Not reliable

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an aging Apple AirPort Extreme because sometimes it would have slow Internet and need to be restarted to fix it, and because there aren’t any more firmware updates. The AC1900 had less range than the Airport and was much slower unless a device was in the same room. The worst thing is I had to restart it about once a day because some devices would stop connecting. Maybe I had a lemon. I returned it and got a Nighthawk X6 R8000P which is way better. I didn’t want to try another AC1900 because of the slow speed/weak range and figured that’s not going to improve and is most likely from the size of my house. Haven’t had to restart the X6 and I installed and configured it 12 days ago. The range is excellent! I also like that there’s a switch to turn off and on most of the LED status lights which aren’t needed unless troubleshooting, so this saves a bit of power.

More than capable of handling a lot of bandwidth.

Plenty of bandwidth for three phones, a PC, laptop, Kindle Fire, two Firesticks and smart tv's that are cord-cutted (is that a word? lol). Easy to setup and with the usually great Netgear support . Talked my son-in-law into buying one to upgrade his WiFi and he's pleased as I am.

Good choice

He told us about this model and we are very pleased with it. Easy to setup and good signal to phones, computers, and Rokus all through the house and no dropping the connection so far.
