It does not go as far as it should in house mine goes off and on went signal sometime it works great other not so great its not that far from router too !

I purchased to gain better coverage in basement. My router is on the 1st floor and It didn’t provide strong enough signal for streaming down there - Netgear Nighthawk. I found that the extender worked well when connected, however it would seem to drop its link with the primary router frequently. After about a year and a half I couldn’t get the two devices to pair. I’d suggest looking at a mesh system or another alternative.

This Extender has worked very well. Uses a MESH system so it connects to the same Network and you don't have to create a separate one. Works very well and seamless.

Now I have Wi-fi throughout my entire house and back yard!

I have a two story house. when plugging it upstairs it does not work well. Has to be pretty close to the router to do the job.

Plug and Play setup was easy. But the Netgear Nighthawk knocked out my entire Internet locked up my router. Was on phone with Internet provider over 3 hours trying to get router back on line to no avail. Provider had to overnite new router. Returned Netgear Nighthawk immediately.

I purchased this after doing some research and thought it was going to help with my slow connection downstairs. Internet is through Spectrum (Ubee DOCSIS) installed upstairs in a media closet. I can’t tell you how many times I have setup this thing just like the instructions say but no matter what I do, it just doesn’t seem to work. The app that Netgear seems to force you to use is frustrating and not intuitive. I like to think I’m fairly competent when it comes to technology, but I can’t seem to get this thing to work as intended. When it does connect, it CONSTANTLY loses connection and you have to reconnect it. Netgear says it needs a firmware update, but the app shows I have the latest update. I’ve read that it works best with a Netgear router but I don’t want to spend the extra money just to get this thing to work better. I’ve tried different parts of the house, but I still get the same results. I’ve tried setting it up as an access point, but that was a complete and total waste of time and fruitless. I do not recommend this product and unfortunately since my wife threw away the box, I am stuck with something that doesn’t work.
