Set this up right out of the box! too easy. Previously I was using CISCO router and coverage was not good at every place of my house but this router is good. We are getting blazing wireless speed everywhere. This is the latest and greatest router!

My new NETGEAR - Nighthawk Dual-Band ( R7000-100NAS ) router is FAST! It shakes hands with my Cox ISP and screams over Ethernet as well as wireless. I have mid tier 50 mbps (download) service with Cox and I am easily getting 66+ mbps with this router. (upload is 10-15) The wireless averages between 40-50 mbps - I know! I get readings on my S6 cell connected via wireless that say 475 - 750 mbps in the 5.2 G range. I think it's exaggerating - but?? My laptop wireless reads 177 mbps. But the ISP test scores only 40-50.
After 30 days - so far so good. I had my last router for almost 8 years before it died recently - I'm glad it did. I've been reading about the Nighthawk for almost 2 years. I don't think I'll wait so long again - especially if the wireless tech improves.

Almost immediately after purchasing this I flashed DD-WRT to it. I'm happy with the capabilities and the speed but occasionally I lose internet. I haven't pinned down whether it's the router or the service provider since I just changed companies.

Pros:
I purchased this router to replace my Netgear 3700 router, and so far I have been impressed. I liked my Netgear 3700 router but had issues with slow USB transfer rates. The fastest speeds my old Netgear performed at was around 7-10 MBps running in USB 2.0 mode. With the Night Hawk edition I've seen 28 MBps on my USB 2.0 and 61 MBs on my USB 3.0 connector. The rang is pretty good as well, my gaming consoles wireless signal strength always hovered around 60-70 percent in my apartment, now I'm getting 90-6 percent at the same location.
Cons:
The USB 3.0 connectors keeps dropping my external hard drives. When it works it fast, but I found myself constantly unplugging/re plugging my drives at least ounce a day using the 3.0 port. So I decided to buy WD My Cloud Ethernet external drive and just use Cat 5 instead of the USB 3.0 port. I still have one of my drives connected to the USB 2.0 port running flawless, so I hope an update can fix USB 3.0 port issues, besides USB 3.0, this is an excellent router.

I purchased this router to replace my old Linksys E2000 router. The difference is night an day in terms of distance and signal. Running two simultaneous wi-fi networks (one is 2.4Ghz, other is 5Ghz) is pretty cool. Features and customization is out of this world.
And...this is fast. VERY, VERY fast. It's a little high on the price tag, but if you're looking for the best bang for your buck - then this router is it.

We bought this to replace a rented router from Charter. The rental router was a decent unit with good coverage, but this has stronger signal and better coverage. No problems getting signal from far corner of house. Have lost signal from my desktop couple of times after waking it up. Was unable to connect. Not sure if issue was computer or wireless adapter. Router was still available to other devices, so don't think it was router. Required computer reboot. This was easy to set up, no complaints.

I have used various brands wireless routers and changed due to one or another reason of non performance after few months from purchase. After buying NETGEAR - Nighthawk Dual-Band Wireless-AC Router with 4-Port Ethernet switch, I am relieved . I think it is best product available in the market for home and office use . I can connect all my devices very easily. Good range and connectivity. It has parental control too.

This is a very nice product. Much better than other netgear (lower end usage) routers. Set up was eazy. Improved wireless in the house tremendously and took the place of a router and extender.

I bought this to replace an older router that was still working but had to be reset often and coverage in rooms farther from the router had weak coverage. The Nighthawk since purchased has never had to be reset to make it work and the rooms farthest away, and with plaster wall with wire mesh get good coverage, the rooms in unobstructed areas receive Excellent coverage, and my sons play X-Box and stream videos and they have said since getting this router, things are a lot better.

I originally bought this router because my old router did not work at providing Internet signal from one side of my house to another... This router does exactly that and is much safer and my information is protected.

The router stays online and serves a larger area than the one I previously had. No problems so far. Have had it for about a month. Will purchase the range extender to hit some areas not serviced.

I just plug in the cable from the comcast modem and then plug in the nighthawk to the wall electric plug and within a second you get all the wifi signals without any other programming or set up as required in the other routers.

We were looking to replace an older NETGEAR router and the reviews were generally good with this one. I like the easy set up of NETGEAR products. The range isn’t as good as I had hoped, but otherwise it does the job.

Super fast router that hits every corner of my 2 bedroom apartment. External hard drive connected via USB 3.0 works without effort. Blazing fast bandwidth that keeps up with my fiber connection and some.
Would buy again.
