I read many reviews and this extender sounded like it took the least tech knowledge to set up. I needed to know my wireless password for it to connect to the router. Then I used the same password for the extender so it's just a little easier for guests to connect. The price was higher, but it's a one time purchase and the reviews for all the less expensive ones said they had too many problems.

I had several dead zones in my house where the wifi was very sporadic. These issues have now gone away after installing this Netgear WiFi extender. It was fairly easy to set up, and worked right away. Best $100 I've spend especially during the current shutdown with my wife, son, and I all working from our house.

We use this in a mother in-law cottage 75 feet away from the main house. The main gateway wasn't providing a solid enough WiFi signal to the cottage so the extender was purchased and it works like a charm so far! The Netgear website is great also to check connectivity, configure to 2.4 or 5 signals, and set the range of the extender. Great purchase to extend the WiFi!

Working from home and was consistently getting kicked off the network. I have a great Night Hawk router but on a different floor and opposite side of the house. This range extender did the trick. I haven’t lost connection yet and it has been about 3 weeks since the purchase. Setup with the app was a breeze.

In ALL the years that I've been plugging things into the wall and hoping for the best, this Wi-Fi Extender was the EASIEST to date. Setting up this device was a NO BRAINER. And , it KEEPS . the connection, well... connected, between my router and my outdoor Wi-Fi enabled garden watering timer. The design of this hunk-o-plastic is futuristic, and it actually stays plugged into the AC outlet. Two minor things kept me from having a 5-star rating: 1. It would be nice to have an AC pass-thru outlet for those of us who need every single outlet we can get, and 2. This device is mostly white. I prefer my electronics and appliances to have a black finish. But, like I said, these are mostly minor issues. Hey, I have issues too. :-)

The device looks pretty solid out of the box. Pairing it to my router was pretty straight forward. The reason I got this range extender was because I was getting a poor signal to my desktop that is about 45ft away from my Nighthawk router - 3 walls separate one from the other. I put the extender about half way between the 2 and it indicates a strong connection to both desktop and router. I do get maximum lines on my desktop and the connection is established at around 600mbps. That speed is enough for surfing, streaming youtube content but not nearly enough when transferring files from my laptop which is 3ft away from the router and the desktop. Transfer speeds go around 10-15 mbps. I usually have to transfer 150 - 200gb worth of data at one time so, at that rate, it would take a whole night. I ran a quick experiment a couple of days ago and stretched a cat6 cable between the router and my desktop. File transfer speeds went to 60mbps right away so, big difference! The other thing that annoys me is that every now and then I have to unplug and then plug back in my range extender. I have to do that every other day or so because the devices connected to it are no longer visible on my network. They do connect to the internet just fine but I cannot access them across my local network until I reboot the extender.

We have a long single story home with all utilities coming in at one end, including internet. WiFi reception at the far end of the house was slow and sketchy; not only could you not reliably connect a phone or tablet in two of the bedrooms, but smart plugs and Echo devices wouldn't stay connected either. The Netgear X4 AC2200 WiFi Range Extender has solved that problem, giving consistent WiFi reception throughout the house. Our provider-supplied router doesn't support WPS (!), so we were unable to use the quick setup procedure, but I was able to get it working in a few minutes by connecting to the the extender on a tablet and following Netgear's instructions. I did the setup procedure with the extender plugged into an outlet near the router, then moved it to its final destination after it had established a solid connection. Because this extender allows you to use your network's existing SSID name, any device already connected should automatically connect to the extender. While not the cheapest WiFi extender around, the Netgear X4 AC2200 definitely gets the job done, and I found setup to be quick and painless!

I absolutely love this Wi-Fi extender. It handles 2.4 and 5.0 and has better range than any other one I’ve ever used. Highly recommended would buy again. This is an absolute great value for the money. I would not consider any other extender. Extremely easy to sync up to your Wi-Fi.

I purchased this WiFi Extender so we could get a better signal in our basement so our smart TV would be able to stream Netflicks and other streaming services. It was a little tricky to install and get running We had to move it around the house to make it work correctly. So far it seems to be working. The only issue is we had to plug it into an outlet in my kitchen that is a little inconvenient because I was using that outlet for multiple things, cell phone charging, hair dyer etc. and it can't be unplugged or we would have to reboot it every time. I guess this is just anissue with our house, but it's is a bit annoying.

Our existing Wi-Fi didn't have a strong enough signal in the remote areas of our house to support our Roku TV connection. Adding this range extender on the same floor as the TV solved the problem. Only issue was in the initial set-up. I followed the instructions (I thought) but had erratic operation with the extender losing contact with the main Wi-Fi even when in close proximity. I did a reset and went through the set-up again and have had no problems for the last four weeks.

so far so good the app makes install easy. I use mine in an extender fashion to reach the other side of my apartment. one tip is once setup I found it beneficial to disable and reenable the wifi of the far reach devices to pick up the stronger netgear signal.

My Spectrum internet sucks. They said my constant outages weren't due to them, but they sent me a new modem anyways. Then they said it must be my router. I know it wasn't my router but it gave me an excuse to buy a new one anyways. It still didn't fix the problem. They suggested that it must be that it's not getting coverage and to buy an extender. I knew I didn't really need it. I've tested the wifi in my house and get great coverage. I bought this anyways since I had an excuse to do so. Now I have internet in my back yard too. Yay me. Oh, and Spectrum sucks.

Easy to install but not sure how effective the device is for extending the reach of my Wi-Fi. Come June when I can get the speakers out by the pool, we'll see. Seemed a little too pricey as well.

Was a little hard to figure out at first, then couldn’t tell if it was working. Returned the 1900 and got the 2200 now and seems to work I just can’t tell a big difference like I expected. It’s nice looking and small so isn’t an eye sore on the wall outlet, I like the look of it. First extender I’ve had so no other experience besides with this one. I wish the directions were really easy and basic, so that could’ve been made a little more simple to understand. I like that it has 2 Ethernet ports on it, I use it for the base unit of my Arlo wireless cams in the back of my house where internet isn’t as good.
