is upstairs .

We have four TVs in our household, two laptops and two tablets. We stream with no issues, and surf the Internet . Again no problems or issues. Very happy with device.
