The Nighthawk (model R7000) is one of the best dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) wireless routers on the market today. The router has a trapezoid design and flared sides and looks very cool with its white lights.The shape is reminiscent of the famed fighter jet of the same name. One setback to the Nighthawk (model R7000) is that in order to obtain excellent speeds on the 5GHz band, you will need to pair it with Netgear's latest mini 11ac A6100 USB adapter in order to enhanced Quality-of-Service (QoS) that shortens the time to buffer and stream videos. Keep in mind that not all of your equipment will be able to obtain high speeds without this adapter. iPads will not be able to use such adapters. However, the Nighthawk is one of the top 802.11ac wireless routers currently on the market for heavy-duty throughput tasks and it gives the user control of the network through the Genie app. It also has a unique network name that is very cool.

I chose this router to flash it to become a VPN Router with Tomato as it's operating system. I was pleased with how easy this was to set up.

Love the power that this router gives. My character/toon in MMO game Aion moves with so much speed and I have no lag at all. Definitely worth the price to buy !

I purchased this to replace an old Linksys router. I wanted something that delivered better range and speed then what we use to have and this one delivers. It is installed in the same location as the Linksys, but covers a broader area of the house and delivers great speed for all of our online gaming, streaming of movies, etc.

It has worked great! I love it. My original went out and my phone company wanted to lease me one. This purchase was the best purchase ever.

This is my 2nd purchase of this router, I liked it so much that I got one for my small business! My phone recognizes it from a block away!

We got this Nighthawk AC1900 router this week to replace another brand that kept dropping signals. We're glad we did because this is functioning smoothly from the get-go. Cons(-ish): The speeds are good enough though not quite up to par, and we apparently need to adjust the settings, but there are good Netgear support documents online that we'll use to fine-tune. Their security software is offered as a paid subscription (can't find the price) after a free trial period of a month. Pros: Setup was easy even without their (optional) Genie's help, with clear instructions in a convenient pull-up menu. All devices connected promptly. The signal range is consistent and reliable. FWIW, the machine itself looks more streamlined than others in the same price range that look clunky. Most significantly, it's working as a good router should, with no glitches.

Netgear has always been reliable and this product was not a disappointment. It streams everything without a hitch and everyone can game to their hearts' contents.

After purchasing a new laptop our old router would not connect to it. We purchased the Nighthawk and the connection was quick and the distance of signal is great.

I could not be happier with this product. I am yet to have a problem truly amazing easy set up and it's awesome better than any other I've had in the past

I would recommend this router for anyone who use internet a lot, gaming, streaming ect. not problems with it yet

This product was very easy to physically connect and wirelessly setup. I am using it mostly for wireless streaming of video and music and performance has been consistently fast and smooth. The antenna are a little tricky to position. Rotating them clockwise to angle was fine, but if rotated counterclockwise just a small amount, they loosen and just flop down. The other surprise was our Kindles would not connect to the wireless AC. Too fast a connection for the humble reader. Luckily we have a wireless N router in another part of the house. All in all, still very satisfied with the product.

I deliberated for hours and days over what my next router should be. Dropping up to $200 on a router was daunting and I wanted to make sure I made the right decision. Coupling this purchase with CAT6 to ensure I wasn't bottlenecking myself, I set up this router and was blown away. It's amazing how much my old router had been throttling me. This router is able to handle 90mb/s (based on my tests), which is as high as my ISP goes to my knowledge. All of my devices are hooked in, some wireless and some cabled, but all of them experience good to breakneck speeds. My game consoles rooms away still run fantastically with no lag in game and my wired PC is able to download 40GB games in 20-40 minutes. The router also offers a solid suite of features if that's something you're into, but nothing too crazy or state of the art compared to its high end competitors. This purchase was revolutionary. That said, this purchase is a bit overkill for most. If you have a small household with 6 or less devices, there are cheaper options for you that will feel just fine. Depending on what you need out of your internet as well will determine how much you need something of this caliber. General Facebook browsers with an occasional Youtube video session will likely not see any major improvements in their experience.

I purchased this router to upgrade an 8 year old Belkin router as wireless coverage/signal was becoming noticeably weaker. I was able to get this router up and running in less than 15 minutes using the smartphone app. Since installation, I have not had any issues running 2 gaming consoles, 2 smartphones, 2 iPads, 2 PCs and a Macbook Pro. Amazing buy!

My old router failed and had to be replaced. It never had the range, so it was a blessing that it died and left me to buy a better one. To me the Netgear Nighthawk is the top of the line. It has excellent support software that gives me a detailed view of network performance, and notifies me when traffic is heavy or the network is down. I don't know about the future, but this device is now enabling me to do more, faster and at more locations on or near my property! Thank you Netgear!

The equipment works, but I do wish it could be designed to stack with other equipment. This is pretty wide and and I don't like a lot of flat pieces taking up space on my desk.

My router for biz blew up and replaced with this little beast. Easiest set up ever! Back up and running in less than an hour. Wireless range very impressive and married to my access point with no issue. Networking has always been a challenge, but Netgear has it finally figured out.

I'm in a fairly large Apt, and with my teenage son and myself big techies, we run about 15 items on the network, and this handles it wonderfully. between the Smart Phone the PS3 and 4, XBOX, Smart TV's, Desktops computers, Laptops, tablets and lets not forget our Network printers. I really can't say enough good things about this router. It has Duel Bands and you can use them simultaneously, which is great, through out the apt I avg on the older G network I'm getting at 65% signal strength, and with the Smart TV ( N network) it's on end of the house, and the routers is on the other end, I'm getting 92%, this thing kicks butt. I know it's a bit pricey, and I'm normally budget conscious minded person, but this is one purchase I was happy to spend the extra money with absolutely no regret.

I purchased this because previous one was dropping signal every single hour. I was very nervous. I went to Bestbuy and purchase this after reviewing products. Reasonable price as well as great operation and coverage. I am living in a house around 2000 sq ft. It covers perfectly fine. no speed different at every single corner of my house. Great for a mid-sized house.
